I throughly enjoyed reading this book and although I’ve attended many yoga classes in my time it was enjoyable to now understand the health benefits from deep breathing and the connection with the vagus nerve and calming of the central nervous system.
Recommend fully ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

A simple well laid outline for the beginner to the advance to learn about pranayama the yoga breath. For life style these days it is a handy tool that can be done in those few minutes to calm oneself down, or as a practice along with the yoga routine. Informative, and well done.
Given ARC by Net Galley and books-go-social for my voluntary review

This is a smaller book, solely because the author chose to focus on one essential piece of Yoga, the breath. Amazing as it sounds, even though who have no desire to exercise using the Yoga techniques can still receive benefits by learning and practicing how to properly breath.

I have revisited Yoga at different times during my adult life and have incorporated it into my life for the last ten years, exercising 5-7 times a week. I have no doubt as to the high level of benefits I have received, such as greater flexibility, balance, and in other physical areas such as keeping my blood pressure and heartbeat down (regularly around 110/70, with a heartbeat around 65). Although I work to regulate my breathing during my Yoga exercising, I have not worked specifically on the recommended breathing techniques. It was this reason that attracted me toward author Sundari Gibran’s book.

The first half of the book is aimed at beginners, introducing them to reasons why they should make the time to understand and incorporate proper breathing into their lives. Ms. Gibran cites the many health benefits, as well as outlining the consequences of neglecting this important part of our anatomies. Once the foundation was laid, she introduces some of the basic breathing exercises that almost anyone can practice.

The author offers a few books and websites for those who wish to pursue the study of Pranayama and Yoga. While all three are seeking people to join their paid courses, I found a lot of free info on yogapoint.com and doyou.com. I recommend this book to anyone who is seeking better health or to maintain and safeguard their current level of good health. Five stars.

My thanks to NetGalley and BooksGoSocial for a complimentary electronic copy of this book.

Great book on breath work, it's importance. While yoga flows from one pose to another, great breathing is something that helps depression, anxiety and life's stressors constantly. This is a book I'll keep referring too.
