This wonderful little book teaches you how to create cute little dinosaurs and, really, they are very cute!

Some of the dinosaurs definitely seem harder than others, but that is great for someone who wants to be able to take on a challenge. No one wants them all to be easy.

I wouldn't necessary recommend this book to beginners unless they are very adept at reading instructions and can pick up reading them quickly as they are abbreviated.

This review is based on an eARC provided by the publisher via Netgalley.

SO CUTE! Easy to follow patterns, though UK crocheters need to watch their terminology. The stegasaurus is my absolute favourite!

Review will be posted September 25 Dinosaur Amigurumi is a book about crochet dinosaurs and how to make them. The book features 14 dinosaurs including my favorites Stegosaurus and Triceratops as well as TRex, Pterodactyl and more! The book starts out with abbreviations that will be used in the book as well as some notes on stitches. For each dinosaur there is a photo of the finished product, a list of materials that you will need, some tips and line by line instructions for each piece of the dinosaur. All the dinosaurs are adorable!

I received a free e-copy of this book in order to write this review, I was not otherwise compensated.

Cute book with really easy and well written patterns. The patterns are easy to follow and the instructions have tips to add variations to make the dinosaur different or give a special touch. They don't take a great deal of wool or time to make, which I really like. These would make lovely additions to any nursery or for the kinder for the children to make stories and games with - add a few wooden blocks and away they go. My granddaughter loves dinosaurs so some of these will be added to her collections. This book was supplied to me in return for a honest and unbiased review.

I think this book is fabulous. I will, of course, have to make the entire collection. I particularly like the classic stegosaurus and triceratops. I love the detail on the ankylosaurus that uses different stitches for the armoured scales on the back. Shame about the t-rex - it looks decidedly cute rather than ferocious, but otherwise definitely a keeper.

“Dinosaur Amigurumi” by Justyna Kacprzak is a easy to read and fairly easy to crochet set of dinosaurs. The pattern directions are well thought out and written. The dinosaurs themselves are quite cute and should be a hit with any dinosaur lover. As they are a little on the simple side (which is best for me as a crocheter), don’t look for a lot of detail and definition.

The dinosaur patterns included in this book are:

1. Dimetrodon 2. Ankylosaurus 3. Pachycephalosaurus 4. Stegosaurus 5. Mosasaurus 6. Corythosaurus 7. Apatosaurus 8. Tyrannosaurus rex 9. Tropeognathus 10. Edmontosaurus 11. Triceratops 12. Elasmosaurus 13. Pterodactyl 14. Parasaurolophus

The patterns call for Cotton-ish by Vickie Howell for Bernat yarn and use a size C (2.75mm) hook. The directions are definitely for US format crochet. The eyes used are (per dinosaur) either 2 each 4.5 or 6mm safety eyes depending on which dinosaur you are stitching. You will also need to pick up stuffing of your choice. My preference is polyester but you can use whatever you prefer. There are very simple general directions at the beginning of the book.

There are multiple cute pictures of each dinosaur from various angles, so it is easy to get an idea of how the finished product should look. While the author gives the hook size needed, as far as I can see (given I am looking at a pre-release version of the book), there is not stitch gauge given. Depending on your tension, you may want to move a hook size up or down to get the result that you prefer.

My grandson’s bedroom is decorated in dinosaurs, so I am really pleased to see such a great set of patterns to make for him. I will be purchasing a paper version of this book for my craft library and can hardly wait to start stitching some of the designs.

I received a digital ARC copy of this book from the publisher, Dover Publications, via Netgalley.

While I do not crochet, I was interested in this book because I've been reading a lot about Amigurumi and I wanted to check out the patterns. The dino's in this book are adorable. The designer clearly did a lot of research as they are very detailed, the legs on some of dinosaurs are moveable! I also liked that the designer puts in little tips, like how to add color, or how to make the head move. The patterns were easy to read. I need to learn to crochet so I can start making these guys!

Just in time for "Jurassic World" comes this absolutely adorable collection of fourteen of your favorite dinosaurs to crochet. Included are everyone's favorite dinos, Tyrannosaurus Rex and Triceratops. Each project has a photo of the completed critter and the directions are clearly laid out. It's not really for beginners, but it will give those just picking up a crochet needle something to aspire to. With the holiday season a few months away, now is the time to start crocheting your own Jurassic World for your favorite dinosaur lover.

14 cutie little dinosaur crochet patterns. Instructions are nice and clear but you will have to know how to crochet before you tackle any as there is no 'how to crochet' in the book.

I truly believe that amigurumi has brought crochet back into the crafting world limelight. Prior to the infiltration of these cute stuffed animals, crochet was often associated with granny squares and afghans knit by... grannies. Knitting has always been the way cooler cousin of crochet. But amigurumi has definitely upped crochet's cool factor. And amigirumis can really only be created by crochet. Knitting equivalents really just aren't the same.

Dinosaur Amigurumi by Justyna Kacprzak is awesome. All 14 patterns (from pterodactyls to stegosauruses) are really cute and are much nicer than free patterns found on-line. The patterns range in difficulty but should be fairly easy (and satisfying) to make for experienced crocheters.

This book is not intended for beginners. Basic stitches are not explained. That said, there are several helpful tips from the author throughout the book. This is not to say that a tenacious beginner could not use this book. With the help of YouTube or Google, a beginner could potentially learn the patterns quickly and with great success.

This book of crochet dinosaurs was too cute to pass up. I've crocheted little animals before with whatever leftovers I had at hand (mass produced until I had blisters for the tween to sell for entrepreneur project) and decided to do these right. Armed with the right sized hook from the store and the recommended yarn I ordered online, I got started.

I found the pattern devilishly simple and ALL the stops and starts along the way were entirely my own doing. For me, the starting place for each round seemed to wander so I started using a stitch marker so my own semi-inconsistent crochet habits don't make my dinosaurs' heads all crooked. Otherwise, I just keep doing what the pattern says and it takes shape.

The Cotton-ish yarn by Vickie Howell Bernat and hook size make a nice tight piece and I've had no issues with stuffing popping out between the stitches. The recommended yarn is very smooth, however, and combined with the slick metal hook taking my time has paid off.

I definitely recommend this book of patterns. These little guys will make terrific stocking stuffers for kids (and adults). If you're looking for something a little different to get into (or a project you can tuck in your purse or tote to work on whenever) this will definitely keep your hands busy.

Oh, and they are completely addictive.

Does this book motivate me to strike out on my own, experiment and see what sort of shapes I can create? Yes. For that reason alone I give it full marks.

I received a copy from Netgalley in exchange for my honest review.

Super cute and not to difficult to follow. I know a friend of mine I will purchase this for as she makes her son dinosaurs.

I fully admit that I picked up crochet exclusively to make adorable little stuffed toys. And I feel no shame about this. This book was quite useful in this regard, because what is cuter than stuffed dinosaurs!

This is a very solid collection of patterns. I really loved that the author included the stitch count at the end of each line--my skills are still kind of questionable, honestly, and I still count to make sure I haven't badly borked something up.

The additional stitches included in the front were also very helpful for a newbie, and would probably be a decent refresher for people who had more skills than I currently do.

The patterns are very cute. I'm working on one now, and though I have yet to finish it, I'm finding working on it to be easy and it is coming out quite well.

The book is well-organized and the pictures of completed dinosaur amigurumi are cute enough that it is hard to settle on one to start.

The only thing to keep in mind is that this book does assume that you have some very very basic crochet skills--if you have never picked up a crochet hook, this is probably not the way to learn, but it would be a good first pattern book. If you like to crochet and think the pictures on the front are cute, this is a solid addition to a crafting library.

This is a fantastic book. Easy to follow, great designs and look great, this is a new craze and my daughter has followed the patterns really simply, creating some amazing looking dinosaurs. She and I are both delighted and will be recommending this book to others.

Amigurumi is, apparently, the Japanese art of crocheting stuffed dolls and this one is filled with instructions to make fourteen different dinosaur-type creatures. The patterns are clear, the photographic images of the finished dinosaurs brilliant and the whole book is amazing! I don’t think it is designed for the absolute beginner but will be welcomed by anyone who is used to following crocheting instructions - it may even tempt me to try a different form of needlecraft! I have friends who will love this book and look forward to seeing some of them creating their own versions of these delightful dinosaurs!

Thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley, too, for letting me read an ARC of this book in exchange for this, an honest review.

Love this book!! Am trying to crochet a dinosaur now!! Fortunately, the author makes working on these look and sound easy. I have read other Amigurumi patterns and could not follow them. This book is allowing me to follow these directions. Thank you!!

Love this book not bee crocheting long and found this a good place to start Amigurumi. There are some easy patterns and also some that may be a more for expert.

I was given this from NetGalley in return of a honest review , thank you!

This book contained a lot of cute dinosaurs that seemed relatively easy to crochet - I found more than a few that I'd be interested in making for my very dinosaur-crazy nephew. The instructions are clear and easy to follow, and I appreciated the tips for possible changes that the author gave along the way.

A few nit-picks - a couple of the dinosaurs lacked photos from all angles - or rather, the wings were used to obscure some of the details when viewed straight on. It's not a huge issue, but might be worth taking into consideration for a later edition.

Another thing I missed was a quick description of the various stitches - possibly just a "American terms are used throughout the book" under the glossary section. Since American and British crochet terms are so different, it would be very helpful to just remind the reader of which terms the book uses - even if the reader is otherwise expected to know crochet stitches with no further instructions.

Cute dinosaur figures. Nice colorful images of the 14 dinosaurs but a background would have presented them better.

Let me start with saying that the dinosaurs, all of them, simply look amazing. They look super cute yet it's still always clear what dinosaur it's representing. Just looking at the pictures was a lot of fun.

Which brings me to the rest of the book about which I can't say that much. It claims to be suitable for all skill levels but I beg to differ. I'm a complete novice (as in I had zero experience since I never learned anything like it) and the instructions daunted me. So far, I haven't dared yet to make one, or at least give it a try. Nevertheless, I think the instruction will make much more sense to someone with at least some basic skills.

Did I mention just how cute they are?

Thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for providing me with a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review!

This book was filled with fantastic patterns and pictures of dinosaurs. I'm very new to amigurumi so there were some symbols that I didn't understand and needed to look up. I haven't completed one yet but looking through this book pushed me to pick up my crochet hooks and yarn again. :)

Dinosaur Amigurumi is a fun collection of Dinosaur patterns to crochet. Triceratops, Apatosaurus, Tyrannosaurus Rex and Pterodactyl are among the dinos you can make.
I began making the Triceratops and I found the pattern easy to follow. I stopped at the head. My one qualm is that there were no finished dimensions listed for the finished product. I like to know what size the finished toy will be. I unraveled my work once I realized the Triceratops would be a bit larger that I thought, and that I would need more yarn.
I don't know if the lack of finished dimension listed is due to the fact that I received a review copy that was perhaps unfinished. There was also no stitch guide, which every pattern book tends to have for reference.
From crocheting the head, I found the pattern easy to follow. I like this collection of cute dino patterns, however I do wish it were more detailed.

I absolutely loved this amigurumi book - it contained so many cute designs. I have yet to try out any patterns myself but they are definitely on my long to-try list! The book was illustrated attractively and set out very clearly, so I definitely recommend this to other crochet lovers!

Absolutely adorable amigurumi! A nice variety of dinosaurs, and the directions look to be easy to follow and offer different options for a few of the designs. I am really looking forward to trying these out--especially the cutie on the cover!
