I loved this story about a boy on a cave tour with his family and dealing with big feelings.
My son and I enjoyed reading this book together. I loved the strategies in the book for dealing with big feelings like being scared or overwhelmed. I loved the illustrations and the cute salamanders! I also liked the page at the end with facts about the salamander.
Also, I really liked the font! It made it feel like a comic book.

I read this with my 5 year old son and we both loved it. It gave me an opportunity to discuss the feeling of anxiety with him and a coping mechanism he can use the next time he is anxious. He also became very intrigued by the salamander mentioned in this book so we did some research of our own. Now I can remind him to act like the salamander the next time he feels anxious.
Thank you so much to Author Sandra LJ and Netgalley for the ebook to read and review.
Cedric, his mom and grandma are going cave exploring with a tour guide, whilst there he sees a little salamander and becomes fascinated with them. Though soon his grandma hurts herself and Cedric goes into panic mode, when the firefighter comes, he helps give him techniques for staying calm.
Really sweet I really enjoyed the lesson within the story about even when you have big scary feelings that you can find a calm and safe way to stay as calm as possible. I really liked that it was the salamander that caught his eye earlier that was the key to helping him.
The book comes with giant full page illustrations that are very cute, I really enjoyed seeing how the cave was created, seeing the little salamanders roaming around in the cave. It’s a very sweet read and a great tool for guidance when things make you anxious or give you scary big feelings.
