I have been reading books by Jeffrey Archer for more years than I would like to admit. This is the eighth and final installment in his William Warwick series, which I’ve read three of previously. While it can be enjoyed as a standalone, reading the entire series provides a comprehensive perspective on the characters.
Set in 2012, the London Olympics are about to commence, as are the nightmares for Commander William Warwick, head of Scotland Yard’s elite team. International forces conspire to sabotage the games, thus damaging Britain’s reputation.
With a well crafted plot and well developed characters, this is an engrossing, fast-paced read. It is suspenseful and thrilling; just as one catastrophe is avoided, another emerges.
There are 22 incidents in the book. Archer claims that 13 of them really occurred unbeknownst to the public. However, the true nature of these incidents remains a mystery, leaving readers eager to know the truth.

Outstanding. The final book in the William Warwick series, this one takes place during the 2012 London Olympics. The background information was quite interesting, with a side story, as usual, at the Fitzmolean Museum. I will miss all the characters but am glad to know I’ve seen the last of Miles Faulkner and Booth Watson. Having read all the books in the series in order gave me a terrific understanding of all those included here.

Even though End Game features familiar characters (William Warwick, Miles Faulkner and Booth Watson to name a few), this is the story of the London Olympic Games of 2012 and the years of planning leading up to the games. I found this to be an exciting story and completely realistic with respect to Russian and Chinese operatives attempting to ambush various aspects of the games and to embarrass the British. It is extremely clever to involve the reader in an attempt to discern which of the 22 disruptions actually occurred and which are totally fictitious.. The book is compelling reading and recommended to all. I thank NetGalley and HarperCollins for the opportunity to read and review this novel prior to publication.

End Game brings back In a high octane thriller two of my favorite British action characters, Commander William Warwick and Sergeant Ross Hogan. The 2012 London Olympic Games are front and center with the world watching. Commander William Warwick of Scotland Yard is selected to head up the massive security team tasked with overseeing the Games to ensure a safe and successful Olympics. The Games are planned to showcase the world’s best athletes and England in its best light. Intelligence officer Ross Hogan is tasked by Warwick with an undercover assignment—to be his boots on the ground. He is to fly under the radar to ferret out possible protesters, saboteurs, and foreign actors determined to undermine the London Olympics.
Security preparations began years in advance—literally hours after London was selected in 2005 to host the 2012 Olympics. But England is not the only country concentrating on the London Olympics. Two foreign powers intelligence services, Russia and China, are cooperating on initiating a series of attacks during the Olympics expected to embarrass the host country. Intelligence officers are sent to London to execute the multiple tier plan with an explosive ending to the Olympics that only one operative knows about. Adding to Warwick’s security problems is a life long London nemesis who agrees to assist the conspirators and make Warwick’s life a living hell.
Warwick’s security forces are on full alert and are ready to spring into action when necessary. Ross Hogan is on the streets gathering intel that Commander Warwick uses to stop or defuse several incidents that would have caused serious damage to Britain’s global reputation. Jeffery Archer also takes us behind the scenes to describe a high tech Olympics security center that few of us ever think about. The amount of time and effort needed to protect the city, games, and spectators is extraordinary. Commander Warwick has to anticipate disruptions as conspirators execute plans expected to play havoc with the Games through the closing ceremonies. Warwick and his elite team were challenged hourly during the two weeks but fully prepared.
Jeffrey Archer has once again written a thriller that mirrors a real event with a few true events described for the first time and a few fictionalized events intended to keep us wondering what will happen next. Great characters, terrific dialogue, continuous action, and a satisfying conclusion make the End Game an enjoyable few hours of reading.
Thank you HarperCollins Publishers and NetGalley for the opportunity to read and provide an honest review.

This was a great book. I loved every paragraph, every sentence and every word of this masterpiece! I read it in 12 hours, which is a lot for me to do! It had everything and more laid out in the novel! I sure hope There is more to come from this author! I am totally hooked!
Will London get the Olympic Games and what will the impact be? They are awarded the Games and here is the planning on how to keep the Games safe. The Russians bring out paintings to display and use as bait and you know that everyone will be after the Games to disrupt them and what profits they can make. Great book!

Jeffery Archer is one of my all time favorite authors. I am always anxious and eager to read his latest book. End Game brings the William Warwick series to an end. I have enjoyed the evolution of Warwick rising from a beat cop to Commander Warwick head of security for the 2012 London Olympics. A fast paced suspenseful plot. Most intriguing is the fact that Archer states that there are 22 incidents in the book, 13 incidents that happened unknown to the public. But the reader is left to figure this last mystery out! An excellent read!!
Jeffrey Archer does it again in this final entry in the William Warwick series. It was everything that I wanted and enjoyed in an eighth entry in this and continued the story perfectly to work in the genre that I was looking for. The characters were so well written and enjoyed the feel of this and how they continued this perfectly. Jeffrey Archer always writes a strong storyline and characters and I cared about this.
Thanks to NetGalley and Harper360 for providing me with an eARC.
This was a great book with a unique setting (London Olympics, 2012) for an almost political thriller. It's my first Jeffrey Archer book and I've been meaning to read his books for a long time. This ARC was the perfect opportunity. I enjoyed reading the simultaneous PoVs and "cat and mouse game" of William and Miles (along with the rest of their side). It made the book a lot more thrilling. This book can definitely be read as a standalone but I think I would have enjoyed it more if I had read the rest of the series before -- if only to see the character development unfold. The book was a lot more exciting after the author's note where he mentions that 13 out of the 22 incidents mentioned in the book actually happened. I'm still working that out in my head although I have a few guesses. I did like the ending, it tied up most of the loose ends but I would have liked a few more happy endings rather than bittersweet ones. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a fast-paced police/political thriller set at the London Olympics.

Jeffrey Archer's End Game is a fast-paced, thrilling conclusion to his William Warwick series. Over the course of these books, we’ve watched Warwick rise from a beat cop to the Commander overseeing security for the 2012 London Olympics. Along the way, he has faced both personal and professional setbacks, but never lost faith in his team or in the calling he feels to serve.
End Game brings together all our beloved characters — including the ones we love to hate — in one of their most stressful missions yet: ensuring the Olympics run smoothly. The pacing is sharp, and while a few plot twists stretch believability, they make the story exciting and fun to follow. What I enjoyed most was the way Archer balances action with character moments; I found myself caring not just about how the mission unfolded, but about what happened to each person. The London backdrop was a familiar and fitting stage, and I especially loved the opening teaser, hinting that some of the plots were true while others were pure invention — leaving us readers to judge.
The full-circle moments tying the seven books together made for a satisfying close, and I was happy with the endings for these characters I’ve come to know so well. I cannot wait to see what Archer has in store next.

I was thrilled to receive an advance copy of End Game, the final installment in Jeffrey Archer’s William Warwick series. After following these characters for years, this conclusion felt both satisfying and well-earned. Archer wraps up the story beautifully, with no lingering cliffhangers, just a strong, confident finish. Set against the backdrop of the London 2012 Olympics, the novel adds an extra layer of tension and relevance. Knowing that many of the security concerns depicted were inspired by real events made the stakes feel even higher and the plot more immersive. Archer’s ability to blend fact with fiction continues to impress. The characters feel like old friends at this point, and it was a pleasure to see their arcs come full circle. I highly recommend End Game and the entire series to fans of intelligent, fast-paced thrillers. I’m already looking forward to whatever Jeffrey Archer writes next.

It was nice to read about William Warwick, his job, responsibilities, friendships, and family again. The setting of the London Olympics was thrilling, and the perfect setting for potential sabotage. End Game is a very good conclusion of an enjoyable and exciting series.

Fabulously told story of Warwick and company working to prevent an act of
terror from sabotaging the London Olympics.
Great story with familiar faces and rebirth of old grievances amid new crime organizations and
nefarious underground terrorism planning.
Anything to make the Olympics fail and Warwick to face public ridicule.
Non stop suspense and intrigue.
Top notch read.

End Game was a fitting ending to a great series. I loved the Clifton Chronicles, and the Warwick series was a fitting continuation to that series. Now i"m wondering will Artemisia, as a investigating journalist, be the next series? This book was all about the 2012 Olympics in London, and all William and his team had to do to keep them running smoothly despite the Russians, Chinese, and Faulkner causing trouble! It's a very good and interesting read. I highly recommend it and the whole series.
After enjoying the outstanding seven-book series The Clifton Chronicles, I became a fan of Jeffrey Archer. In this series, William Warwick shines as a key figure in the London Metropolitan Police Force. End Game is the eighth and concluding book featuring Warwick, his family, his colleagues, and his adversaries. The series began in the 1980s. In this book, it is 2012, and London is gearing up to host the Olympic Games. Commander William Warwick and his team are tasked with ensuring the safety of the Games. There are several plots underway that not only endanger many lives but would also tarnish Britain's global reputation. Miles Faulkner, Warwick's long-time nemesis, returns and is collaborating with Russia and China to create chaos for Warwick.
All good things must come to an end, and Jeffrey Archer has provided William Warwick with an excellent farewell in End Game. I was intrigued by Archer's noting upfront that the book features twenty-two incidents, advising that thirteen of them actually took place during the 2012 London Olympics, and the public was never informed about them. Whether real or the product of the author's imagination, Archer is an exceptional storyteller. I thoroughly enjoyed this action-packed series, which encompassed political intrigue, clever crime solving, the world of fine art, strong family relationships, and much more.
4.5 stars.

Another brilliant book by my all time favorite author. William Warwick leads this non stop, action filled story with the setting of the 2012 London Olympic games. A tragedy is planned at this event, and the enemies have to be stopped and outsmarted not to have a major disaster.
From page 1 you are immersed into a great cast of characters who keeps you guessing what will happen next. A fantastic book that I look forward to recommended to everyone.

Truly Remarkable!
When I came across this one, I was immediately fascinated by the author since his previous work that I'd read was amazing, so I thought I'd give him another chance. The title was really enticing. I was unaware that this was the last in the series, but after reading it, I'll definitely be going back to read the previous William Warwick books.
The story revolves around the 2012 London Olympics, where William Warwick is tasked with securing the entire event while Miles Faulkner does everything in his selfish power to turn things upside down—shaking hands with Russians and Chinese to make London a laughing stock in front of the whole world. There are 22 incidents described in the book, and Archer claims that 13 of them actually occurred, unknown to the public. However, the true nature of these incidents remains a mystery.
The story is divided perfectly into three parts: before the games, during the games, and after the games. It's not overly lengthy, but every page keeps you on edge. The thrill that comes with it makes the novel absolutely intriguing. Everything feels incredibly authentic—how politics works, how someone will do anything in their power to destroy others just to fill their own pockets, how world leaders play games for their personal gain, and abuse their power. On the flip side, we see the tireless efforts of security personnel working day and night, staying on high alert and handling everything flawlessly, even if it means risking their lives in the process.
The character development is well-crafted and engrossing, with fast-paced plotting. It's a thrilling read where catastrophes unfold one by one, leaving you wondering when they'll finally end.

I think I'd add "Historical Fiction" as a genre for this book. The events and conditions described seemed so realistic into which Wareick and his cast of characters were "dropped". The good guys were always trying to stay a step ahead of the bad guys from Russia, China, and even jolly olde England as they attempted to sabotage the Olympic Games in London. Lots of action as so many characters got involved in so many sub-plots designed to embarrass the host country.y

This edge of your seat thriller from Jeffrey Archer is the 8th, and apparently the final, in the William Warwick series. I have not read the previous books in the series but found this easy to follow and can be read as a stand alone. After a somewhat slow start this book picks up at breakneck speed and I couldn't put it down, reading it straight through in two days. Highly recommended
Thanks to NetGalley and HarperCollins for an advanced reader copy.
Jeffrey Archer's latest William Warwick book chronicles the pride Great Britain feels as it hosts the Olympic Games. William Warwick is responsible for security at the Olympics and must be ready for his toughest assignment yet. The belief that some would like to embarrass has Warwick and his
men identifying all possible attacks on the Olympic Games and working constantly to counter those who would like nothing better than to disrupt and ruin the Games by any means possible. Lots of action, this excellent mix of old and new characters, and their interactions, made for a wild ride that kept me eager to see where and how the story ends.
I received an ARC for free and gave my honest opinion voluntarily.
Jeffrey Archer is just one of those authors you know anything they write will be a great book. And this book was particularly appealing because of the backdrop of the Olympics. Great title! Thanks to #NetGalley and #EndGame. for advanced digital copy.

End Game by Jeffrey Archer is a frightening, sometimes sad, and ultimately satisfying conclusion to the William Warwick series.
It’s definitely worth reading and I’m positive you’ll find it worth the read.
The book takes place during the 2012 Olympics in London and definitely keeps Warwick and his officers on their toes especially since Miles and Booth are trying to do their worst to disrupt the show.
Beth and the museum she runs and art also play prominently in the book.
Archer says there are twenty-two incidents in the book that took place during the 2012 London Olympics. He says thirteen actually happened which the public were never made aware of. Two of them - which were prevented by security forces- he says would not only have ruined the Olympics but destroyed Britain’s reputation around the world. And nine of the incidents are figments of his imagination.
Now that your appetite is whetted, grab your copy of this incredible book!

First of all, big ups to Jeffrey Archer for being able to deliver such an engrossing read at 85 years old. The final book in the William Warwick series delivered a great end to the series. It can be read alone since the focus is on the London Olympics. This book kept me at the edge of my seat and seemed so real that I had to perform a "real versus fiction" search. Great twists and satisfying ending.
I got the ARC from Harper 360 via Netgalley. This is my honest review
William Warwick returns in the final installment of the series. It’s 2012 and London is host to the Olympic Games. While the world sees only the competition and camaraderie of the Games, Warwick and his team work tirelessly behind the scenes to make sure everything goes off without a hitch. Making their work more difficult are the Russian and Chinese governments that are hell bent on making London’s efforts a failure on the world stage. And to make matters worse, the foreign powers have allied with Warwick’s nemesis, Miles Faulkner.
Archer includes both real security issues that happened in the 2012 Games and several of his own imagining. All the main characters from the series return for one of the biggest challenges of Warwick’s career. With so many threats coming from all sides, Warwick’s team will have to put together a gold medal performance to keep their country and the world’s top athletes safe.
This was a wonderful wrap-up to the series - action-packed and filled with satisfying conclusions to many characters’ storylines! The combination of the Olympic spirit with the fast-paced problem solving of Warwick and his crew make for a great finale.

End game is a behind the scenes look at the 2012 London Olympics and Scotland Yard's work to identify potential disruption to the ceremonies and the games by the Chinese and Russians to embarrass the British,
The story was fast paced, with well developed characters, and a believable (nail biting) plot.
The final pages listed 22 incidents that we included in the book, that might have taken place during the 2012 Olympics....13 did occur 9 did not.
The author never identified which ones did occur, but asked -How many can you get correct? Leaving the reader to research them- an interesting way to end a book.
Jill F, Reviewer
I have really enjoyed this series, although did find that the antics of Miles Faulkner, and William Warwick's continual thwarting of them, started feeling both repetitive and increasingly unlikely in their serendipity over time... Still, I was very curious to see where this final installment would take all of the characters I've come to love, hate, and love-to-hate throughout the course of the series. The book did not disappoint on that front. There was comeuppance. There were surprises. There were deaths. There were smile-inducing moments of justice. And there was a LOT of action...
Archer's writing was, as always, well-paced and very smooth. The plot - following the 2012 London Olympics - was an interesting one and I really enjoyed the behind-the-curtain peeks into protocol and procedure. I cannot believe nations actually fight for the "right" to host, given all the potential for disaster and crisis that the hosting entails though! I enjoyed the way Archer blended ongoing plot themes with the most recent nefarious attempts by Faulkner to undermine Warwick and his team, via the fortuitous timing of the Olympics. I also really liked the way he worked in actual issues confronted at the Games with several he made up for the purposes of plot.
It was a fun read and I'm sad to see the series end, although do feel satisfaction with the wrap-up!

Cops and Robbers! I found all seven spoofs, did you? It was a great End Game for Constable Warwick and the Hawk, Miles and Booth as wicked as they come. Great premise for a detective story. Thanks for the Advanced Copy of this last installment.

It is 2005 and the International Olympic Committee is meeting to select the site for the 2012 Games. When London is announced as the winner, Commander William Warwick is chosen to be head of security for the games, a 7 year job of preparation that will terminate with a pulse pounding 15 days. But there are those who seek to interfere and bring shame to Great Britain. Alternating between Warwick’s team planning for the security of the games, and a coalition of Russians and Chinese plotting to bring them down, the tension builds as one security issue after another bring the threats closer to reality. In the author’s note, some of the events depicted in this story actually occurred while others were fiction, but whatever they were, the race to protect the games will keep you turning the pages.
This is the 8th book in the William Warwick series - and judging by the title, it probably will be the last but I am not holding my breath that this is the end. As I have said so many times before in reviewing Archer’s books - he may never win any of the prestigious book rewards but he is a master storyteller. The cast of familiar characters is always fun to revisit. And while each edition has centered around a specific theme or event, the interplay between all of the characters and the continuity of story makes waiting for each book worthwhile. My thanks to NetGalley and Harper 360 for the ARC of this book.

End Game by Jeffrey Archer is a police procedural/historical fiction tome surrounding the 2012 London Olympics and the serious security risks surrounding the games and a task force William Warwick will run, risking his career and that of his team if anything goes wrong. He had been working on the Olympics security since London had been tapped to host in 2012 and all his regular staff was working with him. By Archer’s own admission, thirteen of the twenty-two incidents cited in the story actually occurred, but at no point does he divulge which are fiction and which are fact. His team was able to thwart or seriously disable all of the incidents, some using their own skills and some with the help of “snitches.” It was a fast paced look at the infamous opening ceremonies where Queen Elizabeth and James Bond (Daniel Craig) parachuted into the ceremony.
William Warwick is a crack police office as well as a family man. He has been married for twenty-five years to his wife, Beth, and they are the parents of twins, Artemisia and Peter. Arte has been hired as a cub reporter, only to obtain a permanent position if she is able to get an important Olympic story. She hopes to use her father to get that story, but after he puts that suggestion to bed, she turns to Ross, his long-time partner and friend, who isn’t quite as adamant but no more helpful. She manages to come up with one on her own, which sadly turns to tragedy, but she walks away with helpful evidence for her father’s team. There are successes and failures, including several deaths. Most the public never knows about. It is, as always, a well-written book about a serious topic. The major characters, both law enforcement and not, are mostly people his readers have come to know well. Terrific book!
I was invited to read End Game by Harper 360. All thoughts and opinions are mine. #Netgalley #Harper360 #JeffreyArcher #EndGame
As the title would suggest, this is the final installment of the William Warwick series. The story takes place in 2012 in London, England as the city prepares to host the Olympic Games.. But with a global spotlight comes global risk. The usual advisories start their plan to cause disruption and chaos in the capital city. William Warwick heads the campaign to prevent disaster, from both domestic and international threats.
Jeffrey Archer once again proves his gift for storytelling. Drawing from real events, he opens with a striking note. Readers will discover twenty-two incidents that took place during the Olympics. Thirteen of them actually happened, though the public never knew. Two were serious enough that, had they not been stopped by security forces, the Games could have been derailed entirely.
Fans of the Warwick series will be pleased to learn that many of the favorite characters return. The twins are now adults. Beth and Christine are still working at the gallery, and Miles Faulkner and his trusty sidekick Booth Watson are still looking to cause mayhem if it means they can make some money.
I have loved so many of Archers books and this one was no exception. The pace is relentless with most chapters ending on a cliff hanger ensuring you can’t put the book down. It’s an adrenaline rush as Warwick uncovers one plot after another, racing to shut them down in a classic cat and mouse battle

This outing occurs during the 2012 london olympics. All our favorite characters are back. I was unaware of all the behind the scenes threats. I do wonder which were real and which the author made up. A bittersweet ending that made me think, this cannot be the end.
A great book for fans of Jeffery Archer and, honestly, a great close to a great series. I was recommended this by a lot of my family, and I really enjoyed this series. I thought it was well-paced, well-crafted, and well-written.

Jeffrey Archer ends his William Warwick saga with End Game, a masterful thriller set amid the tension and spectacle of London’s 2012 Olympic Games. When Britain wins the bid to host, the celebration is cut short by an international conspiracy to launch a devastating attack that could throw the world into chaos. Commander William Warwick and his Scotland Yard team must outthink a network of ruthless operatives in a race against time—from London’s crowded streets to the shadowy halls of power—to stop the assassin before the Games begin.
Archer is in top form here, blending political intrigue, espionage, and human drama with his signature precision. The pacing is relentless, the stakes sky-high, and the dialogue sharp as ever. Familiar adversaries return, including the cunning Miles Faulkner, adding extra tension and satisfaction for longtime fans.
With its cinematic scope and emotional depth, End Game is everything a series finale should be—intelligent, high-octane, and deeply satisfying. Archer proves once again why he remains one of the best storytellers in the business.
