Description
Here comes another standalone heartwarming and humorous romance in the Doctors of Oak Bluff series by Amazon Top-5 author Miranda Liasson, who “deals with so much of what makes life hard . . . without ever losing the warmth and heart that characterize her writing.” ~ Entertainment Weekly.
Coming soon in e-book and print. For fans of Kristan Higgins, Susan Mallery, and Lori Wilde.
A grumpy ER boss and a sunshine doctor think they’ve sworn off romance—until one tiny baby decides to play matchmaker.
When Dr. Ani Green drags herself onto the plane after her wedding-that-never-was, she’s a self-described mess who has sworn off all relationships for good. But her "honeymoon for one" has a silver lining: Adam. He’s the kind, charming stranger who takes her trip from unbearable to almost fun.
What happens in Turks and Caicos stays there.
She left the island thinking she’d never see him again—only to walk into her new ER shift and realize that her vacation fling is her new boss. And he’s not the man she remembers.
Dr. Adam Lowenstein doesn’t do "fun." He does rules, schedules, and whatever it takes to shield his heart from any more grief. His time in Turks and Caicos was a temporary lapse in judgment. Now that he’s the Head of Emergency Medicine, he needs to be the stoic leader—not the man who fell for a whirlwind of a woman under a tropical sun. If that means denying his connection with Ani, so be it.
Until a patient surrenders a baby with a desperate plea for help.
As their professional boundaries crumble, Adam and Ani are forced to bridge the gap between who they were on the island and who they are now. Now, they must work together to protect a tiny life—and find out if the family they never thought they’d have is the one they can’t live without.

Beautiful beautiful beautiful book! It had me giggling and kicking my feet as the kids would say. I loved the dual Dr. aspect and how they each where going through something but came together not only for each other but for a little life as well. Love this author and can’t wait for more. Her writing is incredible

I just started reading books by Miranda Liasson this year. I am so glad I did. I really loved this book. It was funny, sweet, heartwarming, and romantic. I thought Taylor was adorable and I loved the name Ani gave the baby. The ending was really good. Reading about the dogs in this books, makes me really want one. I look forward to the next book the author writes. I'm grateful that, netgalley and the publishers let me read this in exchange for an honest review.

What a wonderful, captivating read that truly shines a light on the frontline workers who play such an important role in our lives.
The story follows Ani and Adam—two complete strangers who meet on a flight to Turks and Caicos. Both are carrying their own literal and emotional baggage, each navigating personal struggles. They end up spending an unforgettable week together, forming a deep connection, only to part ways assuming they’ll never see each other again.
Ten months later, fate steps in. Ani, a pediatrician, finds herself working in the ER—where the head doctor is none other than Adam.
As if her life isn’t already complicated enough, Ani decides to foster a surrendered baby, adding both heart and challenge to her journey. Adam wants to support her, but he’s hesitant to get too involved. Watching them try to navigate their unresolved feelings while balancing demanding careers and personal struggles was both emotional and rewarding.
This is a beautiful, heartfelt story about second chances, love, and the weight—and wonder—of responsibility. I couldn’t put it down. Highly recommend!

This book drew me in right away! I loved all the characters. Very descriptive so I really could visualize the settings and felt like I was there. Also, showed how in small town the community pulls together and supports each other.
I loved Adam and Ani’s connection from the very beginning. His protectiveness was sweet. Made you fall in love with Adam! This book showed how grief can consume our lives and keep us from happiness. Feeling that you don’t deserve to be happy, but in the end that doesn’t honor the person you lost by being miserable.
Great story and an easy read. I will definitely read other books by Miranda!
