This is a book I've been desperately needing since I've become a new mom almost 2 and half months ago! Like anybody else, some days are better than others and being a postpartum first time mom dealing with a newborn and not knowing anything, I feel like I've been thrown to the wolves and said good luck. This has helped bring back my mentality and my spirituality to almost where it was before I had our daughter. This devotional has been truly amazing and I feel like it was God showing me the way to finding this book and being accepted to read this at my leisure. This has been truly inspirational and I couldn't be happier!

I would love to thank the author, publisher and NetGalley for giving me the opportunity to read this ARC book in exchange for an honest review.

This is a great devotional for new moms but all moms really. We put so much pressure on ourselves to be all the things or do things the best way or a certain way. I love how the stories tie in with scripture and it’s all very encouraging.. would be a great gift!

I once saw a meme that said “it’s funny how our childhood punishments become our adult rewards!” I remember when my children were in that chaotic baby and toddler stage begging someone to send Mommy for a timeout too! During those early childhood seasons, mothers experience so much fatigue, stress, self doubt, overwhelm and guilt among other things. As a Christian mother you, feel guilty because you no longer have the capacity or time to sit down and have devotion time with God like you used to. “Two Minute Timeout” is the perfect remedy to meeting Christian mother’s spiritual and emotional needs. I used to say during those seasons of my life “you need to snack on God”. God doesn’t require a specific amount of time given to Him, he just asks that we are good stewards of what we have. He knows mothers have zero time, and is delighted that we would even choose to give him some of the crumbs that we have left. This book is so much more than giving time to God. It’s wonderful for any new mother’s mental health. It helps you apply your faith to challenges, encourages you in areas you feel inadequate or places we beat ourselves up over. It gives us perspective and even has opportunity to develop character. Each day’s devotion includes a scripture, a story of wisdom based on the scripture and a small prompt to get you to apply it. It will only take 2 minutes and it will be two minutes of respite every over stretched mother needs. It would be a perfect gift for any new mother or someone you know who needs a little encouragement in their day
