I'm a huge fan of Owen's because I enjoy her writing style and she covers topics I identify with. Her latest speaks to me directly. Letting go of fear to live the life I'm meant to - yes, please! It's just not that easy, and Owen's writes all about getting through the blocks. I found the steps to freedom from fear easy to learn and implement. This is a book I want a lot of my friends to read! Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC.
I highly recommend this book to anyone who needs the push to work on themselves and change their way of living. I enjoyed the approach In this book and the section at the end of each chapter that makes you interact with it, write things down, answer questions honestly. It really helps put things into a better perspective and makes you think. All in all I would definitely read from Andrea Owens again.

The chapter on “how you do one thing is not how you do everything” really resonated with me. Although, the chapter was about keeping a flexible mindset, I started reading it with my recent personal experience in mind and the logic she presented still worked. I have been grieving recently and was struck by the realization that my grieving process isn’t the same from one person to another. It is all grief, I just cope with it in different ways. This was hard because I really on my established coping mechanisms to get me through. In the chapter, Andrea acknowledges that change and adaptable is hard in the face of instability, but you create greater resilience by being challenged to change.
If you are like me and the title of each chapter in this book spawns a memory, or a feeling, that you will carry with you as you move through the chapter, then you will find great wisdom and insight with each time you pick this book up.
Not only did the title speak to me, but the tagline “25 Bold Moves to Get Honest, Face the Hard Stuff, and Show Up for Yourself” really caught my attention. Showing up for ourselves…easier said than done right? Andrea wrote this book like she was conversing with a friend. It’s easy to read, and not clinical filled as so many self-help books are these days. Her 25 moves are easy to achieve, and the best part? If you only need to heed to 10 of them, you’ll still be better off. Chapter 7 “You Will Disappoint People, and Chapter 15 “Treat Your Trauma with Respect” were the two that I really took notes on. Reiterating the importance of setting boundaries with those we are closest to, and holding space for trauma are things that I am working on thought my journey. It’s good to see so many suggestions that are not only easy to follow, but put’s OUR needs front and center.
Thank you to NetGalley and Sounds True Publishing | St. Martin's Essentials for providing an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest feedback.
