What a fun book. I loved that there were superstitions from all over the world and many (even from the US) that I hadn't heard before. I liked that it balanced the fun with science and possible explanations or true/false determinations from scientists (all without insulting/condescending). I found the sections of personal superstitions/rituals of various pop culture individuals to be really fun to read about. The illustrations were lovely and the whole tone of the book sparks conversation and will be enjoyed by kids and adults.

This was exceptionally informative and cutesy at the same time! Reading about these things we all know in this format was neat. I also loved the illustrations and thought they brought that perfect something to it.

I absolutely love this book!
I loved the illustrations and I learning about all the traditions.
I believe in superstitions and some I have heard of before but there were alot of new ones that I found so interesting.
This is such an informative book! I enjoyed reading about other cultures and what others see as luck some may think otherwise.
Thank you to NetGalley and DK Children for an eARC in exchange for my honest review.

Thank you Heather Alexander and NetGalley for the ARC. I leave this review voluntarily and happily. Also thank you publishers for your hard work!
The pictures and the illustrations I absolutely enjoyed. My nephew absolutely loved them as I showed them to him. Reading through this I had no idea there was so much good luck and of course bad luck. Not only that the superstitions out there. This book is super informative and I definitely will re read it in the future if not sooner rather than later. I loved the writing style and the colors were absolutely bright and welcoming.
Thank you once again for approving me to read this book it definitely earned every star!

DK hits it out of the park with another great book to add to our family library! Heather Alexander has formatted, written, and illustrated one of the coolest collection of superstition stories and information. The outline of the book is clear, fascinating, colorful, easy to absorb, and extremely interesting. It was surprising to find some of my own superstitions/luck traditions in the book, as I had no idea where it came from! Highly recommend for fun family reads!

This book is outstanding and full of background information to soooooo many myths and superstitions! After just a few minutes of reading, I learned the background to so many different stories and superstitions that I have heard my whole life but never knew where they came from. So cool!! I absolutely can’t wait until this book is published, I will absolutely be purchasing a copy. Fantastic illustrations, awesome information in small doses - this is a fabulous book for adults and children.

For years I have done a "holiday of the day" in my classroom, partly to show students that there is something worth celebrating every day, and partly to introduce them to different cultures and traditions. Before major events like exams or graduation, I do a "good luck ceremony" and introduce a different good luck tradition. Thus, you can only imagine my glee when I saw this book!
This is a great resource for me, and by keeping it on my classroom shelf it will be a great, fun resource for my students. I can imagine offering an incentive where the winner of whatever "contest" will get to choose the next good luck ceremony or which passage to read from this book.
Because this is written in a simple format, with lots of great illustrations, the time I used to spend on research will be truly minimized. Such a fun book!!
Thank you to NetGalley and DK Children for the ARC in exchange for my honest opinions.
