Description
Don’t worry, Doll. You’ll taste heaven before you walk with the dead.
Was I dead? I had wanted to die. I remembered deciding that I was done with this life and done with the memories and ghosts that haunted me. I’d looked at the darkness below and prayed for it to swallow me whole. Spreading my arms wide, I stepped off the ledge and woke up in hell. At least, I thought it was hell. It was hard to tell anymore. My soul was ripped from my chest long before now, and my heart had stopped beating when the gavel banged, sentencing me to five years in prison. So what was this place?
The man who had me must be the devil, and I was his doll. Solely there for his entertainment. I never expected the devil to be as sexy as sin and just as tempting as an addiction. Even in death, tortured, and used, I couldn’t be helped. I wanted him, and every depraved thing he did only hammered home that my soul couldn’t be saved.
I always knew I was destined for hell.

This book was amazing not to mention how fabulous the audio was!! I love pitch black/ dark romance! Greyson is the best version of morally grey and Miss Alora has such amazing character development! Please check your trigger warnings before reading this 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ ammmazzzzinnngggg
I feel it was written well. I loved the dark nature and themes that they went through. The plot was amazing and I honestly loved the book. I love the stalker personality Greyson has. Stalker books are hit or miss, they need to be executed perfectly and I feel this was perfectly executed! I listened to the audiobook of it and I LOVED the sound effects and emotions the VA’s put into this project. I loved how Alora’s mind worked. How she fought so hard to keep her past in the past but was still burdened with it until she faced it. For my first ARC while being back, was most definitely worth it. Does contain very mature themes, and definitely 18+. The smut scenes were very well written and didn’t feel cringey or overbearing like some books can feel. Everything was very well proportioned! Can’t wait to purchase a physical copy.

OMG, that audio literally tore me apart. I devoured it in two sittings and totally ignored adulting!
Oh my Lord, I laughed, I kicked my feet, I cried, my heart broke so much 💔. I am now sat staring at a wall... ooopphhh.
I absolutely love Grayson; he is totally unhinged but so good too! The narrator, Nowhere Eternity, was fabulous and really made me feel like Grayson was speaking in my ears! They totally nailed the unhinged, psychopath MMC.
Alora is a strong little badass. The trauma that she went through and what she's been living with for the last 8 years—I swear my heart hurt a lot reading this.
I thoroughly enjoyed this audiobook and its production too!
As always, please make sure you check the trigger warnings ⚠️ There's a lot going on in this book!
This one grabbed me immediately and did not let go. I loved the New Orleans setting. It added so much atmosphere to an already dark, gritty story that felt raw and messy in the best way. The audio was especially well done and made the unhinged energy hit even harder. The characters are deeply imperfect, including a sociopathic serial killer, yet somehow perfect for each other, with surprisingly strong character development. It’s intense, messy, and not for everyone, but I could not stop reading.
4.25⭐️
Thank you to Brooklyn Cross for the ALC in exchange for my honest opinion.

🖤📚 Bloody Quarter is a dark, intense journey into the depths of trauma, desire, and forbidden temptation. From the very first page, I was captivated by the raw honesty of the protagonist’s voice—her pain, her desperation, and her conflicted longing. 😔🔥
The story opens with a haunting question: was she already dead? The author masterfully explores themes of despair and escape, delving into a world where pain and pleasure intertwine in the most dangerous ways. 💀💔 The protagonist’s mind is a tangled maze of trauma, yet amidst the darkness, an undeniable attraction to the devil himself emerges—seductive, dangerous, and utterly addictive.
There’s an emotional weight to this story that resonates deeply, as it confronts the shadows we all carry and the allure of darkness. The writing is gritty and evocative, pulling you into a world where innocence is lost, and the line between pain and pleasure blurs. 🖤✨
If you’re drawn to dark romance that explores the complexities of trauma, the allure of danger, and the seductive pull of the forbidden, Bloody Quarter is an unforgettable read. Just a word of caution—this book is intense and deeply emotional, perfect for those who appreciate stories that challenge and provoke. 🔥📖

Wow, this book an audiobook was very well done both narrow narrators did an amazing job and combined with the writing. It’s transported you to the streets of New Orleans. It’s definitely an extremely dark romance. All absolutely want to check the trigger warnings before reading. But overall, the book was great. This was the first book I’ve read by Brooklynn Cross, but I really hope to read more in the future and hope that she brings us back to Grayson and Alora’s world.

Dark and Spicy, an enjoyable and a bit of a twisty read. The spice was definitely spicy and I really loved our FMC, Alora. She has so much trauma, so much loss and grief and she is still a genuinely kind human who deserves so much more.
Our MMC is dark, depraved and obsessive. To the point that it was a but much for me, but I’m not generally a dark romance reader, so if this is your preferred genre, it probably wouldn’t even give you pause.
I liked the pacing, but I will say that there were some continuity errors and such that kept me from rating this higher. Dogs cannot be CPR certified, in the beginning of the novel it was mentioned that Greyson has gone to medical school to learn procedures, etc, then it’s later stated that he was “premed” and that’s where he learned to do NG tubes and catheters. No, you don’t learn those things in pre med programs. Those little things really kept me from rating this higher. I know it’s pedantic but those kinds of things irk me when I’m reading.
If you like dark romance, strong character development, extra spice and a FMC you really can root on, you will love this book.
Brooklyn Cross audiobooks immersive audio background paired with the narration pulls you straight into the darkness.
This story is raw, twisted, and layered with themes of acceptance, forgiveness, and retribution. Greyson is a serial unaliver who loves what he does—he’s unapologetic, unfiltered, and unhinged. Alora, on the other hand, has been overlooked by both her family and the justice system after suffering a devastating loss, leaving her mentally and emotionally exhausted.
When Greyson and Alora collide, everything changes. Their connection is dark, intense, and laced with danger, but it’s also deeply emotional. They don’t try to fix each other—they embrace the monsters within and find comfort in the chaos they share. It’s toxic, consuming, and impossible to look away from.
The audiobook experience was phenomenal. Nowhere Eternity and Katrina Medina nailed the performances, bringing heat, emotion, and menace. If you love dark romance with morally gray characters, spicy scenes, and the justice the FMC needed this is a must-listen. 🔥🖤

I received a free audiobook copy of this book from NetGalley. I am posting this review for free and completely of my own free will.
Bloody Quarter by Brooklyn Cross was f**cked. Capital F. Literally AND metaphorically. No notes. Actually? Many notes but no idea what to do with them. I went in blind and came out in shock.
This book double hand grabbed me by the throat from the rip and did not let go. The writing was solid, the pacing is perfect, and the story had me in a constant state of emotional whiplash. One minute I hated Greyson with my whole soul and the next I was like. . . Hold up? Why is he being kind right now? What is happening right now? I did NOT consent to this level of internal conflict. If you thrive on touch her and die energy, stalker behavior, serial killer MMCs, and pet names, this book is your for you.
This book was. . . Dark. My god. This is not just dark romance, this is pitch black, soul swallowing, stare into the void and it glares back, dark. Imagine Vantablack. Now imagine something even darker that should not exist. That’s this book. It felt like Dexter and You had a baby, but the secret baby daddy was actually Haunting Adeline. And they lost custody of it before they even left the hospital.
Now, the spice. It is heavy and filthy, and not everyone’s cup of tea. So be mindful of your triggers coming into this because it is no joke.
But what really messed me up was the emotional aspect. The grief. The trauma. The way her loss seeps into everything and makes it hurt in quiet, hideous ways; including the “good” moments; if you can even call them that. The way her mindset struggles the entirety of the book. I was simply not prepared.
The audiobook portion of this was **chefs kiss**
Both of the narrators knocked it out of the park. The pacing was phenomenal. The interaction between both voice actors was the best that I have ever listened to. EASY five star listen.
Overall? This is a solid 4.5 for me. This book was a hard read, in a good way. Pitch black romance besties are going to eat. This. Up.
