First of all, I think following a young British Indian nurse was amazing, I rarely see Indian nurses represented in many books at all really, so this was the perfect read for me. Again, it’s a mystery thriller that I throughly enjoyed. Thrillers do take a lot for me to enjoy them because they can be so difficult to engage with and sometimes the plots are all over this place and they are rarely rated highly by me at all. But in this case I think everything was well done and executed perfectly. I’ll definitely pick up more from this author soon. 5/5 stars!

Taking place in Kanke, India, Vishal is the detective on the trail of a serial killer. There have been multiple murders, with multiple suspects, with multiple motives.

A psychoanalyst who practices at a psychiatric hospital is a consultant for the police. Hopefully, he can help them identify the man they're looking for .. and his motive. His nurse, Eva Black, is a British citizen who travels from London to India to begin work. She, too, gets involved in helping the doctor and the police in looking for a murderer.

The more they look, the more they seek answers, the more frustrated they become. This killer is absolutely brilliant .. and seemingly always more than one step ahead of the police.

This is not a thriller. It's more drinking a glass of wine and the warmth starts spreading slowly throughout. This is an evenly paced murder mystery, made even more interesting as it is full of historical information about India. There are twists and turns ... following the clues is like looking into a murky body of water without a flashlight. It's hard to stop reading this one.

This is the 2nd in this trilogy and I strongly recommend reading in order. FATAL BELIEF ends with a cliffhanger that will be examined more closely in the 3rd book. Good news ... third book (DAYBREAK) will be available November 2021.

Many thanks to the author / BooksGoSocial / Netgalley for the digital copy of this mystery. Read and reviewed voluntarily, opinions expressed here are unbiased and entirely my own.
