Former legendary rock star Bo “Peep” Scott insists on accompanying Ryn. With no living family, he understands her need to dig into her murky past. His teen-age abuse of drugs burned out much of his brains, but he intends to be there with love and support.

Well this was a roller coaster of a ride - this was my first exposure to the characters so it took me a while to get up to speed, but I did. Now I want to go back and read the other books in the series.

The blurb really appealed to me and didn't disappoint.. This was a real snuggle down and read in one session type of book.

I was given a free copy by the author and netgalley but the review is entirely my own.

This was a story full of secrets and murder. Ryn Davis goes to visit the man that her mother was in a committed relationship for years. In Ryn's early years her mother was a prostitute and she used to hear the men going in and out of the apartment as she was trying to sleep. Her mother then began a committed relationship with a billionaire that did not care about her past. Ryn was full of teen age rebellion during the years she lived with them. Ryn's mother has been killed in an accident that she feels was murder. The billionaire sends his private plane to bring Ryn to see him. He loves her despite the attitude she had when she lived with him. Ryn is accompanied by Beau. Beau is a former legendary rock star whose long-term drug use has burned out much of his brains'

Beau receives a certified letter from someone that claims that he and Beau are twin separated at birth. He needs Beau to provide protection for his teenage daughter from an international drug cartel that intends to kill him and ruin her life. This book was full of action and suspense. I recommend this book.

Ryn and Beau are going to Kansas City to visit her mother's dying boyfriend, William Ward White. Her mother lived with him for 16 years before she died. Ryn also was around him, and a royal pain in the ass towards him. He has more money than God. Steven White, the nephew, and Ryn don't get along any better. Beau on the other hand likes them both and gets along great with them. But he received a mysterious letter about a possible relative, problem is, he was an only child and inherited a ton of money. But the lawyer handling the case was murdered before anyone got to talk to him. Is this person really related or are they looking for a quick buck? There is more going on than meets the eye here. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

Ryn Davis is struggling with her past, present and future. Trying to make amends and understand her mother's boyfriend for the way she treated him as she was growing up, Ryn agrees to visit the billionaire. Along for the trip is her friend Beau, who finds himself in the middle of a dangerous game. of life and death. Ryn and Beau are in for the trip of their lives.

Fast-paced and raw, the mystery kept me reading and guessing until the very end. I love plot twists, turns and red herrings in a mystery and this one didn't disappoint! I enjoyed the relationship between Ryn and Beau and the relationship between Ryn and her mother's boyfriend, William, was bittersweet.

This was the first book in the series that I read and I was able to "catch up" quickly. Though now, I want to read the other books! I'm ready for more adventures with Ryn. Normally, I read books in the cozy mystery genre and this is in the Thriller/psychological suspense genre.

I received an ARC from NetGalley and the opinions expressed in this review are my own.
