Rooted in Love (previously published in An Amish Garden)

Rosemary Lantz is doing her best to run her family’s household. She excels at all her tasks except one: gardening. Saul Petersheim has pursued Rosemary for years, but Rosemary keeps turning him down. What Saul doesn’t know is that she has good reason—something no one can know—especially not him.

A Love for Irma Rose

The year is 1957, and young Irma Rose has a choice to make. Date the man who is “right” for her? Or give Jonas a chance, the wild and reckless suitor who refuses to take no for an answer?  Irma Rose steps onto the path she believes God has planned for her, but when she loses her footing, she is forced to rethink her choice.

Patchwork Perfect

Eli Byler has been a widower for two years when he chooses to make a fresh start in Paradise, Pennsylvania. As Eli juggles the admiration of two women, he meets Miriam Fisher—the most unconventional Amish woman he’s ever met. She doesn’t fit the mold for what Eli is looking for, but it isn’t long before Eli realizes that Miriam is everything he wants. But Miriam has no plans to get married—ever.  Will Eli be able to change her mind?

An Amish Year by Beth Wiseman contains four stories written over the course of one years time. Even though each are stand alone, every story takes place during one of the seasons of the year, spring, summer, winter and fall. Each of the main characters within the stories is facing a cross road or crisis in their lives. Rosemary has come to the conclusion she will be an old maid. Irma isn't sure which man to marry. Eli wants a new wife but his kids feel different. While Katherine is trying to forge a new normal path after tragedy. Will each of these characters find the path that God leads them? Or will they try to make their own path and go against God?
This is a great read to curl up with on a quiet night and let it lift you away.

Very enjoyable stories taking place throughout the year. In each of the stories faith in God prevailed. The novellas are perfect to read when time is short and your spirit needs uplifting.

Beth Wiseman has created four delightful novellas. I can not choose one favorite of the four novellas as they are all so engaging. I found myself caught up in the lives of the Amish couples and I could easily imagine I was right there in Amish country with them. Several of the couples deal with having lost a spouse and looking for another spouse and parent for their children. The Amish encourage widows and widowers to find another spouse very soon after their one year of mourning. With so much work to be done daily without the convenience of modern appliances, this is certainly a practical decision. I rate this collection 5 stars and highly recommend it to readers. I received an ebook version of this collection of novellas from netgalley in exchange for my honest review.

These are short but very uplifting stories. I read several while waiting at the Dr's office. Sometimes you need a story that isn't full of drama, sex etc.,this book fills that need

Another “home run” for Beth Wiseman. This book of 4 novellas increases our “family” of Amish friends as we begin to feel a part of each person’s life. The four novellas each run through one of the seasons of the year. As each person faces a dilemma in life, I found myself wanting to hurry through each one in order to see the outcome, then disappointed that the book didn’t continue to let me see “what happens next”.

Any of these novellas could easily become a series of books. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and would highly recommend it to anyone who likes to read the Amish genre of books.

Beth is a fantastic Amish fiction author. She pulls you into her books from the beginning.

Wonderful stories, short and sweet but complete. Each story draws you in, is unique and thankfully not predictable as many amish stories can be. I fell in love with the characters, though I admit I would have liked to have seen a stronger spiritual emphasis. Still, very good stories!

I love reading anything Beth Wiseman writes. She draws me into the story. I was not disappointed in this book, she made me feel like I was there with the characters.
Rosie and Saul dated when they were younger. Rosie overhears something and just assumes its true years later after an accident and many request from Saul she agrees to see him again. I won't spoil the story so please get the book and read it you won't regret it.

Beth Wiseman has a gift of drawing the reader into the story, and we are soon walking in the main character’s shoes and living their lives.
This book has four novellas, and having read most all of Beth’s books, I have read some of these before, but I sure didn’t mind reading them again, and enjoying.
Love a read that I can sit down and finish in one sitting, and with each of these stories it is a possibility and each become page-turners, so you do have to read to the end.
These stories will warm you heart and make you want more, I for one am glad I read these, and can’t wait for the next book to come out.
I received this book through Net Galley and the Publisher Thomas Nelson, and was not required to give a positive review.

An Amish Year by Beth Wiseman is one of the most enjoyable reading I've done this holiday season. The Four Novellas have great plots and well defined characters. The stories are engaging and short enough to read one at a time or all at once.

Ms. Wiseman is a gifted author and her stories are down to earth, full of faith, love and hope. I highly recommend this book to all of you!
Also, don't forget to check out the two very scrumptious sounding recipes included at the end of the book. I can't wait to make them!

Thank you to Thomas Nelson Publishing and Netgalley for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for an honest review.
