Pick Up All Your Pots and Pans (Kindle Edition)
by Heather Moresby
Acute story about not being restricted by our ability. An Alien comes with idea of easy eating but that causes a problem. With lessons with cooking, and understanding things change. It contains recipes for simple foods for children.
I loved this! I read this with my 5 year old and we both really enjoyed reading this. The story and artwork tied in so beautifully and brought the story together. My son thought the alien rap was so catchy and had me repeating it. As a parent, I enjoyed what the story line was trying to tell. I would definitely recommend this book! We're looking forward to reading it again.

This book was such a hit in our home! My children absolutely loved it at bedtime
they laughed at Barry Alien’s silly plan and rooted for Faye from beginning to end. The story is fun, imaginative, and full of energy, and it quickly became a favorite.
What makes it even better is the interactive extras we love the recipes in the back of the book and the Fruit and Veggie Game. It turns storytime into a whole experience we can enjoy together, long after the last page.
We can’t wait to see more from this author! This book has earned a special place on our bedtime shelf.
The idea for this book was quite unique! Aliens come to earth and try to get us to stop cooking, but Faye, the main character, teaches the aliens that cooking is special and important! The book also includes a little game at the end of spying fruits and veggies in the book, and several healthy recipes. This book would be a good book to use for teaching the importance of healthy cooking over junk food.
A very cute book about how making your own food can be more enjoyable than pre-packaged, especially if done with the ones you love.
I really liked the illustrations.
This was a cute story about an alien coming to earth and learning a lesson that quick and easy isn't always the best. Faye shows Barry how to cook and he heads home having learned a new and important skill.

A well-intentioned book that should have some good success in achieving what it sets out to do. Faye is surprised to meet an alien, especially perhaps one called Barry, but takes him home for a good bowl of food – only for Barry to betray her and spread a message of intergalactic, cooking-free foods of the future (think liquid burgers, pureed pork pies, and plastic jar after plastic jar of donuts). Disgusted at this, Faye has to try and turn him on to the idea of home cooking – and by the time that's achieved or not we get half a dozen recipes for our junior hands to tackle. OK, the stew is the easiest and cheapest stew imaginable, one to raise eyebrows in even the stingiest, dingiest student digs, but there is a freshness and ease about the rest to make them most suitable.
Also incredibly suitable, fresh and easy (to read) is the rhyming narrative here, with a very well-sustained verse structure. Good levels of achievement with the art make this more than fun to experience, but it's the rhymes here that really prove this to be a polished affair. With a kind of boardgame-styled veg hunt also included, it's definitely hoped this turns some young readers on to cooking, sharing kitchen time and fresh food. It's given itself almost the best of chances – four and a half stars.
This book was a big hit in our house. My 2 year old is very into aliens at the moment so this came at the perfect time. Such a cute story about how important good food is for our body and how it is about so much more than the food. Includes a lovely finding game and recipes to create as a family.
I have ordered the physical book and recommended it to friends. Thank you so much
