Description

He held her through her darkest moments, caught her tears on capable shoulders, but one thing kept them apart.

At twenty-six, Katie McGregor has hit rock bottom. She's done reckless things a good girl like her never thought she'd do. Like hiring a private investigator to spy on her sleazy boyfriend, walking out on her job without notice, and going home to the one man who'd never left her thoughts.
Jake Johnson. Her brother's best friend. The one whose glance made her pulse race, whose touch made her knees weak—and whose words broke her heart.
Three years ago, both reeling from a hurt bigger than either one could handle, they moved apart and retreated into their careers. Now, Jake has it all, and Katie has... nothing but memories.
Katie is thrilled when Jake welcomes her into his home with open arms and the same sexy smile. But is he the same jock who doesn't do relationships and treated her like a little sister? And with so much between them, can they overcome the hurts from the past to ignite a love that perhaps has smoldered all along?

Taylor Sullivan is now firmly on my Authors to watch out for list. Home to You was a perfect romance book that held enough drama to keep the book interesting without it taking away from the romance itself. I adored Katie and Jake's heartbreaking story and I found myself really rooting for them as a couple throughout the book. I won't lie there are things that I would change about this book such as a Jake's girlfriend whom I wanted to strangle and throw in a fire, and also I really would have loved an epilogue that showed what happened to Katie and Jake. I found the secondary characters to be really enjoyable and I sincerely hope that they get their own sequels as their really were some personalities that practically jumped off the page. Home to You was such an enjoyable read and I was completely enthralled in this story from beginning to end. You can tell just how much the main characters love each other and yet at the same time you understand why they have yet to start a relationship. I would recommend this book to anyone looking for a refreshing and moving contemporary romance. Truly beautiful.

Katie McGregor life was just turned upside down, so she quits her job and moves back to her home, Jake. The man she loves, whom she has loved since she was fourteen, but who views her a sister. Can she handle being around him, or will she jeopardize the relationship they have?

What I liked: I liked that Katie stood up for herself and didn't fall for the lies Kevin tried to feed her. It was a great story, told very well. I liked that Sullivan used the Ex, a lot of books they just simply evaporate but the treat lingers. Sullivan uses this to her advantage. I liked Jake. He was possessive and cared for Katie. He carried some guilt, but he seemed to be a genuine guy. I liked that they had a friendship base. I liked the flashbacks so you had some history. The story was good and well written, especially for a debut novel!

What I didn't: I wish the flashbacks would have included more than just one friend. I would have like to seen Jake's point of view or an epilog.

I also hope that the author tells us Em's story. There was a little bit, but that story would be worth reading!!

Content: Had some descriptive sex scenes. Some violence and abuse.

I received a free copy from NetGalley for a honest review, Thank you!
