Description

Written by Daddy and illustrated by his six-year-old son, Zen.

What does it really mean to love your child?

This book explores the most powerful love you can ever give your child: emotional connection. Emotional connection is about how well you acknowledge how your child feels. Many parents struggle with this-because their own feelings were never acknowledged when they were children.

This children's book is meant for all ages, big and small. It helps children feel loved by feeling seen and heard, while also helping adults reconnect with the little kid inside of them (their inner child). Only then can they fully see and acknowledge their own children.

Many emotional struggles in children come from a lack of emotional connection. This is not a book about gentle parenting, but about emotional parenting-when you parent your inner child emotionally, parenting and connecting with your child becomes a magical experience.

If your child struggles with anxiety, anger, or sadness, this book is a great place to begin understanding what they are feeling and why, so they can truly be free of it.

Michael's teachings come from his practice, Heal From the Ground Up. If you treat your feelings, and pain like an emotional weed and pull it from above the ground, the weeds just keep coming back. You have to pull these weeds from the root, to truly be free of them.

This was a lovely book to help families understand their feelings. I absolutely love that the illustrator is the author's child, it gives the book a really family friendly feel.

The family discussion guide at the end is a great addition, encouraging families to work together and implement things from the book, in their own lives.

Seeing Me is Loving Me by Michael Hsu is a profound exploration of emotional parenting. It speaks to both children and the "inner child" in every adult, teaching that being truly "seen" is the highest form of love.

Why It’s a Must-Read:

Healing Message: Drawing from his Heal From the Ground Up practice, Hsu shows how to "pull emotional weeds" and stop intergenerational trauma.

Dual Impact: It helps children manage big emotions like anxiety or anger while guiding parents to reconnect with their own emotional needs.

A transformative tool for building deeper, more meaningful family bonds.

Seeing Me Is Loving Me by Michael Hsu and illustrated by Zen Hsu (you are super funny little dude) keep it up!!!

A cute book about feelings, understanding feelings, and loving who you are no matter what you are feeling. Its about how kids have feelings and how parents can understand them and the same with parents and their feelings sometimes as well. The back of the book has a guide also about discussing feelings.

Loved this book, and highly recommend

A book written and illustrated by a Father, who is a psychologist, and his young son who illustrated the book. The book is about feelings and being seen and acknowledged and growing up. It is unique in that it is drawn by a young child and the writing, while done by the Father, seems to have been generated by the son. As the end of the book are some pages of psychology guidance. For a brief read, it packs in a lot.
