Description

1000 Mediterranean Meals brings recipes from Spain, Italy, Greece, Portugal, Egypt, Turkey, France, Morocco, Lebanon, and other Mediterranean nations straight to your dinner table!

Unlike other diets with strict rules and hard laws, the Mediterranean diet encourages you to eat more whole foods from the entire food pyramid without sacrificing taste or your health. Incorporating all the traditional healthy living habits of people from countries bordering the Mediterranean Sea has never been easier. Mediterranean recipes include lots of vegetables, legumes, whole grains, breads, fruits, nuts, seeds, and olive oil, as well as plenty of fish, poultry, and small amounts of red meat. By focusing on what goes into your body and consuming only fresh, unprocessed,  and unrefined foods that are (usually) low in trans fats, you can live a healthier lifestyle without cutting out your favorite foods.

Mediterranean food is not just really good for you, it is also really delicious to eat and pretty to look at. Encompassing the culinary traditions and cultures of all the countries that border the Mediterranean waters, this is convivial food that suits the climate and the pace of life, consisting largely of lots of little dishes made out of tantalizing and delicious local specialties—from grilled fish to delicate filled pastries, tasty stews, and fresh produce combined into salads. This is food that will enliven even the most jaded palate, where the key is always variety to satisfy even the hungriest diner.

1000 recipes are just the start of your culinary adventures. Most recipes offer additions and substitutions for people that like changing their favorite dishes around from time to time.  Recipes for Antipasti, meze, tapas, salads, breads, pizzas, vegan and vegetarian delights, pasta, poultry, seafood, desserts, fruit, and more are all included, plus classic recipes for tzatziki, arancini, hummus, falafel, gazpacho, pizzettes, focaccia bread, plus these delicious meals for entertaining friends and family (or just yourself):

This is an all inclusive book on just about everything Mediterranean you might like to cook. Recipes are quick and easy to follow, but there aren't many pictures. This isn't a book that gets chatty about recipe origins or locations, It's a just the facts ma'am cookbook for when you want to cook, not browse

So many recipes! There are recipes inspired/from Italy, Portugal, Greece and all the Mediterranean and European area. There are recipes for tapas, soups and salads, breads and pizzas, vegetables and vegetarian, pastas and rices, meat and poultry, fish and seafood and desserts. Some recipes samples are: hummus, tzatziki, provencal soup, greek salad, Lebanese flatbread, pizza, risotto, paella, gnocchi, spaghetti, lamb, veal and rabbit recipes, Panna cotta, tiramisu, pastel de natas and churros. It's more like a European/Mediterranean cookbook but I'm very happy with all these recipes. I received a free digital copy of this book from NetGalley in exchange for my honest review

Some amazing recipes in here, I love Mediterranean food. I can’t wait to try some of these out. They look so simple and easy. I like the way the book is laid out too, visually inviting.

Thank you NetGalley for my complimentary copy in return for my honest review.

A good straight forward cookbook with no messing around in between recipes. There is plenty to try out and really does cover all basis, including dips and ice creams! I would have liked more photos of the dishes but still feel that this would make a great gift or treat for your bookshelf!

Many thanks to NetGalley and publishers for the chance to explore and review this book

I am helplessly attracted to cookbooks that focus on this region of the world and its cooking style. I love the healthy recipes and ideas. This book follows the norm of going through several typical categories of recipes. It does this beautifully with easy to follow recipes, including variations of many of them. These variations are presented next to the recipes with many options for techniques to make it more unique. The photos are gorgeous. There didn't seem to be 1000 actual separate and different recipes but with the variations, this is the case.
The only critique of this cookbook is that it doesn't have a lot of extra information discussing the health attributes of adopting this diet. It also doesn't feel like it offers anymore than other cookbooks of this cuisine.
I still enjoyed it and would consider it for a holiday gift for the chef in your life.

Not only is the Mediterranean gorgeous, the food is spectacular. I live in Croatia part time and am constantly in awe at the healthy local ingredients one can forage just out the door. With such wondrous food at hand long lists of embellishments aren't necessary. This gorgeous book illustrates this perfectly...these recipes are intended to enhance. Yet most of these recipes would be easily prepared in many countries and regions, especially with the substitutions listed. Plus the Mediterranean diet is healthier...a win win!

Who can resist Roasted Almonds and Seeds (which I just made...delicious!), Marinated Manchego with Peppers and Cumin, Grilled Zucchini with Pesto, Baked Feta & Walnut Salad, Zucchini Flowers Stuffed with Goat Cheese & Lavender Honey? I adore lavender honey but hadn't thought to use it on stuffed zucchini flowers.

Next time we eat beef carpaccio we will be sure to serve it with Anchovy Mayo and Crispy Garlic. Dinner tonight has just changed as I will be preparing Circassian Chicken. The flavour profile is incredible and simple. Tomorrow? Almond Ice Cream!

Lovely traditional recipes as well as new classics are included here. Most are simple and accessible but for those who love a bit of a challenge you will find that, too. But they are all special. So much inspiration to be found. I also like the informational content at the beginning of each chapter.

For those who Inhale delectable recipes, daydream then try them! Though my culinary library is full, this is one book I'd definitely cook from regularly so will buy the hard copy. These recipes transport me to home in Croatia immediately. Thank you for that, especially during covid times and with the landscape enveloped with deep November snow.

My sincere thank you to the Editors of Chartwell Books (Quartro Publishing Group) and NetGalley for providing me with an ARC of this delightful book in exchange for an honest review. Much appreciated.

This is a nice cookbook with many color photos and fairly authentic Mediterranean recipes. I was really disappointed to see that it doesn't contain nutritional information for the recipes. So many people need to track fiber, protein, fat, carbs, sodium, etc. and need that information, and people who choose the Mediterranean diet are far more likely to be doing so for health reasons that make that info especially necessary.

That said, there are lots of color photos (for maybe 1/3 of the recipes?) and the recipes are pretty easy to follow. I was surprised to see canola oil used for frying, and it's yet another book that tells you that people who follow the Mediterranean diet eat mostly veggies and grains with very limited fish, dairy and meat, and then provides far more main meal recipes that use those ingredients. It will work fairly well for gluten free folks (other than the many breads, though one gluten free pita type bread recipe is provided), okay for vegetarians and paleo folks (especially with substitutions), and not very well for vegans and keto/low carb folks.

One element that I liked is that many recipes contain a list of alternative recipe instructions, if you'd like to make it with a different vegetable or flavor profile.

My hubby and I are in our middle+ years and need more protein, fiber and healthy fat and much less sugar and carbs. Since switching to a diet that focuses on those and using intermittent fasting, I've dramatically slimmed down without any additional exercise. I still cook with more starches for my kids still at home, but they're not really fans of this type of Mediterranean food. Most of these recipes won't work for us for one reason or another. There's certainly a great variety and for people who don't need to watch their macros and want to learn some Mediterranean recipes it will be a great fit.

I read a temporary digital ARC of this book for review.

I think this is a great resource for Mediterranean food. It has all of the best known dishes as well as some modern interpretations. I would definitely use it if I wanted to cook something light and - for the most part - healthy. I loved the chapter on Tapas as well as some of the desserts. And I always look for ways to use fresh vegetables. I found the blurbs at the beginning of the book as well as introducing some of the recipes to be helpful and sometimes very interesting.

Thank you to the publisher for an advance copy of this book via netgalley!

So many recipes and a significant amount of them are different from the mainstream Mediterranean recipes you find in other books! They are also easy to make with clear instructions. Added bonus, most recipes will have a substitute sideline bar that explains how to do the same recipe with other ingredients or by adding meat, etc. Great idea!

This is a beautiful cookbook filled with healthy but mouth watering recipes. I love that most recipes include a picture even though it is a rather large collection. For some reason, that helps me when I am cooking and I will gravitate towards a recipe with a picture 9 times out of ten. There are so many recipes to choose from, that it may be the only cookbook you need to stick to a Mediterrean lifestyle of eating.

First let me start out by saying the positives.
1- The pics (and there are a lot which I love in a cookbook) are beautiful and made me hungry.
2- The recipes are well written and easy to follow step by step instructions.
3- HUGE plus is mostly easily attainable ingredients. And different variations of some recipes.
4- Perfect special occasion recipes that will really wow your family & friends.
5- There are different sections for everything so it makes it easy to look up a recipe for say fish or if you needed a dessert.

My only ehh (For me) I don’t know that I would pull this cookbook for every day recipes. Though you certainly could because the variety and amount of recipes is another positive. I love this cookbook and look forward to wowing my family. (And posting it all over Instagram bc I am making my own pita to go with my own hummus and baked feta)

I was very impressed with this cookbook that is filled with such a variety of Mediterranean recipes! From bread, pizzas, pastas, and desserts, there is a recipe for every occasion. Furthermore, there is a great assortment of easy, simple recipes to more complex. I loved the layouts of the recipes and the images that makes me want to make each one. The best part of this book is in addition to the great recipes that they provide, they also have suggestions of ways you can make the recipe different. Especially since I am no means a professional chef, I appreciate the insights on the different substitutions so that we can make the recipe in different way. A great cookbook and would highly recommend.

Hi everyone!
I am very excited to review this book. I’m Italian, but I don’t know many mediterranean recipes, so '1000 mediterranean meals' seemed a great book to try some traditional meals during these #covid days, where I try to stay safe at home as much as I can.
The recipes are very clear and easy to follow. I love the format, the pictures, the vibrant colours and variety of the recipes (it features spanish, italian, french, lebanese, egyptian, greek and many other countries’ recipes).
As all mediterranean meals, most of the recipes are balanced and healthy and if you're vegetarian there are a lot of options, in fact it even has a whole chapter dedicated to 'vegetables and vegetarian stuff.

The only two small things I didn't like are:
- there aren't many info on the origin of the recipe (it's not at all necessary but I think it's cool to know the story)
- as for the Italian meals, some are really not traditional. I know in the intro it says traditional and innovative recipes and I'm sure they are very good, but I would have preferred mostly traditional meals and not American-style ones like creamy linguine with shrimp

In conclusion this book is amazing and I can't wait to try some of the meals and impress friends and family!

1000 Mediterranean Meals
Every Recipe You Need for the Healthiest Way to Eat

This is a very nicely packaged collection of Mediterranean recipes. The recipes range from easy to moderate, although most seemed very achievable and delicious! The collection includes a lot of healthy, familiar comfort food, as well as a few more exotic dishes. A perfect book to gift, and definitely one to add to our collection.

This is a fantastic cookbook! The recipes are delicious and flavorful, but fairly simple at the same time. I am excited to try more of them as a quarantine activity. The book is aesthetically pleasing and includes so many wonderful recipes. I would highly recommend to anyone who loves Mediterranean food of any kind or anyone who loves food in general!

A gorgeous collection of meals centered around the Mediterranean. The photography is stellar and the recipes are clearly written. Healthful recipes are carefully created so the home cook can broaden their culinary style.

This is a fantastic cookbook that offers recipes for a variety of food choices, that could be considered as both traditional and non-traditional.
I liked the layout and loved that they included pictures of the food as I think that they act as a fantastic visual cue. The introduction was a nice added touch and I enjoyed the fact that we were provided with a background on the diet and the benefits it can offer. I also LOVED the inclusion of sections in each recipe that offered alternative add-ins. This is such a great idea as it reaches out to different palettes, whilst also encouraging people to try mixing things up a bit. Finally, the recipes/instructions were super clear and easy to follow.
If you're looking for a recipe book that offers fantastic variety and is also easy to follow, then I'd highly recommend this! I cannot wait to try out the arancini recipe!!

Many thanks to the author, publisher, and Netgalley for sending me a copy of this book in return for an honest review.

I absolutely love cookbooks!! I find it a very enjoyable hobby to pick up a cookbook and try out a new recipe or two! Needless to say, my family loves it too!! Even better, I now get to share my “keepers” with all of you!!

I found several things about 1000 Mediterranean Meals that I liked! I thought it was really smart to have an introduction to the Mediterranean way of eating for people that are new to it or thinking about trying it. I do not follow a Mediterranean lifestyle, but I do try to incorporate healthy meals into my weekly menu and there are plenty to choose from in this book! Another plus for me was that each recipe included alternative ingredients to try in the recipe so that the recipes never becomes boring. The photos of the food were beautiful and instructions easy to understand.

Here’s the best part…..I tried three recipes to share my thoughts with you!

First up was the Chickpea Tagine with Current Couscous. I'm a big fan of couscous. if you haven’t tried it, give it a try!! It's so easy to make but looks so fancy! Family or guests will be impressed! I used the alternative ingredient of adding squash to this dish and it went very well. Other options were zucchini, kale or eggplant.

Second, the Linguine with Pesto! Yum!! This was so good and will be a staple in my menu prep. It's made from basil, which I grow in my garden, so that's awesome and the additional ingredients I chose to use was walnuts and fresh string beans! I never though string beans would be a good add, but it was delish!

Last, I had to try a desert!! I went for the Classic Coffee & Chocolate Tiramisu! I’ve only had this desert when dining out and it’s on the menu. I don’t drink or use alcohol in my recipes, so I was very happy that one of the alternative ingredients was to use apple juice instead of rum to soak the ladyfingers. It seems like such a fancy desert in a restaurant, so I wasn’t sure if I could replicate that at home. It turned out amazing and to my delight, was very easy to make! Another score in the “impressed” department!

I recommend this cookbook to anybody that wants to add healthy meals to their menu!

This cookbook gets right down to business, offering a very cursory overview of the Mediterranean diet before getting into the recipes. Which is fine, because there are so many recipes. At least for me, when I think of a Mediterranean diet, I think of tomatoes and olives and not much else, so it was very inspirational to see the wide range of ingredients and foods included. There were even sections for pasta and bread, which surprised me, but I’m not complaining.

The other nice thing about this cookbook was that many of the recipes included suggestions for changing them up by using different ingredients. This was fun and opens up space for you to start making the recipes on your own.

Oh and bonus points for including some gluten-free recipes as well!

Even I, the self-confessed worst cook in the world, have been able to tackle these gems. Fully explained, easy to follow and colourful photos to help guide. (even though mine rarely turns out looking that food LOL)

In this year of restricted travel what a great way to revisit my favourite places in the Mediterranean.
Bringing some sunshine to wet, windy and freezing Scotland. There are even alternatives given in case you can't eat/find a particular ingredient (I'm a veggie who can't eat spicy food and doesn't like taste of alcohol).

Linguine with Pesto was my absolute fave! That is going into my roster of "I made this but it is edible" repertoire!

Superb!

I enjoyed this cookbook; it has lots of delicious-looking recipes that seem to be easy to follow. I also liked that each recipe had a picture to go with it.

Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for an advance copy of this book in return for an honest review.

I’m sure we’ve all heard this before, but the Mediterranean diet isn’t really a diet, just a healthier way to eat. There are 21 countries bordering the Mediterranean Sea and while there are cultural, ethnic, religious, economic and agricultural differences, the area has low occurrences of heart disease and obesity. Their eating habits these traits:

Food is fresh, unprocessed, unrefined and usually low in saturated and trans fats.
High consumption of fruits, vegetables, bread and other whole grains, potatoes, beans, nuts and seeds.
High consumption (by U. S. standards) of eggs, which are consumed up to 4 times a week.
Low to moderate consumption of dairy products and poultry.
Low to moderate consumption of alcohol.
Low consumption of red meat.
Preference for olive oil.

The food is beautiful as well as delicious, so perhaps making some dietary changes are easier. This cookbook is a definite place to start. The recipes are easy to prepare and traditional, and almost every one includes a few alternative ingredients to add variety to your table. My review of this book will touch on some of the traditional recipes, and the ones that were new, unusual or downright exotic.

Antipasti, meze and tapas are the small plates of food that begin a meal and are instrumental to the Mediterranean culture of eating slowly and sharing food, not to mention savoring the experience and companionship. While many similar ingredients are used, there are regional variations to old favorites such as hummus, tzatziki, eggplant dip, marinated olives and falafel. Recipes to help diversify your menu include asparagus wrapped in jamon, patatas bravas, manchego with peppers, artichoke and manchego rice cakes, Gibraltarian Swiss chard pie, deep-fried stuffed olives and cataplana (a stew of pork and clams).

Soups and salads are versatile and can be added to an entree, served with a small plate, or become a meal with the addition of some crusty bread. And if we think outside the box, they are also a healthy snack. The recipes include gazpacho, avgolemono, pipiranna, Nicoise salad, fatoush salad (with peaches, melon or potatoes), escalibada (grilled vegetables), tomatoes and herbes de Provence, spanish squash and apple, and looz shorba with onions, almonds and cream.

Breads and pizzas look so tempting! There is homemade pita bread, focaccia bread and pizzas of every combination including gluten-free (using polenta as the crust) and yeast-free. My favorite recipe from this section is pesto focaccia with a caprese salad on top.

Vegetable dishes use ingredients in atypical ways such as zucchini cake, classic Spanish tortilla, zucchini frittata, vegetable lasagna, vegetable ragu with a twist (addition of lentils), and tagines such as artichokes with lemon and mint, chickpea with currant couscous, or sweet potato and pomegranate.

Pasta and rice dishes include various risottos (basic butter or with the addition of scallops, chicken, sausage or parmesan), light and fluffy gnocchi, paella, and polenta with mushrooms. There is a Middle Eastern spaghetti dish (koazy al-macarona) of chicken with cinnamon-y spices and fresh tomatoes, which is then served with hard-boiled egg wedges.

Entrees of meat, poultry, fish and seafood sound mouthwatering. There are enough different types of dishes and variations to get you out of your cooking rut. There are empanadas, tagines, moussaka, cassoulet, kebabs, lasagne, ragus and, for all you fellow walnut lovers there is a nutty Circassian chicken. Fish and seafood recipes are plentiful and there is something for everyone’s taste: shrimp, lobster, mussels, a wonderful looking sea bass in salt crust, clams, squid monkfish, calamari, octopus and crab.

And finally, dessert! Satisfy your sweet tooth with semifreddo (which sounds lusciously creamy as it is semi-frozen ice cream), zabaglione, ricotta pudding, poached pears, baked peaches, Catalan cream, panna cotta, jam tarts, cakes and churros. I received an introduction to natas (Portugese custard tarts), Tuscan rice cake and Egyptian sweet couscous, which sounds divine. There is also a recipe for turron, which I have never thought of making at home.

These recipes start with the classics, and none are overly complicated. There are so many variations of each recipe that it will help to keep your menu fresh, delicious and interesting.

This is a very well thought out book and has some delicious appearing recipes, specifically for those who enjoy fish and tomatoes. Some recipes are for more adventurous eaters who appreciate pate and chicken livers and the like. Some of the recipes that appeal most to me however were linguini with creamy shrimp sauce, pumpkin gnocchi with butter sage, pesto and sundried tomato loaf and pesto focaccia with mozzarella. There are several things in here that I would thoroughly enjoy but because it's pretty fish heavy I personally don't find it to my personal tastes, hence the 4 stars. Overall though I think it's a beautiful well thought out book.

Thank you #netgalley for allowing me to review this beautiful book.

1000 MEDITERRANEAN MEALS by Valentina Harris is a cook book I would definitely recommend, especially as it contains "Every Recipe You Need for the Healthiest Way to Eat." Harris and the editors at Chartwell Books have compiled a sumptuous set of recipes. They are certainly a feast for the eyes as every recipe (ranging from appetizers, through soups, salads, breads, and several kinds of main entrees, to desserts and fruits) is accompanied by a gorgeous photo. I won't list all of the recipes I plan to try, but some include Sun-dried Tomato and Olive Sticks, Calzones, Marinara Pizza, and Polenta Pan Pizza with Roasted Vegetables. One of the nicest features of this book is that most recipes have a boxed section on each page which suggestions easy variations (e.g., using potatoes instead of mushrooms, changing the protein, or adapting the spices) which offer a great bonus in versatility and variety. The recipes themselves have a very clean, uncluttered presentation with generally 3 or 4 main steps and often a dozen ingredients or less. All that's missing is the nutritional information, but there is much here to enjoy (Crab Cakes, Grilled Swordfish ... OK, I said I wouldn't list all the ones I want to try).
4.5 Stars

1000 Mediterranean Meals by Valentina Harris
Every Recipe You Need for the Healthiest Way to Eat

With recipes from many countries and variations on each recipe this book provides many options and wide variety for the basic and more talented cook. I have to say that the recipes I have learned to make in Lebanon are not always the same as the ones in this book (hummus here Is not made with broth) but it was intriguing to see the changes in some old favorites and contemplate how those changes might make a dish I know well taste if changed according to the recipes I read.

The book begins with an introduction that includes what a Mediterranean diet is and why it is considered healthy then goes on to discuss equipment needed. The book’s sections include:
* Antipasti, Meze and Tapas (small dishes
* Soups and Salads
* Breads and Pizzas
* Vegetables and Vegetarian
* Pasta and Rice
* Meat and Poultry
* Fish and Seafood
* Desserts and Fruits
* Comprehensive index

I like the fact that since the recipes use whole foods that are commonly found in the Mediterranean it will make it easier to find the required ingredients and then create most of the recipes easily. Now, to find the book locally…hmm…

Did I enjoy this book? Yes
Would I consider giving it as a gift or buying it myself? I believe I would

Recipes from Spain, Italy, Greece, Portugal, Egypt, Turkey, France, Morocco, and Lebanon. The pictures make the food look so appetizing. Begins with information about a the Mediterranean diet and the health benefits. The information and history in each section was interesting. The author gives you a list of tools you would need and alternatives for the dishes like adding garlic or mint. Foods that I thought would be super hard to make were way easier to make, like calzones. I cannot to try some of these recipes.

1000 Mediterranean Meals is a well written attractive cookbook with recipes developed and curated by Valentina Harris. Due out 15th Dec 2020 from Quarto on their Chartwell Books imprint, it's 256 pages and will be available in hardcover format.

I liked the writing style and presentation of this book. The format is logical and easy to follow. I can imagine that the author is a gifted teacher in her cooking classes.

Although covering a large number of cuisines from several Mediterranean areas, the recipes are arranged by category: antipasti meze & tapas, soups & salads, breads & pizzas, vegetables & vegetarian, pasta & rice, meat & poultry, fish & seafood, and desserts & fruit.

Ingredient measurements are supplied in American standard measurements with some metric measures included (yay!). The nutritional information is not included. Each recipe includes a header with a short description of the recipe and approximate servings. Extra tips or recipe alternatives are listed in text boxes in the recipes. The recipes themselves are fairly straightforward and are made for the most part with easily sourced ingredients. Many are very simple, none of them are overly complex. The photography is abundant and clear; most of the recipes are illustrated simply and clearly. Pictures accompany the recipes set into a sidebar.

This is a large collection of recipes and even allowing for the fact that some of them are very similar to others in the same category, this will keep Mediterranean cooking fans going for ages. There are many simple "everyday" recipes which are anything but boring alongside fancier "special" dinner recipes. We tried several dishes and all of them were tasty and well written. (We didn't try any of the bread or dessert recipes, but I found no glaring errors with a quick read-through).

We're definitely going to try more of these recipes. Well written book, tasty recipes.

Five stars. This is a massive recipe book which will be used. It would make a superlative housewarming gift to a friend or family member living on their own - college student, new graduate, newlyweds, kids flying the nest, etc or a friend trying to eat more health consciously with better quality ingredients as well as a nice acquisition for the home library.

Disclosure: I received an ARC at no cost from the author/publisher for review purposes.

I love to review cookbooks focused on the Mediterranean diet - there is so much research to support the health benefits of this diet for longevity and disease prevention. I loved that this book included a variety of recipes from from the Middle East, North Africa and the Iberian Peninsula (in addition to Italy and Greece).

The recipes are beautiful, the photography is stunning. Although the recipes are unique the ingredients are readily available. I especially look forward to preparing Salt Cod-stuffed Peppers, Provencal Soup, Baked Feta and Walnut Salad, Classic Spanish Tortilla, and Basque-style Roast Fish.

Thank you, NetGalley and Quarto Publishing Group, for a digital ARC!

This is a comprehensive book on Mediterranean meals. I love that they seem easy enough for anyone and that the book makes this healthy type of cooking less intimidating. I'm thrilled by the recipes (can't wait to try the stuffed fried olives). Most of the recipes had photos. And many recipes offer other alternatives, i.e. adding Italian sausage or different veggies, with a detailed guideline for each. I plan to add this to my recipe collection. Highly recommended.

If you are interested in Mediterranean cuisines, this is the cookbook to have. It contains classic well-known recipes, along with ones I'd never heard of (e.g., Egyptian Sweet Couscous). All regions of the Mediterranean are included, as are all categories of foods. Most recipes are accompanied by an appetizing photo. Directions are easy to follow and suggestions for alternatives are provided. I'd definitely consider purchasing this cookbook, despite the easy availability of recipes online. A true classic!

A marvellous and comprehensive book of recipes, this is an invaluable addition to the kitchen bookshelf. We often hear of the benefits of the Mediterranean diet, and this contains the whole gamut of recipes from this area/culture/lifestyle, from Italy to Lebanon, Egypt, and more. Beautifully illustrated, and has both US and metric measures. In addition, there are tips for substituting ingredients too. I have made several recipes already, and have many more bookmarked.
Thanks to the publisher for a review copy.
