Description
Ten years ago, Jake Wheeler told his best friend, Emory Donovan, he loved her.
She said thank you.
Now Emory is back in Blue Crab Bay just long enough to help her grandmother run the town’s doughnut shop while she recovers from a broken leg.
Jake is back too. The former NFL quarterback has traded stadium lights for crab boats and dock sunrises, and when Emory walks back into town, he looks at her like she never left.
Between festivals, movie night on The Green, and a town that loves love a little too publicly, the distance Emory swore she’d keep disappears. So do the walls she built to protect herself from the one person she never truly got over.
She still sleeps in his jersey. He still sends Morse code across the water. And the words she couldn’t say at twenty are getting harder to outrun at thirty.
In a town where everyone has an opinion, privacy is mostly theoretical, and romance is practically a community event, Emory and Jake must decide whether first love belongs in the past...
...or if some people are worth risking your heart for twice.
Just One More Thing is a laugh-out-loud small town romantic comedy about childhood best friends, first love, second chances, a scene-stealing bulldog, and the kind of town you'll wish was real.
The first book in the Blue Crab Bay series.

I think Just One More Thing would be a great pick if you love small-town romance with lots of heart. The story has everything I enjoy in a rom-com—childhood best friends, second chances, funny moments, and a close-knit town where everyone seems to know everyone else's business. I was immediately rooting for Emory and Jake, especially with all the history they share and the feelings they never really got over.
I also liked that the story wasn't just about romance. It explores coming home, taking chances, and realizing that sometimes the right person has been there all along. The charming setting, community events, and even the scene-stealing bulldog make Blue Crab Bay feel like a place you'd want to visit.
If you're looking for a light, feel-good romance that's sweet, funny, and full of lovable characters, I'd definitely recommend giving this one a try. It's the kind of book that's easy to get lost in and leaves you hoping there are more stories to come from Blue Crab Bay.

Hands down my all time favorite story. I honestly don't even know how to put into words how much I loved this book.
It literally made my heart SWELL. I was cheesy smiling through probably 90% of it, laughing out loud, and completely falling in love with every single character. By the end I felt like I was part of their family/community, and that's my absolute favorite kind of book.
I could visualize every place, every scene, and every little moment so vividly that it felt like I was right there with them, or sneaking a peek at their next move 😉. I was so invested that I actually ordered a copy for my bookshelf before I even finished reading it... and I rarely ever buy books. That's how much I loved this one.
I never wanted this story to end and I'm sad it did! I already cannot wait to read the next book. This one will stay with me for a long, long time!
