I enjoyed Barney Cargile’s Advent devotional so much that I just had to read this one for Easter. And I was not disappointed. The author has a wonderfully easy style, that is open and honest, brief yet meaningful, while remaining consistently readable and applicable to our lives today. Embedded in scripture throughout and illustrated with memorable true stories, each morning and evening entry shows his heart for the Savior and his desire to share the love and sacrifice of Christ with his readers. I look forward to reading more by Mr. Cargile and sincerely hope he will keep writing. I would love devotionals on marriage or for Thanksgiving, but I will read anything he writes. Even if Easter is now behind you for the year, this is an encouraging hope and faith filled book to pick up any time for yourself or a gift. Don’t miss it!

This was a great quick read for the lent season. It made me think differently and challenge beliefs.

One of the most unique devotionals I have ever read. Written in a deeply moving, engaging style combining the solemn tone with carefully-placed humour, this book is a wonderful guide through our journey as Christians walking by the side of Our Lord Jesus Christ as He lays down His Life for our deliverance.

Devotionals for the morning and the evening of each day, dedicated to the events of the Holy Week, enriched with true experiences of ordinary people like you and me, which mirror the events of Jesus' last week on Earth. I copied entire chapters in my Bible journal and my Bible and I enjoyed every minute of it.

No matter your denominational (I am Greek Orthodox), this book is a friend that will accompany you during the most beautiful and most psychologically demanding week of the year

Many thanks to Our Daily Bread Publishing and NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.
