Description

Terror from the Past?

“A captivating fourth novel in a stand-alone series with an irresistible appeal to fans of police procedural and detective crime fiction…” — The Book Commentary

Women are turning up in shallow graves in different boroughs of Manhattan. New York homicide detective Tara Woods and her partner are on a dangerous quest to find a serial killer.

The gruesome and meticulous method of death triggers the chief’s memory of a similar cold case he and Tara’s dad had worked on thirty years prior. Tara must determine the common link between the two investigations in order to bring down a vicious and cunning killer.

When the killer kidnaps Tara’s friend, it hits too close to home, and the urgency to capture him intensifies. Facts and memories of the chief and another former partner, along with current evidence, give Tara the leads she needs to capture the serial killer involved in both cases.

Another creep off the streets of New York. Who will take his place?

Several women have been abducted, later their bodies found all around Manhattan. They all have long dark hair, a pink barrette in their hair, each also having a doll dressed in pink on their bodies.

Homicide Detective Tara Woods and her partner are called to investigate and are amazed to find links to the same kinds of crimes 30 years ago. Tara must determine the common link between the two investigations in order to bring down a vicious and cunning killer.

When the killer turns his eyes on his next victim, someone close to the detectives, it becomes very personal.

Although fourth in this series, TERRORIZING TARA, can easily be read as a stand alone, as do each of the other stories. It's well written with deftly drawn characters, who relate to each other with humor, each knowing the other has their back. It's fast paced with lots of action... leading to a very satisfactory ending. It's a short read ...less than 150 pages.

Many thanks to the author / BooksGoSocial / Netgalley for the digital copy of this crime fiction. Opinions expressed here are unbiased and entirely my own.

I am so excited that this is part of a series. Even though the book stands alone, I love the characters and am really pleased there are more opportunities to engage with them. And it is engaging - I felt like part of the action rather than an observer. The author depicts New York with vivid language and a level of detail which allows you to visualise the setting. A great read.

I was given a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This is a short, fast read - under 200 pages.

The characters are likeable, believable- cops who love their jobs, still have compassion.

Strong female detective who will stop at nothing to find this serial killer before the body count increases - I have to read the other books in this series!
