It’s rare I come across a cookbook that truly impresses me and Nosh did exactly that! Marketed as a plant powered cookbook celebrating Jewish culinary history, it contains over 80 innovative recipes all with STUNNING images.

Not only is it gorgeous, but the recipe layout and icons for each recipe make it effortless to navigate, regardless of dietary restrictions. As a long time vegan I really appreciated the clear egg and dairy callouts, and also appreciated that a majority of the baked goods (that are much harder to modify on the fly) were egg and dairy free as written. The notes and variations were also incredibly thoughtful and often answered any questions I had on the recipes.

I do plan on coming back to update this review once I’ve made more of the recipes from this book, but I have over 40 I’ve flagged to make (which is a wild number for one cookbook!)

I do also want to say I think this cookbook is easily for anyone. Most recipes use easily accessible ingredients, and have clear easy to follow instructions for newer home cooks, while there’s also enough innovation to excite more experienced chefs as well.

To summarize, Noah is a visually stunning yet easy to use cookbook with innovative recipes both for special occasions and every day meals. I’d highly recommend it to anyone looking for more plant based options!

I enjoyed reading Nosh by MIchah Siva. You will fall in love with all the amazing recipes and photos. I received an ARC of this book courtesy of NetGalley and the publisher. All opinions expressed in this review are my own and given freely. Happy Reading!

My husband and I have been waiting for a book like Nosh to come out. He has been vegan for four years and I am trying to live a more plant-forward lifestyle. It's been very hard to make our favorite Jewish holiday recipes, such as matzo ball soup and brisket. Micah Siva has created the perfect cookbook for us. The recipes are very easy to follow. The photos are gorgeous and she does a great job of adapting our favorite Jewish foods, such as gefilte fish, hamantaschen and blitzes. This is not a strictly vegan cookbook, but Siva gives vegan alternatives when she does use eggs or dairy in a dish. I can't wait to use these recipes for the upcoming high holidays!

That was beautiful! First of all, I loved the pictures. So bright and cheery. Secondly, I loved the recipes and their creativity. The one thing that makes a cookbook stand out is that it should inspire/excite you to cook (well I think so anyway) and this hit the spot. There's variants for each recipes and honestly quite flexible. The ingredients list wasn't overwhelming or intimidating and many recipes are quite useful for people who work or are in college. Many of them can be meal prepped. There's also a mix of comforting, sweet, spicy and fancy which is to say something for everyone.

Thanks to the publisher for the ARC!

This is the best cookbook I've come across in years! The recipes are vegetarian/vegan twists on traditional Jewish dishes. I'm not Jewish myself, but I have Jewish friends. Having veg versions of the recipes for food I've enjoyed with them in the past is amazing!

What I love:
-The adaptations are really creative, sometimes swapping meats for proteins like tofu, tempeh, or chickpeas, but also for veggies like cauliflower or celeriac!
-The photos are bright and colorful!
- The recipes are marked with allergens and dietary restrictions for quick reference(contains eggs, contains dairy, gluten-free, vegan, and Passover friendly!)
- It has full menu suggestions for several Jewish Holidays

I really enjoyed looking through these recipes and I can't wait to try some for Shabbat and really all the time. I think many people will like the options of foods here.

Thanks NetGalley for this ARC.

Loved this cookbook so much that I got a hard copy! I have recommended to friends and family, and can't wait to cook all the recipes I haven't tried yet. This fills a much needed gap both culturally and publication-wise, and I'm so excited to finally be able to try all the foods that I've spent my whole life watching other people eat!

This book is pretty and the recipes seem straight forward and easy to follow. I'm looking forward to trying a few. The recipes are not fully plant-based, but there are substitutions listed for most.

I loved this book so much! Thank you to NetGalley and the Collective Book Studio for the cookbook. I really enjoyed the new takes on classic recipes that I didn't think could be done with plant-based ingredients. In particular, I'm excited to try making the hamantaschen. Highly recommend!
