This book was so much fun! It perfectly blended humor, adventure, and paranormal romance into a story that kept me smiling from beginning to end. I loved that it didn't take itself too seriously while still delivering plenty of action and heartfelt moments.

The characters had fantastic chemistry, and I especially enjoyed the witty banter throughout the story. The pacing was fast enough to keep me hooked, and every chapter left me eager to see what outrageous situation would come next. If you're looking for a lighthearted vampire adventure with plenty of charm, this is definitely worth picking up.

Oh my goodness!!!! We've got a historical romance here with a circus, ghosts and vampires. I was completely held captive with each page. When her blue eyes met his grey ones, I knew that regardless of station they would give there hearts away to each other. I also loved the friendship between Nora and Effie, meeting in a jail cell and being there for the same reasons makes for a good friendship. This was emotional and the characters healing was heart warming. I could go on and on about it. I enjoyed my time with this story and would love to revisit.

This book actually took me by surprise! From the first few pages i knew i was going to enjoy this because of the writing style, everything was so descriptive that i felt immersed into the story immediately. The paranormal aspects and the circus setting were so interesting and cool.

I also really enjoyed reading the slow burn between the main characters, and the interactions with the side characters as well. The ending did feel a little bit rushed but either way i gasped at the reveals, i wish the reveal lasted somewhat longer just because i wanted to keep reading more, but it was still so good. I really would’ve loved just more of this story because i was having so much fun reading it, i loved the atmosphere descriptions so much and the writing was just so good!! I definitely recommend this.

I really enjoyed Effie’s journey from a sheltered lady trapped by society’s expectations to a woman determined to uncover the truth and take control of her own fate. The chemistry between Effie and Liam added just the right amount of tension, while the vampire hunting brought plenty of danger and intrigue.

Moody, atmospheric and wonderfully gothic, this was such a fun read for anyone who loves their romance with a little blood and bite. 🩸✨

A Lady’s Guide to Vampire Hunting was such a great gothic paranormal romance! I loved the gaslit, atmospheric setting, vampires, forbidden romance and the unlikely partnership between Effie and Liam. The combination of historical romance and vampire hunting made for a really entertaining and great read (such good pacing that I was done in one sitting and it was over before I knew it, which I am still sad about, having already finished it - so good!)

Effie was such a great character to follow as she fought against the expectations placed on her. A dark, romantic and adventurous read that I really enjoyed!

absolutely blown away by how engrossed i was in this to have set it down to pee and realized i was already 75% so naturally, had to finish. this was a fantastic read. the mood? perfection. the pacing? loved. the characters? loved. the things that came out of it? loved. the fact that it’s over and i have to wait for book 2? hate. 😂 two characters gave me very snape & lily potter vibes and i loved that little part. i’m so sad this ended and am left wanting more. and with that, i truly couldn’t have asked for a better feeling when finishing a book.

Cozy, spooky, mysterious, witty, fun, dark, sweet. I loved it !!
A prim and proper lady, ready to escape alone rather than follow her father’s wretched orders to marry her off to some old duke, faces a vampire and looses her brother. They believe her mad and treat her such. So, she leaves, trying to find the vampire who was responsible for her brother disappearance and seeking justice for him. Here, she meets the strange, a bit crazy and definitely mysterious man who talks to ghost, who also works in a circus with his twin sister. And she asks him to train her to kill a vampire. This premise alone is PERFECT. I’m finding myself reading books that are absolutely fascinating and enchanting and so spooky that Halloween can’t come soon enough. Effie and Liam’s story was one to make you obsessed. You’ll follow them into the dark pits of the hell they find themselves living in, hoping that somehow they can find the peace they both deserve. Action packed, intriguing, spicy (and oh so good) slow burn, romantic and fun. Again, I had an amazing time reading it !!! I read it so fast that when I got to the end, I was surprised it was already over!! I need another one !!

i absolutely loved this paranormal dark romance!! it was so fun to read and is perfect for spooky season. i will definitely be re-reading this one in October!

I was lucky enough to receive an ARC copy of this book and I must say that I absolutely adored it! This is definitely a read for anybody who is a fan of a Pride and Prejudice meets Buffy kind of read. I also have to say it was very well written and a quick read. The middle did drag a little but it was necessary for a character development and that ending was amazing!! If there's a sequel I will definitely be picking it up and reading it.

Historical paranormal romances are one of my favourite subgenres. I love historical romances and paranormal romances individually, but there's something extra special about the combination of them for me. It's probably the contradiction of the strict roles and rules of the Regency/Victorian time period with the wild, brutality of the paranormal that just thrills me every time. So when I saw the blurb for A Lady's Guide To Vampire Hunting, I jumped straight on it!

FMC Effie is the daughter of an Earl in Victorian London, and MMC Liam is a circus performer and boxer who can see ghosts. I loved both main characters, and really enjoyed the dual POV. I was equally drawn to the vampire plotline and the romance, so I couldn't put it down! I did go into this thinking it was a standalone, and it turns out that it is not! It's definitely the first book in a series, so be prepared for an incomplete story. I am all in for this series now though, and will absolutely be getting a beautiful SE copy of this book in an upcoming book subscription box. I have all my fingers crossed for matching sequels in the future too! Book 1 ends in a really exciting place, and I can't wait to find out even more about the world and see what happens next with Effie and Liam.

This might sound like a weird comparison because the time period is so different, but last week I read Leigh Bardugo's Ninth House trilogy, and with its supernatural creatures and a main character who can see and control ghosts, I can see some similarities between that series and this book. There's also a class difference between the two main characters, although it's the other way round here, compared to Ninth Houses's Alex and Darlington. If you loved that trilogy but also love historical romances, I definitely recommend A Lady's Guide To Vampire Hunting!

The premise of this book had me hooked instantly and it did not disappoint. I absolutely devoured it! Atmospheric, perfectly paced, intriguing plot and interesting characters. I didn't expect to cry but a certain 'leap' had me sobbing, it was perfect!

I loved the chemistry between the main characters, nothing seemed rushed between them and their connection felt very natural. The banter between all of the characters was also brilliant! Effie was such a great character; watching her break free of her shackles and take back control of her life was definitely a highlight for me!

One of the things that made this book stand out so much was that it felt like home! Despite the very big time difference this reminded me so much of where I live and grew up! I saw a lot of my Auntie in Rita: the line she says about being old, when offered help, is something I have heard so many times in my life and I didn't realise that just simply seeing the word Mam (not Mum or Mom) in a book would make me so incredibly happy!

I love this book. It was fun, fast-paced and heart-pounding. Liam and Effie leapt off the page and their romance was perfect. I also loved the friendship between Effie and Nora. Nora is definitely a girl’s girl and I’m here for it. She showed Effie just what freedom meant, while also protecting her from the harsh realities of it.

I was a little disappointed about the ending. It felt a little rushed, and there were so many threads left open. Effie and Liam’s storyline did have a good ending and the main storyline is tied up. The epilogue makes me think the second book might be about a different character, and I’m really looking forward to that.

If you like an atmospheric paranormal romance with a commentary about misogyny and class privilege, this one if for you.

Want to run away and join the circus? Sure, but make it dark Victorian and add vampires and ghosts!
