A sparkling and steamy Sapphic romance, Fly with Me by Andie Burke is filled with sharp banter and that sweet, swooping feeling of finding “the one” when and where you least expect it.

A one-way ticket to love or a bumpy ride ahead?

Flying-phobic ER nurse Olive Murphy is still gripping the armrest from her first-ever take-off when the pilot announces an in-flight medical emergency. Olive leaps into action and saves a life, but ends up getting stuck in the airport hours away from the marathon she's running in honor of her brother. Luckily for her, Stella Soriano, the stunning type A copilot, offers to give her a ride.

After the two spend a magical day together, Stella makes a surprising request: Will Olive be her fake girlfriend?

A video of Olive saving a life has gone viral and started generating big sales for Stella's airline. Stella sees their union as the perfect opportunity to get to the boys' club executives at her company who keep overlooking her for a long-deserved promotion. Realizing this arrangement could help her too, Olive dives into memorizing Stella’s comically comprehensive three-ring-binder guide to fake dating. As the two grow closer, what’s supposed to be a ruse feels more and more real. Could this be the romantic ride of their lives, or an epic crash and burn?

I loved Fly With Me! First time author Andie Burke delivers with a charming, sweet story filled with real life anxieties and fears. Olives fear of flying was intimately relatable as was Stellas drive to prove herself in her field. I laughed, I cried and I wrote down quotes. Grab yourself some Swedish Fish on Sept. 5th, and prepare yourself for Andie Burkes takeoff.

I was so excited to start reading this book, I started it the second I was able to download it from NetGalley. This was a super sweet romance with a lot of depth. I really loved both Olive and Stella and I felt that both these characters and their relationship had such strong development throughout the story. The fake dating trope slowly becoming one of my favorites and I thought it was done so well in this book! Also the fact that Olive hates flying and Stella is a pilot felt like the perfect opposites attract story line. The slow burn was perfect for these two characters. The banter was also so fun to read and the pop culture references were fantastic!

Olive's internal monologue was interesting to read about and often felt relatable as she worked through her anxieties. I really loved how anxiety was portrayed in this book, with both characters working through some of their struggles. I loved how both Olive and Stella coped in different ways and how it showed that no two people react to anxiety in the same way and how different coping mechanisms work. I loved that Olive had a support system in her coworkers and friends and how Stella was close to her father. As the book went on, I also loved that Olive and Stella started to trust and be there for each other and I felt that was one of the strongest aspects of their relationship. Overall, I really enjoyed reading Olive and Stella's story and I found myself rooting for them throughout!

If you're looking for a sweet and charming romcom, I would highly recommend this book! It's a great debut and I literally cannot wait to read what Andie Burke writes next!! This book comes out on September 5th, so definitely get your preorders in!

A well developed story line with numerous plot layers that came together to create an overall extremely endearing storyline. It also highlights the challenging dynamics of women working in male dominated industries and the severe burnout experienced by healthcare workers. I was rooting for this opposites attract couple the whole story!

Sincere thanks to NetGalley and St Martins Press for an advanced reader copy in exchange for an honest review.

This book was an amazing debut. A hilarious, queer, fake dating love story The characters are perfectly loveable. I appreciate that the two MCs have such well fleshed-out backstories that give them depth. They aren't just people in a (sometimes fake) relationship. They exist outside of it and have their own stories. I can't wait to see what else Andie Burke has in store for us!

Many thanks to Netgalley and St. Martin's Press for a copy of this novel. ARC provided in exchange for an honest review.

WOW! This debut was incredible. A sweet rom-com that took me on a rollercoaster of emotions.

The characters are relatable and well-developed, while still leaving room for growth as the story progresses. With entertaining side-characters and relatable references, this book is sure to warm the hearts of all those that pick it up! As soon as I began this book I couldn’t put it down, between the banter and slow-burn steamy scenes this isn’t one you want to miss.

Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for providing me with an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review.

This was a super cute romance! I felt for Stella and Olive who were both very relatable in their insecurities/anxieties and their family issues. I love a fake dating trope, and this book did a fabulous job with all the real-feelings confusion that it caused, while the humor did a nice job of balancing out the heavier side plots (family mostly but also Stella's career).

I'm going to start this review by saying that 1) I met my wife at the ATL airport, 2) my wife also went to Embry-Riddle (like Stella), and 3) I hate flying just like Olive.

When I say that this book had me hooked, I mean it. I devoured Andie Burke's debut novel in a record amount of time. I literally could not put the book down. I grabbed this book because I enjoyed the premise of the plot and thought it would sweet and interesting, but I stayed for the super witty writing and the slow burn romance between the two protagonists!

If you're looking for a fun, sapphic novel to read-- this is it. I cannot wait to see what else Andie Burke comes out with. A+ for writing and character development, AAA+++ for the spicy scenes as well. I also LOVED Gus and wish he had been real, primarily because he seems like the world's best dog.

Cannot recommend this book enough to all my friends. Go read it! Don't waste another moment thinking about it. Just grab it and devour it already!

This romance book has it all. Family drama, a meet disaster, insta-lust, a Disney first kiss, fake dating, insane chemistry, characters worthy of hate, and swoony declarations.
Olive is a grumpy nurse with an irrational fear of flying; Stella is an airline pilot with a sunshine disposition. These women meet after Olive saves the life of a passenger on one of Stella’s flights. After a magical weekend in Disney together (and one smoking first kiss), they part ways. However, social media explodes after someone recorded Olive’s brave mid-flight rescue and Stella’s airline and Olive’s hospital want to milk the exposure for profitable gains. To assist Stella in her quest to make captain, Olive agrees to a fact dating scheme to maximize both of their stories and exposure. What neither women expected was to fall head over heels in love. Incredibly likable main characters, fun secondary characters, and easy to hate villains made this romance a quick page-turner. And let’s not forget the spice; so much hot nuanced spice. I loved every second of this book! Thank you to NetGalley, St. Martin’s Press, and MacMillian audio for his e-ARC and ALC in exchange for my honest review.

Fly with Me really struck me. The author, Andie Burke, used her experience as a nurse during COVID as inspiration, and it really felt so accurate. As a healthcare provider, so much of it was so close to home and what I see too often.

Olive is trying to work on her brother’s “bucket list,” as he’s no longer able to while in a vegetative state. One of the things on the list is flying to Disney World and running the marathon, but a medical emergency mid-flight causes the flight to be rerouted. One of the pilots, Stella, discovers her after their landing and ends up driving her to Orlando.

Long story short, the media gets involved and Olive and Stella decide to “fake date,” but c’mon folks, they basically real date the whole time. Their relationship is adorable, full of cute and witty banter and sexual chemistry/tension. Their relationship progresses at a natural pace and it felt very realistic and sweet.

But what really stayed with me was Olive’s relationship with her brother and family. I work in an intensive care unit, and my team often has to have difficult conversations about goals of care, and family isn’t always on the same page. It can be so heartbreaking to watch a patient decline, with no hopes of improvement. So I really felt for Olive. I know how it feels to be a healthcare provider and know the science behind what’s happening and feel hopeless. The author’s writing truly brought me to tears; it was so real.

I couldn’t put Fly with Me down and I’m super interested in reading more from Andie Burke.

Thank you to St. Martin's Press for the review copy!

A sweet well plotted rom com about....fake dating! Olive's flight phobia has made it really difficult to travel but she's done it- and then someone on her flight to a marathon has a medical crisis and she's in her zone as a terrific nurse, Stella is the co-pilot, a co-pilot who is ready to move up to the captain's chair. Olive agrees to her plan to fake date but fans of the trope know this is going to turn to more, What makes this different (and funny) is the careful notebook of fake dating. It's also a thoughtful look at anxiety, moving up in your career and the often unacknowledged trauma of health care workers. And it's a love story. Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC. A very good read.
