Description

Deepest loyalty. Fiercest defiance.

I never wanted to fall in love. My sister’s disappearance damaged me for such things. I’ve devoted my life to finding her—no matter where that leads me.

I could never have imagined it would bring me to him. A human with haunting celadon eyes and a determination that rivals my own. He’s strong, brash, and gorgeous.

Maybe that’s why I was caught off guard when he acknowledged that I was a covert agent. It’s a secret few know, and if word gets out, I’m as good as dead.

Too much rides on my identity remaining hidden. I have no choice but to help him navigate the perilous depths of the Below—and all who reside there.

But the lines that were once so vivid between us slowly begin to blur. We have only each other to survive and trusting him with my life is one thing. With my heart…that’s something I can’t even consider.

Yet, I can’t stop wondering what his lips would feel like against mine. I can’t help the ache I feel to be near him. And I can lie to him, but not myself. I crave his hard body next to me.

I never wanted to fall in love…but he stole my heart before I had a chance to safeguard it.

Now fate is pulling us apart, but I intend to fight for him. For us.

Even if it means my death.

New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Donna Grant weaves a captivating story of daring choices, unlikely alliances, and the enduring strength of hope in the thrilling third installment of her acclaimed Elven Kingdoms series.

Loved reading the mesmerizing and spellbinding paranormal story. While Farah, a wood elf, was working undercover in Mortham, a bomb goes off, and Farah finds herself a prisoner by a human, Rohan. Read the highly recommended, wonderfully written, and a must read riveting story. Can't wait the next story in the series by the phenomenal author, Donna Grant!

I was riveted! This book was a joy to read. Farah has such determination and loyalty. Her strength in the end is astounding. The person behind the evil of Shaldorn is shocking and totally unexpected. I loved this story and highly recommend it.

The saga continues with the deviousness of the masters and those elves that are trying to take them down. In Storm Wood, Farah, an undercover elf for Durga, is looking for her sister while she is undercover in Mortham. Rohan, a human, is in the latest group of slaves coming to Mortham, but he is secretly searching for his sister who was kidnapped from his small village. Farah and Rohan have more in common than they initially realize, when they start out as enemies - or so they think. Good book in the latest installment. 4.5 out of 5 stars.

This was a really good read. I will be honest I went into this blind I didn’t read books 1 and 2 but I honestly didn’t feel like I was lost reading it. I am definitely a huge fan of fantasy Romance and this fave me everything I was looking for. From a strong fmc to great world building.

Another amazing story by Donna Grant. Donna Grant has been on my go to authors for five years and she never misses. This is another great story however as it can be read as a standalone, I would not recommend it. I can’t wait for more.

I really enjoyed this Arc from netgalley! I loved the atmosphere, mystery, romance, and a touch of danger that Donna Grant created! This is book 3 in the Elven Kingdoms series and it’s very entertaining.

This book has a darker, moodier vibe with a strong heroine at the center and a plot that slowly pulls you deeper into the forest… and the secrets it hides.

I delved into this book without reading the others and it wasn't such a bad experience. So, if you're interested in it and it's a new series to you, go for it. It has magic, fae's, twists and turns, and an engaging story plot. I did find it incredibly annoying that Rohan, a human, wad casually also looking in Mortham for his missing sister....it seemed to me too linear and convenient. The rest was enjoyable. I would go back and read the previous books.

What can I say Donna did it again, I can never fault her writing or books and she is always a must read for me. The characters grow and develop so well and always have a flaw they can work on the world building is right on par and I am never bored as I read always turning the page and staying up past my bedtime to finnish.

You can't go wrong with this series! Fae, magic, evil baddies trafficking fae and humans, conspiracies, betrayals, and yep a good amount of sizzle and emotion. A rich and complex world brings everything to life and characters are so real you feel you could know them. Great series, this is the third, but can be standalone - then you will want to backtrack the first two!

In Storm Wood we meet Farah, an elf who is desperate to find her missing sister, believed to have been taken to Mortham, the latest site of evil activities. While undercover at Mortham, Farah meets Rohan, a human, also looking in Mortham for his missing sister. With quite a few unexpected twists in trying to reach their mutual goals, they manage to go from enemies to lovers. While it's not necessary to have read the two previous novels in the Elven Kingdoms series, it helps to clarify some of the names mentioned throughout this novel and the various types of evil beings Farah and Rohan encounter. Eager to read Mountain Fire, the upcoming novel in this series to find out what happens next. The Epilogue offers hints about things to come.

In this twisting tale of fantasy and mystery, two characters, Farah and Rohan, are in desperate search of their missing sisters at Mortham, a place where evil lurks. A forbidden romance, this high-stakes enemies-to-lovers story will have you gasping and swooning with each page turn of danger and intrigue! An absolutely astounding third instalment from the Elven Kingdom series by Donna Grant, I highly recommend this book for all romantasy readers.

This is a voluntary review of an advanced copy.

Ronan and Farah have the same goal - to save their sister but they each have their own style of rescue which pits them against each other for a bit. Ronan is human and Farah is an elf so there is natural distrust and a bit of racial inequity so this is a bumpy start to their journey.

The finally have to trust each other and work together and are joined by previous characters from the series. The book is filled with so much drama, action and a small kindling of desire that it was hard to put down.

Wish I could make more comments but that would be giving away important spoilers that I did not seeing coming and don't want to give anything away.

Great series and look forward to the next book.

Storm Wood (Book 3 of Elven Kingdoms) by Donna Grant is an immensely satisfying read with a dark dramatic beginning, a dangerous fast paced storyline, and a satisfying ending that setups a delicious next book to the series.

In the front of the book the author provides the readers with a map of Zora and descriptions of the 7 Races of Elves to refer to while reading this series. It help readers with the vast number of characters in this series.

Readers will delight in the descriptive scenes that create a world that keeps you glued to the pages reading. I always plan my reading so I have enough hours to read any book by Author donna Grant in one sitting.

Farah is the tough as nails main female character who is an agent trying to find her missing sister. Readers should be prepared for how deep she is into this hidden community of evil doers as there are some very graphic scenes. That being said it didn't interrupt my sleep and was handled with finesse.

Rohan, male main character, is more than he appears and I knew within a few pages that I'd be deeply satisfied with him. His tough as nails but very caring manner are a great personality combination.

I am looking forward to the next book in the series and hope it involves Reva and Dain.

Not to be remiss but I really recommend that you read “Rising Sun” book one of the Elven Kingdoms to get the full flavor of this series.

I gave it 5 STARS.

I received this book for free from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.

Let’s be real: we’re somewhere around book eighty-something in Donna Grant’s sprawling Dark Universe, and somehow—somehow—she’s still serving fresh ideas, sharp twists, and characters that crawl under your skin (and occasionally stab you in the back). That kind of creativity? Legendary.

Storm Wood is another dark gem—less a romance, more a high-stakes dance between trust, survival, and truths that bite. Farah, a wood elf on a mission gone sideways, and Rohan, a human leader shouldering more than any mortal should, are forced into uneasy partnership. Sparks? Maybe. Tension? Absolutely. The romantic thread is barely visible—but it’s there, tangled in angst and necessity.

This isn't your light-hearted lovers’ tale. It's gritty, twisty, and brimming with moral complexity. The ensemble cast is rich, the danger is constant, and the stakes—emotional and literal—just keep climbing.

Donna Grant proves once again that the darkness she writes is never hollow—it’s layered, bold, and full of meaning. If you're here for brooding intensity and shadowy truths with just a dash of romantic heat, Storm Wood won't disappoint.

And honestly? I’ll keep following wherever this dark, glorious universe leads. Nearly 90 books and still going strong—that’s magic.

Dark, dangerous, and deeply romantic — Storm Wood sweeps you into a world of ancient secrets and intense chemistry. Donna Grant delivers a moody, atmospheric fantasy with just the right balance of mystery and magic.

The tension? Impeccable.
The setting? Hauntingly beautiful.
The romance? Swoon-worthy.

If you love tortured heroes, badass heroines, and a dash of the supernatural, this one’s for you.

Would I walk into Storm Wood? Only if he’s waiting there.

In this enemies to loves tell, both Farah, a wood elf, and Rohan, a human, are trying to find people would had vanished. This book is well written and very enjoyable. It is part of a series however I read this book before I read the second book. I did not think I missed anything by not reading the second book.

This book was an absolute delight to read! It had everything I look for — engaging writing, memorable characters, and a story that stayed with me long after I turned the last page. The author’s voice is distinct and compelling, making it easy to get lost in the world they created, no matter the genre.

I'm incredibly grateful to the publisher for the early copy. It was such a joy to read this in advance, and I can’t wait for more readers to experience it. Highly recommend!

I love these elves, but then I love anything she writes. This is Farah and Rohans story. When a undercover wood elf looking for her sister is caught in an explosion, a human rescues her. He has ulterior motives, he is looking for his sister!
I received a complimentary copy of this book from NetGalley. The opinions expressed in this review are completely my own. Thank you for allowing me to review
