In Tough Love for Indie Authors, publishing expert Keri-Rae Barnum and literary agent Amy Collins reveal what it really takes to succeed in self-publishing. This is a grear book full of advice regarding all parts of self publishing. I am writing a novel and found the advice regarding genre and editing most helpful. Will definitely refer. back. This would be a great book for any indie authors bookshelf regarding craft.
Oh my goodness, this is a beautiful resource for writers. As someone who has written and published my own titles on Amazon, I was immediately drawn to this title. I appreciate how Barnum structured the content, and I thought it flowed well. I took a lot of notes and have a better understanding of all that truly goes into getting a book out into the world. Thanks to NetGalley for the advanced copy.

Big whoosh of gratitude to Keri-Rae Barnum for TOUGH LOVE FOR INDIE AUTHORS. Engaging prose and clear, straight discussion about what felt like a mysterious and dangerous, fraught with peril publishing journey. Definitely gave me the information and the motivation to continue with my novel, having a useful guide along for the ride. I received a copy of this book and these thoughts are my own, unbiased opinions.
I enjoyed this new writing craft book! It was easy to understand, and the short chapters made it enjoyable. It had a lot of information I didn't know (and stuff I didn't know I didn't know, if that makes sense), and I felt like it was helpful for both indie authors and trad pub authors. I'm mostly pursuing trad, but it was still useful to know all the things that go into the publishing process so I can position myself when/if the time comes. Definitely recommend to authors wanting to take their publishing journey seriously!
