Description
(Except Brooks... he's probably sailing around the world with Skye by now. And Cameron, who's having too much fun sparring with Margaret to think about love. And Christopher, who's only on the look-out for a congressional seat and absolutely. nothing. else.)
Preston Winslow has a heart as open as the sky and room in his life for someone special. When he falls in love with Broadway actress, Elise Klassan, he holds nothing back.
Elise, who has made tremendous sacrifices to forward her career, is swept off her feet by handsome, charming Preston...but the stage has been her first love for so many years, she doesn't know if there's room for Preston in her life. When the day comes that she must choose between her ambition and her heart, she profoundly hurts the one man who could have made her happy.
Two years later, Elise has become a world-famous actress and Preston is a very successful lawyer. But fame has not equaled happiness for Elise, and Preston is much too bitter and cynical to ever consider falling in love again.
Is it possible that the only person who can mend Preston's heart is the one who originally broke it? Only if Elise can figure out a way to make him believe in love all over again.

Preston and Elise were perfection together. The soul deep connection and magnetic chemistry were beautiful to behold. Katy Regnery did a wonderful job of letting the characters become friends and slowly build up to something more. The slow progression into love is what made it so heartbreaking when these two people were apart. Elise was definitely a go-getter when it came to following her dreams and that tenacity was a central part of her character. Preston led with his heart and that is what made me his biggest fan. Proposing to Preston is really something special. Each time I read a Katy Regnery book I grow more fond of her as a writer.

Once again Katy Regnery’s newest book had WOWed me! Proposing to Preston is a five star plus more read. This is the second book in the Winslow Brother’s Series which is also tied the English Brothers Series all by Katy Regnery.
First of all you need to know Preston is HOT and rich. Living in New York City he ends up at an off, off Broadway play which is awful. While there, the leading lady Elise caught his attention and later caught his heart. Preston and Elise know their timing is bad and try to walk away, unsuccessfully! Both are in love with each other and move into marriage. Neither is ready and both are left with a devastated heart on separate coasts. Elise returns to find Preston again but the pain is still strong for him.
I loved this book. Katy Regnery has managed to portray two people who are so sweet and caring, yet sufficiently realistic to the reader. It is a gift. The understanding and pureness of the characters is what made the story so heartfelt. There were parts that were so touching, that I couldn’t wipe off the tears fast enough to read.
This is a must read for all romance lovers

Proposing to Preston is the first book I have read from author Katy Regnery and it definitely won't be the last. I found the characters to be interesting and easily identifiable with the world we live in. The plot moved along at a steady pace and I liked the way Ms. Regnery combined the past with the present. Do yourself a favor and have some tissues handy, because a few of the scenes will definitely cause you to shed a tear or two. Each book in this series is about one of four very wealthy brothers. Preston Winslow is the focus in this installment.
Preston's dream of making the Olympic rowing team came to an end when he injured his shoulder. So he had no choice but to go with his Plan B, an attorney that specializes in sports and entertainment. Preston meets the love of his life, Elise Klassan, at an off-off Broadway show, which she happens to be starring in. Elise left her Mennonite homestead in upstate New York to pursue a career in acting. She has a ton of talent and is discovered at the very same show Preston is attending for the second time. They fall madly in love very quickly, which results in marriage, a two-year separation and a homecoming for the record books.
I liked this book. Ms. Regnery writes with a lot of emotion and her characters completely reflect that style. The sex scenes are not only hot, they are loving as well. Overall, this is a solid contemporary romance and I am looking forward to reading the next book in the Winslow Brothers series.

This is the first time that i have read a book from this author. I'm impressed. Both characters blend well together. Even after two years together it was like they haven''t even been apart for long. They had what they called a whirlwind romance "instalove" It truly in the past but when fast love comes to play problems always seem to rise. Fast forward to the past two years after. They cross paths again. They both want to make amends and make things work. Over all it was a nice read.
Review will be up when blog tour date comes up.

*Happy sigh* No, really. I am seriously doing the happy sigh thing over this book. It was a sweet, quick and engaging read that pulled practically every emotion known to man out of me while reading it, even a few sniffles which doesn’t happen all often. And then there was the fact that I actually HAD to talk myself into putting it down because I had things that I had to do and putting them off was not an option.
Proposing to Preston is a well written and engaging second chance at love story that is told in two parts: When Preston and Elise first meet then when they collide once more after being separated for two years and I must admit that I liked that it was done in this way rather than flashbacks peppered throughout the book, not that there aren’t a few, but this way I was able to focus better and found that I really liked both of them a lot. While raised in very different worlds, they both had drive and ambition and an inherent kindness that called to each other. Knowing this had me rooting for them to end up together. But as much as I liked them, I did get frustrated with them at various points, okay I got pissed off with them, but only because of the situations they found themselves in and their handling of them.
But what I enjoyed the most was how the story unfolded. Knowing that they are separated by a choice made by Elise had me turning the pages in anticipation to see just how it all went down and when the first hint finally came to light I couldn’t help but cringe. And when it came to pass...let’s just say I almost tossed my e-reader into the freezer. Almost. As I said already, the writing was engaging and the story flowed well and I didn’t feel lost in anyway since I didn’t read the first book in the series, so this one can definitely be read as a standalone, but will be adding it to my TBR list because I really liked the Winslow family members.
The Bottom Line: Fun, sweet read that’s perfect for summer!

Proposing to Preston Review 4 Stars
Do you believe in love at first sight? How about insta-attraction at first site?
I do. Preston Winslow; gorgeous, wealthy, educated man became enchanted with the beautiful Elise Klassan.
Almost as if a spell had been cast.
He was consumed by the shy and innocent woman who had a larger than life stage presence. Elsie is a simple woman who has a big dream.
She left her family to peruse a career in show business.
She has only one goal in her life and that is to become a Broadway star.
When their paths cross they’ll discover timing is everything.
This story tugged at my heart-strings. The author gives a visual description of every minute detail.
If this were an audio book all one would have to do is close their eyes and let the back of your eyelids become a movie screen.
It could have been a movie script.
A beautiful love/life story.
I think of it as a sleeper love story. Not because it's boring or because it lacked interest but because it crept along at a pace allowing the reader time to feel the depth of emotions shared by Preston and Elsie.
There were some pivotal moments when I was a beaming then a few minutes later I felt crushed. My emotions were all over the place.
Preston had the patience a saint.
“Then I won’t ever fall in love with you, so you’ll never have to fear me.” I loved his character. He was soft, sweet and caring.
No rough bad boy here, just a man who couldn’t imagine a future without Elsie in it.
At first, I didn’t like Elsie. She seemed cold, almost put off at the possibility of a relationship.
She was young, inexperienced, and although she wanted Preston fear won out.
Where Preston would have risked everything for love,
Elsie wouldn’t.
One loved too much and the other feared it just as much.
I didn’t think I’d ever forgive Elsie for what she did.
I’m not sure I have. Great romance story with enough oohs and ahhs to keep you happy.

This was an awesome read! A roller coaster of emotions takes us through the long journey that Preston and Elise's relationship goes through. These characters were great together and you can feel their relationship go from friendship to love. That makes it all the more heartbreaking when their relationship is torn apart when neither seems willing to compromise. Can they find their way back to each other??? You will definitely want to get this one and find out. I highly recommend it.

Proposing the Preston is the second novel in the Winslow Brothers series from bestselling author Katy Regnery and turns the spotlight on the second oldest brother, Preston, and his love affair with Elise Klassen. The story is split into two parts with the events in New York followed by the events in Philadelphia two years afterward. When they first meet, Preston is in the middle of an internship in a law office while prepping for the bar exam while Elise is a struggling stage actress. When they see each other again after everything that happens in New York, both Preston and Elise have achieved success in their respective fields, but for all their professional accolades, their personal lives have languished. The blurb did not prepare me for where this story was headed, but it was more than worth the trip it took me on.
Preston Winslow is the kind of man who loves with his whole heart and would do absolutely anything for the woman who owns his heart. When he meets Elise Klassen, he knows there's something special about her and their love affair in New York changes both their lives. I'll admit that my affection was reserved solely for Preston, and it could be due to the occasional bouts of frustration I felt toward Elise. How could you not fall totally in love with Preston and want to spend the rest of your life with him, knowing how caring and supportive he was? Elise making the choice she did in New York was heartrending and her unexpected return to his life two years later had me thinking for a minute that she didn't deserve a second chance with him. But hey, if he made her work for it in New York, turnabout is fair play in Philadelphia.
I absolutely love how Katy Regnery made this a story of true love and how the lead characters find it with each other the first time around but allowed it to get away and fight for it when fate throws them in each other's path two years afterward. Readers get to experience both times with Preston and Elise and it's difficult to not feel the anticipation and frustration while they're in New York and then the hesitance and hope when they're in Philadelphia. I also like how this sequel and its predecessor highlight the role family plays in the lives of its characters. Bidding on Brooks set the bar high and there's no doubt in my mind that Proposing to Preston more than raised it for the next one in this fabulous series. Five out of five stars. ♥

*Sigh* Yeah, I was doing a lot of that while reading Proposing to Preston. Those deep down, "oh my goodness" sighs that are a clear indicator that what I'm reading is sweet, romantic, emotional, and deserving of my complete, undivided attention from page one thru to the end. Where my emotions are so wrapped up in what is going on that I feel every bit of what the characters feel--happy when they're happy, and torn apart when their world comes crashing down. Yes, Katy Regnery has done it again, in grand style, and with a matchup that will have you swooning...then aching...and finally breathing a final sigh of relief and happiness.
The first thought that comes to mind when thinking of Preston Winslow is that he's absolutely, undeniably perfect. Incredibly sweet, patient, devoted, smart, loves with his entire being and continually puts Elise first. Of every book Katy Regnery has written, Preston is my outright favorite male lead (I'm so sorry Fitz, you've fallen to an extremely close second). I can't imagine a more ideal leading man than Preston. And at the end of part one of the story, my heart was positively torn in two for him.
Elise is a strong, driven young woman who comes from a very simple, rural upbringing hoping to make a name for herself as an actress. She's innocent and charming, but when faced with the reality of what the relationship between her and Preston becomes and has to make a choice, everything is ripped apart. But she does realize what she's missing, and what her true feelings are in the second part of the story...and with some extra family drama thrown into the mix, has the opportunity to try and fix the hurt she caused.
Yes, there's angst. Yes, there's drama. But there's also love that comes from deep down in the heart, passion, and second chances (and not just for Preston and Elise). Fans of second chance romances will absolutely devour this story and come out with a huge smile and a new favorite story...and maybe some tears shed along the way.
5 flawless stars for Proposing to Preston, my new favorite Blueberry Lane story and a top recommendation for romance lovers. Be sure to clear a prominent place on your book boyfriend list for Preston...you're going to need it.

4.5 stars This book actually broke my heart into pieces! What a sweet love story about finding yourself and finding your one true love--and having to choose between them. Awesome writing as always by Katy Regnery, who does emotional masterpieces like they're a walk in the park! The depth of sorrow and regret, the hope for a second chance, and the maturity it takes to know when to take it slow--such a hard blend to make right. But, as I've always known--Katy's got the touch!
Elise and Preston met when they were both on the brink of making it. Preston had lost his chance at the Olympics and was living his second dream of being a lawyer. Idling away the summer, working as an intern at a great sports and entertainment law firm while studying to take the New York and Pennsylvania bar exams, he's transfixed by an actress he sees in a play. What is it about her that's so captivating?
Elise has been following her dream of becoming an actress since she was sixteen, and now suddenly, she's gotten the chance of a lifetime. Picked by a famous Broadway casting director to star in Ethan Frome, she's thrilled--and also in love with the first man in her life who's ever made her consider putting aside her career. But she just can't do that, and when push comes to shove--she's forced to make a decision that ends their budding relationship.
Devastated, Preston nearly destroys everything in his life.
Two years later, after Elise realizes the mistake she's made, what is she willing to do to make things right with Preston. Has she gained the maturity to make their marriage a priority, and can Preston be forgiving enough to listen?
Regnery's trademark tender, luscious storytelling sings with emotional depth and sensual heat, taking us on a roller coaster journey through first love lost and found again. Loved it! Thanks KR!

I loved this book, Katy Regnery writes an emotional romance like no other. This book doesn't need a crazy ex or a twisting back and forth plot. It is based simply on two people who love each other and eventually find their way back to each other.
Preston and Elise meet while he is study for the Bar and she is an off Broadway actress with big dreams. It is a love at first sight story....and yes I believe in those. Elise gets her big break and she makes a choice that she lives to regret. Preston...oh Preston....I love this guy...he is truly brokenhearted when he realizes that Elise is serious in her choice and there is no room in her life for him.
This is a genuine, heartfelt romance that will bring you to the verge of tears. We watch as Preston works through his pain never losing his love for Elise. And we watch as Elise matures and realizes that what you think your dreams are may not make you happy.
I really can't tell you how much I loved this book. Katy is so good at writing believable characters and she conveys their emotions like no other. She leads us on a journey as Preston and Elise find their way back to each other and it is just beautiful. I highly recommend this book.

Before I start, I knew this book is gonna gut me. We got some hints about Preston's misery back in Bidding on Brooks. To make matter worse, Katy is gonna make us witness how Preston fell in love with the actress Elise in New York, only to have him heartbroken and return back to his hometown.
Preston, a young lawyer, met the love of his life while watching one cringe-worthy off-off Broadway show in New York. Despite the less than stellar performance, he was captivated by the actress who played Matilda.
Elisa is an ambitious young woman who is chasing her dream in performance arts. Like many New Yorker, she left her small hometown to embark for a journey of a lifetime. Despite her conservative upbringing and the lack of support from her family, she is adamant in achieving her goal.
"You're the only one who can make your dreams come true."
The whirlwind romance between Preston and Elisa was swoon worthy in every way. Preston is always there cheering for her and being the supporting boyfriend who cater to her every needs. Even with her conservative nature, Preston is more than patient with her.
"Love scares you? Being in love."
"Very much."
"Then I won't ever fall in love with you, so you'll never have to fear me."
However, when come to making some hard choices, Elisa decided that her career supersede everything else. Are you kidding me, woman? It make me so mad to read this particular chapter where she end up hurting the one person who love her unconditionally. To say I'm freaking angry is an understatement. I decided that she needs to grovel on her knees to get Preston back. Anything less is simply not satisfying.
As time pass and Elisa already regretted her decision, I'm laying back waiting to see what moves she had up her sleeves. I enjoyed her road to redemption, but I didn't like the little drama about her family being thrown in. I wish she had to work harder to get him back. I don't want to make it easy for her.
Overall, Proposing to Preston bring out a strong message about compromising, being supportive and understanding to your partner. Although I'm standing on Preston's side, he do acknowledge his own part in the entire fiasco. I love seeing how they both learn to love again and making compromises in life. Definitely a moving and emotionally engaging read. Can't wait to read about the next Winslow's brother.

A warm fuzzy feeling - that's how I felt after reading this. I loved these two and rooted for them throughout the entire book. They went through a lot and deserved every bit of happiness they could get. It was a great read and pulled on my heartstrings. It's a HEA with some mild sex scenes but worth all five of the stars I am giving it!

Wow! I cannot stop thinking about this book. This is my first time reading Katy Regnery’s work and I was impressed. I had heard so much about her work and so I decided to give this one a try. It was just totally awesome. This is the second book in the Winslow Brothers series and it can be read as a stand-alone. I knew from the start that this book was going to leave me emotionally drained. I was totally invested in the story and the characters. I loved everything about this story. I was hooked from the very first page and I found it rather difficult to put this one down. This is the kind of story that will make you laugh, cry and scream as you follow the characters on their emotional journey. The story flowed beautifully and the writing was engaging and riveting. The first half of the book was slow but this was not necessarily a bad thing. I believe that this was deliberate as it allowed readers to get a better understanding of the characters as it relates to their fears, pain, doubts and sorrows. In the second half of the book the characters demonstrated growth and maturity. I like that they both acknowledged their mistakes and were not afraid to forgive thus opening their hearts for reconciliation.
It was easy to understand where Elise was coming from. I understood her fears and doubts when it came to making life changing choices. Her focus all along was on her career, but then Preston entered her life and through a wrench into her plans. She had no idea how to manage this change. Her actions are typical of persons who are literally run scared when things don’t go the way they planned. Proposing to Preston is a bittersweet second chance romance that depicts the importance of compromise, support and understanding within relationships. This is a must read and I am eagerly awaiting the next book in the series.

Time for the next Winslow brothers installement, after Brooks it was Preston’s turn now. Katy is a wonderful author, her series are great and I love that this one is connected to her previous series – the English Brothers. The blurb of this book sounded really intriguing and it was more than I ever hoped for.
The story starts two years back in New York. Preston Winslow, soon to be lawyer, goes to see a show off-off Broadway and falls in love with actress Elise. They fall for each other pretty hard and suddenly there is an opportunity for Elise to get to Broadway and be on stage next to Hollywood stars, at the same time she loses her apartment and gets to know Preston. Their love is sweet, deep and passionate (but Elise is a virgin) and Preston is the perfect boyfriend, by her side and helping her. Without even thinking she lives with him and becomes a great star on Broadway. Preston askes the question soon, but soon after Elise is offered a great movie deal and has to make a big decision.
Elise, is an ambitious actress and her biggest dream is to be a famous Broadway actress. Her career is important to her and she goes for it. I loved having that aspect in the story, I’m a big Broadway and West End fan, Musicals are part of my life, so it was amazing reading about this business.
Before I even started reading the book, I saw that the first few chapters were set in the past and the other half was set in the present. This scared me a little bit, especially when I saw what Elise and Preston had. Their relationship might moved a little fast, but they had a true connection and that came across beautifully in the writing.
Two years later… Elise is a world famous actress and a movie deal brings her to Philly, Preston’s home. Preston is so shocked when he sees her again at the engagement party of his sister!!! He doesn’t want to talk to her. The story gets very emotional here, in several ways and I just couldn’t put it down. The engagement party was great, because I was able to catch up with some familiar characters; I just adore connection between books/series.
Will their love get a second chance?! If you wanna know you have to read the book yourself, but let me tell you that it is a dramatic roller-coaster ride with lots of memorable and passionate scenes.
Katy just has a wonderful voice, lines the characters out really well and brings a lot of feelings and authentic emotions into a story! I can’t wait for the next Winslow brother!!!

Here’s the thing about Katy Regnery: Her books are consistently brilliant. I know when I pick one up, I’m going to be transported into lives that will make me feel like I am falling in love, over and over again in that dreamy, breathtaking way that is so addictive. Proposing to Preston was no exception.
Elise is an actress on the verge of her big break when Preston finds her at an off Off Broadway show. He is drawn to her in a way he can’t quite explain. They hit it off beautifully when they meet, and they embark on a whirlwind, deeply romantic courtship. The, as it does, life happens. The two are driven apart and must find their way back to each other. This book is like two romances in one – we get the first meeting, and then the second chance later on. This book was just incredibly beautifully written. Sometimes it felt like reading poetry – but not the confusing kind you hate, but the beautiful kind that takes your breath away. There’s a magical, fairy-tale like feel to the masterful way Preston and Elise’s story was told. It is, after all, a story of meeting your one true love, being torn apart, and then finding each other again to live happily ever after. It’s a tale as old as time, and yet here it is, fresh, engaging, and lovely.
As a loyal reader, I was delighted to see appearances by some English Brothers, and of course Brooks and Jess. Ms. Regnery writes family relationships brilliantly and I always get a kick out of reading how the siblings relate to each other. The overall vibe is warm, loyal, gentle and humorous. I loved everything about Elise and Preston’s story. It is by turns swoony, laugh out loud funny, adorable, sexy, heartbreaking, redemptive, and then all the way back to swoony. I simply cannot wait for the next one!

This was a well written and sweet romance.
It's a second chance romance with some angst that gets to the heart.
Elise and Preston a two great characters that are very like able. Elise is an up and coming actress who grew up in a small town. Preston was headed for the Olympics but due to an injury that ends that dream decides to become a lawyer. Each character loves what they do and are just starting their careers. They meet at a play Elise is performing at and Preston is smitten right away. The beginning of their love affair is the first half of the book and it's a sweet thing to behold. Preston is a dream hero and how he pursues Elise is just endearing. Elise I liked as a strong and sweet heroine.I appreciated how she struggled with her decision about their relationship, how it wasn't easy but I still was bothered somewhat by how she went about it. The decision they both come to is so emotional and heartbreaking to read but understandable to an extent because of their age.
We fast forward two years and neither has been able to move on. This is the second half of the book on how Elise realizes how Preston was the best thing that ever happened to her and how she wants him back. Elise set out to prove to Preston how sorry she is and will do anything to win him back. And Preston, on Preston you are a gem. He is not trusting of Elise or ready to have his heart broken again. But Elise redeems herself here for me on how she pursues him with all her heart. And we have a beautiful second half of two characters grew in maturity and realized what they had was priceless.
A very enjoyable read! A tad bit slow for me the first couple chapters but picked up after that and had great pacing. Character development of both was well done and had you cheering for their HEA.

Favorite Quotes:
“With cheeks cut from marble, and sinfully long black lashes framing his emerald-green eyes, his beauty was starling, over-the-top, like it should be impossible.”
“And I promised you that I wouldn’t fall in love with you. I’m sorry for breaking my promise. I couldn’t help it. You should have been less awesome.”
“I have one soul. No one had it before me and no one gets it when I’m gone. But in this life, I give it to you. You own me, Elise.”
“Whatever it is, I’ll fix it for you, I’ll get it for you, I’ll slay it for you, or buy it for you, or barter for it, or beg, borrow, or steal. Tell me what you need, sweetheart, and it’s yours.”
My Review:
Preston is the perfect boyfriend, rich, handsome, smart, talented, thoughtful, and considerate. So why oh why, did Katy Regnery have to break his heart - and mine? I despaired for poor Preston. I was so disappointed in the female lead character, Elise, that a little reading break was required for the safety of my beloved kindle. Ms. Regnery snared me early in the story with her lush and dreamy descriptions, and had lulled me into a cozy mood as I read about this charming couple and their sweet and thoughtful romance, then she gave me a hard lump in my stomach when it imploded. But the worst being that they were both so miserable yet just drifted away and didn’t seek the other out for an extended period. They had both hurt and deeply disappointed each other - and me! After consoling and fortifying myself with my favorite libation, I bravely resumed and - sigh - found that HEA. Preston is my new favorite.

I love this series and I'm a sucker for second chance at love romances. After breaking Preston's heart by choosing her dream of acting over him, Elise has the chance to repair his heart. But he has closed himself off by her treatment of him and he is more than reluctant to let her in again.
In spite of the angst, this was an easy read and another good one in this series.
