Description

Are you physically and emotionally exhausted at the thought of going through one more day of parenting?

An incredible two-thirds of working parents report burnout. Caregiver, spouse, teacher, cook, cleaner, emotional support-today, as parents, we're tasked with doing more than ever for our families, and it's all just too much. We're depressed. We're anxious. We're touched-out. We're nowhere close to the parents we know we can be on our best days.

Written by leading experts and researchers in this field, Working Parent Burnout outlines the signs and symptoms of parental burnout and talks through evidence-based tools to recover and prevent further harm. The 8 strategies in this book run the gamut from small, everyday changes to brighten your day, to large, goal-shifting changes to heal and strengthen your relationship with your family.

You can learn how to take care of yourself and your family and heal from burnout as a working parent. Whether you're managing toddlers, pre-teens, or teenagers, you can learn how to not just survive the chaos but truly thrive.

This book is a must-read for any working parent. If you feel like you are just surviving each day, buy this book immediately. Authors Kate Gawlik and Bernadette Mazurek Melnyk make you feel seen and understood right from the start. They prove that parental burnout is a real issue, not a personal failure.

The book is packed with useful tools that fit easily into a busy schedule. It includes a quick 10-point scale to measure your own daily stress. It also gives eight easy, proven steps to help you recover. Instead of chasing the lie of being a "perfect" parent, this book teaches you how to be a happy parent. It is a comforting, practical roadmap to finding joy in your family life again.

I really enjoyed this as a full time working Mum to a toddler who is feeling the strain recently.

The tips were very useful and something I can use on a daily basis.

I also appreciated the comparison between burnout and anxiety disorders as I myself suffer from GAD, so it was interesting to understand the difference and how to beat manage this.

Thank you for the opportunity to read and review this!
