Description

A pioneer of the genre, Ruby Jean Jensen is a name that revives fond memories in her fans, and excitement that her books are once again available. Best Friends explores the subterranean powers of the fragile human mind. Ruby Jean has been recognized as a trailblazer for women authors in Horror. New fans will be excited to explore her 30 novels! Like all of Ruby Jean’s works, Best Friends will be highly appreciated by young adults.
Originally published in 1985, Best Friends follows Barry, who suffered an unusual form of abuse while at a nursery school—Satanic rites? Father Ramon, a single parent and preoccupied with his job, had to deal with the aftermath. Fortunately, Barry’s therapist pointed Ramon to Shannon, another of his patients who had recently lost her husband and young son in a car accident. Dr. Coleman suggested that Ramon hire Shannon for the summer to help bring Barry out of his shell. Shannon would join the kids for the summer in the family’s mountain lake cabin to assist with Barry’s recovery. Of course, they knew nothing about Barry’s new special friends that protected him wherever he went.
Unfortunately, as Barry’s Best Friends seemed less friendly each day, he began to realize they had powers on their own. He could not control them! Worse, his friends now seemed intent on doing harm ...
