You know when you go out to eat and places bring you a small dish of sorbet before the main course so that you can cleanse your palate. That is exactly how I felt reading His Love. I had been lost in many dark and dramatic novels. Reading His Love was refreshing and such a great story to get lost in. Thank goodness I started it after putting my kids to bed, because I am not sure I would have been able to put the book down if I had been interrupted. This was my first read by Jennifer Gracen, I am now going to find her other books.

His Love is a real heart stealer. Jennifer Gracen's novel is an exceptional read. Two people have to make the choice of pursuing their own happiness or allowing responsibilities to get in the way. Full of likeable characters, tough decisions and heart rending emotion. I am in awe. Received an ARC for an honest review.

3.5 Recognizing He is the One * * * 1/2

We all talk about insta-love and how it can just be silly in books...but what about in our real lives....Can you meet someone, have this instant connection and yes, be attracted to them... but also know in your heart of hearts... this person is The One for you...

How do you trust your instincts... how do you to make that leap of faith and believe this new exciting person...You hear what they say, feel an immediate bond and things talked about have new meaning.

It is frightening...
It is scary to feel this...
And it can be the most wonderful thing to ever happen to you...

This third installment of the Summer in New York series presents all of these ideas and frames it with the best friend's brother from Ireland visiting for one month in New York. There is the brother, his sister's best friend... and they are thrown together at a time in both of their lives where it is a "perfect storm" for them to fall...

And fall they do.
But being careful...these two characters decide to have it be a summer fling with the end date of our guy's departure back to Ireland. Easy...they set rules and agreed to them... fun, sun and fabulous sex.

Now our fella was Perfection; an Irish Doctor, with charm, sense of humor and just the body to dream of...He loves his family and a brother and sister are here now in the New York area causing the reason for the holiday. He has been hurt by an ex...and so he is a bit sensitive about being dumped by her. He is not looking for anything but to relax a bit and hang out with his sis and the housemates where he is staying...and one of those housemates...She takes his breath away.

This is a woman nothing like his ex...this is someone who really has the woman's body with an hourglass figure and sparkle in her eye...She is working at an Art Gallery in the city. The good news is it is an art gallery; the bad is she is over qualified for what they have her do. As an Art History/Fine Arts major, all of her knowledge of the art scene and artists is not being put to use. Instead, handling spoiled society patrons and snobby owners with administration and "gopher" tasks are her daily torture.

When her best friend's brother spends time with our gal...she experiences for the first time a man who listens to her; shares ideas as if hers mean something... and gives of himself easily. These two are on a collision course to heartbreak land...because both know...this summer fling is no fling at all.

I loved our Irishman. He was caring, fun, sharp and oh, so sexy. He had it bad for our gal; he was willing to put himself out there. He was the MVP of this story. Our gal was the type who questioned her feelings...had a bad history with an ex who would make her feel less than. This was alluded to... but I never thought I got the full impact and her self doubt was the main focus of her having confusion of how all this was playing out.

I did like the secondary characters and they added flavor and a feel of more than just this book. Some had already had their romance stories told in another series.

Tule Publishing has come up with a way of producing series which interconnect or crossover and the reading will still work if you come into the books without reading the others. Different Authors put their own spin on the main story with a central theme. There is an implied familiarity with places and characters... and it seems to work quite well.

If you are looking for a quick, uncomplicated, romantic summer read without love triangles, complicated plots, or heavy drama, you might want to consider His Love by Jennifer Gracen. It is a simple, pretty predictable love story between Toni Westmore; an underappreciated, relationship insecure, art gallery employee and Gavin McKinnon; handsome, just here for the summer, visiting family while mending a broken heart, Irish doctor. As Toni shares an apartment with Gavin’s sister, he conveniently gets to spend a lot of time with Toni. Not surprisingly, the instant attraction soon leads to them being a couple, with family and friends highly approving. The only angst here is the couple working through how to proceed with a relationship set to last just one month. I breezed through this one in just one afternoon and appreciated the HEA, though it was a little too on the easy, convenient side. Frankly, I was hoping for a little drama involving the ex’s. Really, who doesn’t like a little showdown and to see the hero go after his girl. Was surprised it didn’t happen since they were mentioned several times in the story. My favorite parts involved what Gavin left behind for Toni after he returned to Ireland and Toni’s mother’s surprisingly supportive, impassioned plea encouraging Toni to follow her dreams. Honestly, I got a little tired of Toni’s indecisiveness/insecurities. Gavin’s parting letter to her was heart melting romantic.
As I thoroughly enjoyed book 1, His Touch, I recommend you check it out, as well.

Fantastic read that needs to be on your tbr list! Toni has enough people demanding things from her. An aggravating boss and a strong willed mother are enough, the last thing she needs is a relationship. When her friends brother comes to town for a visit though, she could probably make time for a little summer fun!! Gavin is one hot Irishman, a doctor, and oh so sexy hot! What could it hurt. As his visit comes to a close though Toni and Gavin both know that what they have is much more than a fling. Now what??? You want to find out, believe me! I highly recommend this one.

This was a simple but heartwarmingly sweet love story about two people who have both experienced pain courtesy of their last long-term relationships and decide to jump into a month-long fling with no strings attached. But as is the case with a lot of these seemingly temporary situations, real feelings develop and it becomes a matter of both parties needing to be honest and wanting the same thing. The whole idea of Gavin's sister not being happy about her brother and one her closest friends getting together is nixed pretty quickly and I'm glad that it didn't really come into play because then it would have just felt like other falling-for-the-best-friend's-sibling/falling-for-the-sibling's-best-friend story lines already in the market.

While there was a time or two that I felt Toni allowed herself to fall into the trap of getting stuck in neutral, she was a likable female lead character. As for Gavin, goodness, what a sweetheart he was! When Toni was hedging about making a decision, my heart broke for him because you could see that he seriously wanted to make a go of their relationship and went above and beyond to help her out. That's why I totally understood why the ending was the way it was because you can only do so much of the pushing and pulling and the next move seriously needs to come from the other party. All in all, this was a lovely story and sets itself apart by not employing too many of the characters from the previous series. Four stars for His Love. ♥

His Love is a fast paced, flirty, charming story of love with a possible expiration date. Huh? Gavin McKinnon is visiting family this summer, staying with them at a beach house and totally relaxing. Not going to think about his ex. Not going to dread going back to his medical practice in Ireland. His intention is simply to visit, relax with no drama. Ah huh. Toni Westmore has drama to spare in her life – her boss, her job. The last place she wants to encounter drama is on vacation, sharing a beach house with friends and an extra visitor.

The one thing (well, one of the things) I really enjoyed about this story was the author’s nod to insta-love. Yeah, I went there. The one thing that readers and reviewers pick up on is the general disbelief at instant love between two virtual strangers. In His Love, Ms Gracen shows us just how instantly loving someone works and brings in all of the common sense reasons through the characters as to why it should not work.

Toni and Gavin have one month. One short month to store up memories, definitely share sizzling sex and simply enjoy each other up until the very last second of his vacation and his inevitable return to Ireland. The question is: Can Toni trust in loving him so quickly? How can it possibly work between them? What are each willing to sacrifice in order to be with the person they love, however illogical that might be? I think you need to read this one to find the answers.

I enjoyed this last release in the Summer in New York series from Tule Publishing. If you are looking for that fun summer read to take along to the beach or the back yard, then His Love is one that I would happily recommend. Enjoy.

*I received an e-ARC of His Love from the publisher and NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. That does not change what I think of this novel.*

What happens when a summer fling turns into something much more?

Gavin McKinnon has traveled from Ireland to Long Island to spend some time with his sister at the beach house. He wants to relax and have some fun before he starts the next phase of his career, becoming a pediatrician. He didn't expect to fall in love with one of his sister's roommates.

Toni Westmore is stuck at a job that she hates. She isn't much more than a glorified errand girl at the art gallery. Her personal life isn't much more exciting either. She doesn't do relationships anymore because she is afraid they will end badly. She fears men will turn out like her last controlling boyfriend. But when she meets Gavin, she is more than ready for a summer fling.

When the fling turns to love, it's more than either of them bargained for. How will their relationship work out if they don't even live in the same country?

This is a perfect escape in a book. All of the characters were well defined and each scene flowed into the next really well. It was a beautifully written story.

★★★★ 4.5 Stars

This feel good book made me smile, and with a charming, hunky Irishman just visiting for the summer.... how could it not!

Gavin was such a sweetheart. He knew himself well and his easy smile just won me over. Toni was a fun girl and they meshed well together. I really liked how even though she seemed indecisive or a bit flaky at times.. she really sat down and figured out what went wrong. Too often in books I find the characters take too long to realize a miscommunication, which just begins to annoy me... This author did not do that and I am really glad!

This was the first time I have read a book by Jennifer Gracen, and it won't be the last. I plan on going to her back list and seeing if Sean (Gavin's yummy brother) has a story!

Tule Publishing have become one of my go-to publishers when I'm looking for an easy read romance with endearing characters, an engaging storyline and beautiful locations. His Love ticked all the boxes for me.

"...in just a week, you've made me feel alive again..."

Gavin and Toni's best-friend's older brother summer-fling isn't that different from many that are out there, but everything worked for me. Aside of the fact that Gavin was Irish and a Doctor, a winning combination for me, I adored his strong-silent nature and he and Toni bring everything from sexy fun to deep heartfelt emotion that may have required the Kleenex.

"I've just found you. I don't want to lose you yet."

Had more had been made of the Toni's vulnerabilities from her previous relationship, then we would have been looking at 5-star territory for this book. This couple were fabulous together; you can't help but feel desperate for them to find their Happily Ever After and I've been left wanting Gavin's sister Anna's story. And whilst this is the final book in the Summer in New York series, it's very much a standalone read.

3 1/2 stars.. very sweet story about an Irishman who comes to visit a sister in the city, looking for just a relaxing vacation...He is drawn right away to Toni, his sister's friend, and pursues her. Toni works a highpowered stressful job and has a no strings rule for relationships... Loved how strong these two characters both were, loved the setting at the shore and the City, and the backyard issues of Toni's demanding job and Gavin's pursuit of becoming a pediatrician...really well done and patrons will like this one

Oh, if this isn't the summer romance story!! It is so sweet, tender, adorable, passionate, hot, sizzling, and frail. Cause they live on the opposite sides of the ocean, and they only have four weeks of this perfect, delicious romance.
It was supposed to be only a fling. But the connection, chemistry and bond between Gavin and Toni is so real, solid, and unique, their feelings soon come into the play, and things don't go so smoothly after that. Cause the end of the summer is coming fast, and they are running out of time.
Gavin has issues with trust, trusting Toni's feelings, cause in the past relationship, he was left behind after four years. Now he only has four weeks to convince Toni, that he is serious, and willing to do anything and everything to make their relationship to work.
Toni was emotionally abused in her previous relationship, and just scared of all the intense feelings Gavin is bringing out of her. She is not sure about a thing in her life right now, everything seems to be spiraling out of control. And the departure is agonizing, Toni has so much to figure out, big changes she needs to make in her life, she needs to find her courage, belief in herself, and take a leap of faith. This is a story that made me smile, and later brought tears in my eyes. I loved the characters, adored them! Toni and Gavin are so perfect together, perfect for each other, with all their faults and all.

This is part of the Summer in New York Series. I have not read any other book in the Series except this title.

Gavin comes to New York from Ireland to spend a month with his sister, Anna, on Long Island. After being jilted by his ex about a year ago, the last thing Gavin though he would ever do was fall in love while there.

Toni can't stand her job, she has no man, and her mother is on her case. When she comes home from work one night, and meet Gavin. As soon as she see him, she knows her life will never be the same again.

Their passion is like WHOA hot! You can see that they are falling and each is too afraid to admit it because they are afraid of possible rejections. There are some really touching moments they share. This is especially true about the ending of the story.

I have to say that reading a book set on and in the area one grew up,enhances the enjoyment of the book all the more.

Kitty Angel's Review:
Unfortunately, this is the last book in the Summer In New York series and I really wish that there were a few more for me to read and enjoy while sitting beside the pool This is another new-to-me author that has me looking for other books by her. Why? I really loved the way she wrote this story and the way the characters came alive. I could hear Gavins Irish Brogue and loved the way that she intermingled Gaelic throughout the story.

Both characters had their reasons for “just a fling” that everyone could understand … a broken heart and a mother that can’t be pleased. But, sometimes you just have to allow the attraction you feel take over and go with the flow. Then, once you realize just how much you have come to care for that person, you just have to give in.

Gavin was sexy as all hell with his glasses and Irish ways … Antonella was the hot Italian that knew what she wanted and went after it. Together, they rocked the beach house and and celebrated the 4th of July with a bang!

His Love was a fun book to read. Set in Long Island in a beach house, it’s the perfect summer read. Everyone in the house are friends and are all very supportive of each other. It was no different for Gavin as he moved in for a month with his sister. Watching Gavin and Toni waltz around each other was fun and frustrating … you just wanted to yell at them to get it over with. But, sometimes the chase and build up is worth the wait. And, Jennifer Gracen did a wonderful job of building us up, easing us in and then setting off the fireworks.

His Touch, His Kiss and His Love make up the Summer In New York series by Tule Publishing. They are all stand alone books and written by three amazing authors. They were sweet. they were sexy and they were hot. And, believe me, if you’ve never read any of these authors, you will be looking for what ever books they wrote before and looking forward to what they write in the future.

As for His Love …. I would definitely recommend it if you are into hot Irish guys, the beach and hot summer nights.

This book just reinforces that sometimes you find true love when you aren't looking for it. Toni and Gavin make a great couple and if you are looking for a good, quick read with a bunch of smiles throughout, this is your book.

The first book I had ever read by Jennifer Gracen was the Christmas in New York book, All I Want for Christmas. That book sold me on this author. I have since read four other of her books (different series) so I was ready for something new which Summer in New York Book 3, His Love certainly is. I love the connection to the Christmas Series and who couldn’t love a handsome Irish Doctor. Gavin the handsome Irish Doctor, is Sean’s (All I Want for Christmas) brother who is visiting his sister Anna at Long Beach. While there he falls for her summer roommate, Toni. Of course, she falls for him too but alas he is only in the States for four weeks.

This is the perfect beach read. If you are not at the beach when you start reading this novella, you will have a hankering to pack up and go by the time Gavin is taking in his first Long Beach view. Besides the wonderful coastal landscape, this is an easy book to relax and enjoy. It is what I think of as a traditional romance, heavy on the character development and relationship, light on lots of extra drama.

I can recommend this novella and the entire series to all of us romantics at heart. But especially for anyone who just wants to read a fun well written summer romance story preferably while sitting in a beach chair with the waves tickling your toes.

His Love is a sure thing. Hers ... Well Toni has had a bit of a bumpy ride with a former boyfriend and she struggles to believe in the truth of her feelings for Gavin. The third in Tule Publishing's Summer in New York series this is a sweet story of love at first sight and it grew on me as I made my way through the book. I had a slight personal problem with Gavin's Irish accent, conveyed to the reader through things like the use of "ya" instead of "you" in Gavin's speech. Personally I would have preferred to imagine his accent, but I think that's something that comes down to taste, and really, this book is lovely so I told myself to stop being picky, sit back and enjoy the ride. And I did. If you like your stories sweet then you'll like this one.

This was a cute quick read with lots of things fto take in, with the feelings growing can love bloom?

This is the third book in this brilliant series so far and, although they are written by different authors, they include some of the same characters in each. They may be read as standalone books but I’ve appreciated the opportunity to see how characters and relationships from earlier books in the series develop. The author manages to portray the characters so it is easy for readers to empathise with them, experiencing their angst, turmoil and drams throughout the story.

Doctor Gavin McKinnon is going to New York to stay with his sister and her housemates for a month long vacation. He’s really read to catch up with Anna and his brother Sean, both of whom live in the city. He’s had a traumatic time after his long term girlfriend, Siobhan, broke up with him 8 months ago but he’s starting to get over it and when he walks into his home for the next month he’s greeted by a knife wielding, feisty and very attractive female, Toni Westmore. Talk about instant lust/love! These two are wary but so attracted to each other. She also had a bad relationship experience, where her boyfriend was verbally abusive, demeaning her and totally shaking her self-confidence, so she no longer does long term relationships. The two agree to a summer fling, with a definite cut off date when her returns back to Ireland. The best laid plans, however, are often scuppered when love comes into the mix! Will they be able to leave their sexy summer fling and go their separate ways or will love tie them together? How could they make a long distance relationship work - and is it worth risking heartbreak if things go wrong?

The other books in this series published so far are:

His Touch by Patty Blount

His Kiss by Jolyse Barnett

You can also read more about the earlier romance of Sean McKinnon and Cassandra Baines in ‘All I Want for Christmas’ which is also by Jennifer Gracen

Thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley too, for letting me read an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This is the third and final book in the Summer in New York trilogy. I really liked this book. I loved Gavin........a doctor on holiday from Ireland...what's not to love. Gavin is spending a month at the beach with his sister and her friends. One of those friends is Toni Westmore, who is stuck in a job she hates and has no interest in a relationship. From the moment they meet sparks fly between Gavin and Toni. They agree to a summer fling but it grows into an emotional entanglement neither was looking for. The day Gavin has to return home comes much too quickly, and they need to decide if they should just kiss and part ways as planned, or take a leap of faith and see if their love can last.

This is a well written book with believable characters that you care about and root for. There were other characters introduced in this book so hopefully we will see them in the future.

Book 3 in the Summer in New York series is a sweet, quick summer read. Gavin comes to New York from Ireland to visit his sister and brother in New York. His sister has a summer job and house on the beach with an extra room, which is a perfect place to spend a month. When he meets his sister's best friend, Toni, the spark is instant. Toni has a job she is over-qualified for and is stalled in life. A summer fling with an expiration date is seems like the perfect answer. As they get to know each other, they realize that they could have so much more, if only they lived on the same side of the ocean.
Gavin is a sweet wonderful guy who despite his past relationship, is willing to put his all into the relationship with Toni. Toni, more affected by her past relationship, needs to find the confidence to make small changes in her life, much less finding the courage to make massive changes.
The story had well-developed characters, both main and secondary. I thoroughly enjoyed the story, and it can be read without reading any others in the series, but it was fun too revisit past characters.

His Love was the perfect way to end the Summer in New York. I've enjoyed all the stories in the Summer in New York series. But I may have to admit that I can't resist Irish Gavin McKinnon. The chemistry between Gavin and Toni is irresistible. I couldn't stop turning the pages, I needed to know what was going to happen at the end of summer.

Toni is not ready to put any time or effort into a relationship with anyone let alone a man. She now will think about a summer fling, I mean come on who wouldn't there is nothing to loose and you can always keep yourself separate right? Gavin is really happy to be getting a break from life in Dublin. He is ready to heal on move on from the past and see what the future holds. He is given the chance to have a summer fling with the most gorgeous girl and he can't wait to have the next 4 weeks with her, I mean really what can go wrong.

This was a fun book. Its really steamy and HOT. The chemistry was coming off the pages and ready to draw you in. I loved Gavin and his relationship with his family, the closeness but the bickering banter. Toni has such a sweet spirit at some points my heart was breaking for her. The value of friendship and family is important in this book and I just loved that. This book seemed to a little longer then the others in the series but over all the book was short and sweet and very much worth the read.

This was such an amazing book! I thought it was like a wonderful little romantic drama rolled into a novel. I only requested this book because I had read a previous Jennifer Gracen novel and enjoyed it. But I was hooked from the second I began reading. There's romantic, there's drama, there's passion and there's colourful characters. I really can't wait to read more.

Summer in New York series ...

Book 1: His Touch by Patty Blount Excellent start to a series. It was fun and heartwarming, well written and relatable. Nothing over the top, just simple romance.

Book 2: His Kiss by Jolyse Barnett Really well written story of struggle and growth and perseverance and love .... This series keeps getting better and better..

Book 3: His Love by Jennifer Gracen Another excellent read in this series. Well written with endearing characters and an engaging story-line. The story is passionate with just enough drama to keep you hooked.

Three excellent authors, each with their own unique style, have managed to write three stories, all with a central theme, but not connected in a way that they could not be read as standalones. So pick any of these quick reads or pick all three. You will not be disappointed!
