Description

Humanity doomed. Aliens in peril. An unemployed geek to save them all…

Out-of-work cybersecurity entrepreneur Fitz needs a job fast. Frantic to make rent, the appearance of a nude redhead and a bizarre recruitment ad are too coincidental to ignore. But after accepting the cryptic gig, he’s shocked to wake up naked on a tropical planet ruled by free-loving cat-like humanoids short on virile males.

More than happy to snuggle with a young princess to help the natives with their fertility woes, the nerd struggles with the brutal training required to face a deadly foe. But when bloodthirsty dinosaurs prove less dangerous than a villainous AI bent on wiping out all living things, his pleasurable mission starts to feel like an assignment from hell.

Can Fitz survive nocturnal dinos, nubile fur folk, and evil tech to stop cosmic genocide?

Chromosome Quest is the rollicking first book in the Chromosome Adventures humorous science fiction fantasy series. If you like studly heroes, lovely ladies, and interstellar stakes, then you’ll adore Nathan Gregory’s futuristically sexy comedy.

I really enjoyed this story - the interesting world, and the things these characters have to contend with and work through. I was worried for a bit there! Looking forward to reading the next adventure!.

What a brilliant, in a way, topical, book. Out of this world - literally! A very good story that made me laugh- and think of life. I found myself nodding to some of the conclusions.

Loved it, can't wait for the next in the series.

Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher I read a free advance review copy of the book. This review is voluntary, honest and my own opinion.

Fitz is an out of work cyber security expert. Having a cup of coffee in NYC he noticed a beautiful redhead running naked through the streets. He applies for a strange job and ends up on another world battling dinosaurs and robots. This is the first book but Gregory in the Chromosome Series. I look forward to the sequel.

This book is quite unique and adventurous! I was a little thrown off at first because there were blatant taboos such as incest and sexual relations with minors, but the way it was explained, and the character interactions ALMOST made the taboos nonexistent. I found over 23 new-to-me words, which was exciting because the author really emphasized the importance of using a thesaurus in writing to excel the story's depth.

In my notes, I stated that a paragraph is repeated approximately 13.6% of the way into the book. There are tones that remind me of Alice in Wonderland, and Goldilocks and the Three Bears. This story is essentially a race to save humanity, but I don't know if we will ever get the answers we need.
