Description

This is a boys' love novel set in the omegaverse.

Liam is a dominant alpha. He's earned himself a great job at a great company, and alongside his recessive alpha buddy Nathan, things can't get much better. That is until after a night of drinking games with Nathan. Liam wins himself a fully paid evening at the nearby omega brothel known as the Omega House. Liam's never been fond of brothels or omegas, but at Nathan's insistence, he gives it a shot.

He has no intentions of actually participating with whatever omega he chooses. Still, upon meeting the mysterious and alluring Raven, a recessive omega, he finds himself inexplicably drawn back to the Omega House. While Raven and Liam grow closer and closer physically, their emotional ties are limited by Raven's refusal to be owned or bonded to any alpha. Liam could easily dominate Raven and make him his, but surprisingly he would much rather be dominated by him.

Can Liam overcome the instinct he has to dominate and make Raven his? Will he be able to break down the walls Raven has built around his heart? Or will Raven slip out of his grasp?

Dominate Me by Eve Healy is a captivating boys' love novel set in the omegaverse that tells the story of Liam, a dominant alpha who never had any interest in omegas until he meets Raven, a mysterious and alluring recessive omega. After winning a fully paid evening at the nearby omega brothel, Liam finds himself inexplicably drawn back to Raven, and their physical connection grows stronger by the day. However, their emotional ties are limited by Raven's refusal to be owned or bonded to any alpha.

The author does an excellent job of exploring the dynamic between Liam and Raven and the struggles they face in trying to reconcile their instincts and desires. The story is told from Liam's perspective, and the reader gets a deep insight into his thoughts and feelings as he navigates his attraction to Raven.

The relationship between the two main characters is complex and nuanced, and the author does a great job of building the tension and chemistry between them. The sex scenes are steamy and well-written, but what really makes this book stand out is the emotional depth and complexity of the characters.

Overall, Dominate Me is an excellent addition to the omegaverse genre and a must-read for fans of boys' love novels. It explores themes of dominance, submission, and emotional vulnerability in a way that is both compelling and thought-provoking. Highly recommended.

A huge thank to Netgalley and Eve Healy for giving me a chance to read Dominate me in exchange for my honest review.

Let's start by saying that, the omegaverse vibes were immaculate. As someone who has read more than a few stories with the omegaverse trope, I had high expectations and was not disappointed.
Liam was perhaps the sweetest alpha to ever exist and he was so thoughtful and considerate of Raven at all given times, it was the very least swoon worthy. His connection with Raven and his struggle to not be like any othere Alpha were the driving force of this story, as was Liam fighting his instincts and not scare Raven away. It made me root for him from the beginning and I was aching with him when he was seperated from Raven.
As for the MM action, oh boy it was hot. This is a BL novel and going in you are prepared for some steamy scenes and in all honesty it was some of the best written action I've read in this context (and I've read plenty).
I couldn't find any trigger warnings but two : mentions of abortion and mentions of forced sex/rape.
That alone made this novel a cute and pleasant read and the bonus content with Nathan -this story's instigator- had my reader heart jumping with joy because the only question I had when i finished the book was "what about Nathan ?" and then I had my answer and i was not expecting that for him. All I can say is that all of the boys had their happy ending.

I enjoyed this book more than I thought I would.
From the book description and title, it is obviously an erotica BL novel but it is way more emotional than you would think. Both our main characters have work to do to fully trust each other, especially Raven but Liam is patient and compassionate and ready to give time and space to Raven even if it is against his Alpha nature.

The dynamic of wilful surrender from Liam to Raven was so beautifully written and fully exposes the need for vulnerability of both characters and of a relationship based on personality rather than what their physiology is. I have read many omegaverse including with male omegas but it never delved deeper into power dynamics for male omegas and what their status would mean in society. I enjoyed discovering more of what Eve Healy created here in terms of an omegaverse world and what she adds to this sub-genre.

The intimate scenes between both characters were very steamy of course but also very sweet and it made me feel like every detail was serving the purpose of depicting the vulnerability of the characters and building intimacy between them.
