Being an Australian, we do love a bit of outdoor cooking so I always love to read about new ways to cook a great BBQ meal that everyone will enjoy. It has all the hints and tips you need along with some very tasty recipes that I can't wait to work my way through.
There are appetizers, all forms of meat, seafood, vegetables and a few extras. I also like the bio from the author to get an insight into her life and cooking. The recipes seems straight forward and the photos did make me hungry. I have tried a couple of recipes already (the baked brie is to die for and the double cut pork chops with bourbon glaze, oh yum!).
A great book for outdoor eating and entertaining and one that any good BBQ'er would love.
Thank you NetGalley and Familius for giving me the opportunity to read and review this book.
Previously, I was not familiar with Aly Romero, but I'll keep an eye out for whatever she does next!
As a fellow grill enthusiast, I was thrilled to see a grilling book written by a female chef! Aly showcases bold flavors, uses a wide range of ingredients and adds her own personal flair to elevate the dishes. The recipes are presented in an easy-to-follow format, with uncomplicated instructions and accompanied by mouthwatering photos.
Another helping? Yes, please. This girl sure knows her way around a grill!
I was impressed by the variety of recipes, clear instructions with some pro tips includes and truly beautiful images! I am looking forward to trying some of the recipes this summer!
This is the first time I have heard of Aly Romero. The recipes were all well laid out with easy to follow instructions and pictures. The recipes look delicious. It is great to see a female griller. This book was aimed at using a smoker which I don’t have. I only have a gas grill. f
Gas Fire Heat by Aly Romero is a lip-smacking and juicy cookbook full of barbecue/grilling recipes. Aly is a private chef and appeared on Food Network. Gas Fire Heat is her first foray into the cookbook world. I'm so glad she went this route! Few cooking methods come close to the satisfaction of grilling, barbecuing and smoking regardless of the climate. If I can grill at -40C, weather isn't an excuse! Thankfully, there is plenty of inspiration here with swoon-worthy photographs.
This is one of those books I can flip open and point and about 99% of the time would happily cook what my finger landed on. Though I have celiac (there are no substitution options or nutritional information here) most things are easily adaptable.
You will find many old favourites and traditional recipes here but with that special extra something. Examples include Pastry-Wrapped Brie with Roasted Grapes (I won a national contest creating a savory roasted grape recipe...they really elevate a dish). Garlic Butter Monkey Bread with Marinara, Garlic Lemon Pepper Wings, Citrus Slaw, Smoked Meatballs, Basil Vinaigrette and All-Purpose Seasoning. But there's so much more.
The recipes not the tiniest bit daunting and would be appreciated by beginner cooks. Experienced cooks may be reminded of something they haven't made for ages and anyone between will be inspired to heat up their barbecue.
My sincere thank you to Familius and NetGalley for providing me with a digital copy of this delectable book.
This is a well done cookbook and will be enjoyed by new cooks as well as experienced cooks. There are lots of photos which help so much to see what your dish should look like. The instructions are clear and the recipes are varied. This is a fun book and I will reach for it many times to try all the recipes.
