Description
Something called to me from the darkness…
I should’ve ignored it. Walked away like I have from so many things. But I couldn’t. Not when it whispered my name like it knew me.
Then I found her.
Hidden. Untouched by time. A mystery I don’t understand—and a temptation I can’t resist. There’s something about her that pulls at me, threads through wounds I thought long buried.
I don’t trust it. I don’t trust her.
But I can’t stay away.
Something is stirring. Something that shouldn’t exist. And the closer I get to her, the more I feel it…waiting.
She may be the answer.
Or the beginning of the end.
Either way—I’m not walking away.
In the next gripping installment of the Dragon Kings series, Donna Grant, New York Times and USA Today bestselling author, delivers a dark, sensual tale of fate, power, and a connection that could change everything.

I enjoyed this book. The entire series of Kings are page turners and this one is no different. Zora is the home to displaced dragons. They were sent to Zora for safety but hatred has followed them to their new home. Fedra and Marcus are on opposite sides but love wins out. Such a great story!

Marcus is the Dragon King of the lavender dragons. He is on Zora and working in Iron Hall. Marcus and another dragon king went down a certain hallway and can’t remember anything that happened. Marcus hears a soft whisper and he finally gets through the rubble and finds a woman in a stasis. Fedra watched her people destroyed by the Dragon Kings. She was put in a stasis until the dragons get close. She plans to get revenge on the Kings. Marcus removes her and places her in a room in Iron Hall. When she finally awakes, she can’t see. What no one knows yet is that Fedra messes with people that have magic. Marcus tries to convince her that the Kings would not kill innocent people but she has her mind set and nothing will change it. When it’s finally revealed the truth about Fedra’s world, can she work with the dragons to take down a couple of the Star People?
This was an awesome story. A protective dragon. A woman who interferes with magical people. There is a cliffhanger, well maybe not exactly a cliffhanger but it leaves you wondering. Forced proximity. I voluntarily read and reviewed this for Netgalley. I can’t wait for the next one.
Donna Grant delivers another strong installment in the Dragon Kings series. Dragon Sieged has everything fans have come to love... dragons, ancient magic, danger, and a slow-burning romance wrapped in mystery.
The darker atmosphere pulled me in from the very first page, and I enjoyed watching the mystery unfold. The chemistry between the characters felt natural, and the world-building continues to be one of the strongest aspects of this series. While the pacing slowed in a few places, it never took away from the overall story.
If you've been reading the Dragon Kings series, this is another enjoyable addition that expands an already fantastic world. If you're new to the series, I highly recommend starting with book one so you can fully appreciate everything that has been building to this point.
A solid 4-star read.
After finishing this one, I decided we're bringing the entire Dragon Kings series into Second Chapter Books. If you've been looking for a completed dragon fantasy series to dive into, this is definitely one to add to your TBR.
Having read the previous books in the Dragon Kings series, I was absolutely delighted to receive Dragon Sieged as an ARC. A huge thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to return to this world once again.
Donna Grant has done it once more! Filled with dragons, danger, magic and romance, this latest instalment kept me turning the pages. I loved seeing Fedra and Marcus’s story unfold and, as always, being back with these characters felt like coming home. Fans of the series won’t be disappointed it’s another wonderful addition to an already fantastic world. A solid 4 star read that has me eagerly waiting for what’s next! 🐉✨

Loved reading the mesmerizing and spellbinding paranormal story. When Marcus, a Dragon King, keeps hearing his name being called, he tries to find who or what keeps calling his name, finds a pod, a woman, Fedra, is stuck in stasis, and Marcus tries to free her. Read the highly recommended, wonderfully written full of suspense and intrigue, and another must read riveting romance story by the phenomenal author, Donna Grant. Can't wait to read the next story in the series!
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review. Yet another awesome book by an awesome writer. Love all of her books and I highly recommend her to everyone.

Marcus and Fedra: It starts out looking like this relationship is doomed from the beginning. But something keeps drawing them together. Fedra was "programmed" to hate all Dragon Kings, determined to kill them all. She has a unique ability that may help her do just that. Unfortunately, Marcus is a Dragon King, although Fedra doesn't know that. There's also Severon, an (evil) Star Person who plotted to use Fedra to destroy the dragons. With lots of twists and turns, it's hard to predict just how everything will work out. It ends with a bit of a cliffhanger regarding Severon's next plan and the possibility of another Star Person. Looking forward to learning what happens next in this complex Dragon Kings series.
This was really engaging from start to finish. I would absolutely check out more from this author. I would recommend this one to my followers.

Donna Grant never disappoints when it comes to dragons, and this book was no exception. I loved returning to this world and spending more time with these characters.
The dragons continue to steal every scene they're in, while the action, romance, and emotional moments all blend together seamlessly. The pacing kept me turning pages, and I was constantly eager to see what would happen next.
If you're already a fan of dragon fantasy, this is absolutely worth adding to your reading list.
Listen. I opened this book expecting dragons, danger, magic, and romance.
What I got was EMOTIONAL DAMAGE, SECRETS, TENSION, DRAGONS, and a man who apparently thinks communicating is a personal attack.
SIR. PLEASE. USE YOUR WORDS.
The chemistry between these two? Absolutely illegal. The tension was so thick I’m pretty sure I could have cut it with a sword, a dragon claw, or possibly my Kindle.
And the secrets? BABY. EVERYBODY is hiding something. At this point, I didn’t know who to trust, who to side-eye, or who needed to be locked in a room and forced to have one honest conversation.
The dragons are bringing the power.
The danger is bringing the drama.
The romance is bringing the.
And I am over here mentally screaming, “JUST KISS ALREADY AND THEN TELL EACH OTHER THE TRUTH!”
Donna Grant said, “What if we take ancient magic, powerful dragons, dangerous secrets, forbidden attraction, and emotional chaos…”
And then she said, “Yes. All of it. Put it all in the book.”
And honestly? THANK YOU.
If you like your paranormal romance with powerful dragon shifters, deadly secrets, magic, danger, enemies who are suspiciously attracted to each other, and enough tension to set an entire kingdom ablaze…
ADD. THIS. TO. YOUR. TBR.
Because apparently I came here to read a book and left feeling like I personally survived a dragon war, three emotional breakdowns, and a relationship where communication was clearly the final boss.

DRAGON SIEGED is the eleventh instalment in Donna Grant’s adult DRAGON KINGS paranormal fantasy series, set in the author’s numerous interconnected series. This is lavender Dragon King Marcus, and Fedra’s story line. DRAGON SIEGED can be read as a stand alone but for back story and cohesion, I recommend reading the series in order as there is an ongoing premise throughout.
NOTE: Due to the nature of the story line premise, there may be triggers for more sensitive readers.
SOME BACKGROUND: For tens of thousands of years the Dragons have lived and ruled on Earth but a war between the dragons and humans forced the Dragon Kings to send the other dragons through a portal into an unknown world. Fast forward to present day, the portal has been revealed, and the Dragon Kings have been reunited in Zora, with their family and kin, but a new war is on the horizon between the Dragons, the Divine and the people of Stonemore.
Told from several omniscient third person perspectives including Marcus and Fedra DRAGON SIEGED follows lavender Dragon King Marcus in the days following a voice he hears coming from an underground chamber, a chamber buried by time and space. Upon their discovery, a high-tech pod is unearthed, and a human female is found within but Fedra is no ordinary human, if human at all, and her nearness to the Dragon Kings is a threat to their existence and the dragon race.
The world building is detailed as a new threat has been introduced but from where Fedra originated is another concern. Eons have passed and yet Fedra has one directive, and if successful, the Dragon Kings will be no more.
The relationship between Fedra and Marcus begins as a rescue, of a sorts but Marcus’ draw towards Fedra is notice by the others although his nearness to Fedra could end his life. The lone $ex scene is passionate without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.
There is another ensemble cast of familiar, energetic and powerful secondary and supporting characters, many of whom we met in the previous story lines and throughout the numerous interconnected Dragon Kings/ Dark Kings series. We are reintroduced to Con and Rhi, healer Sian, Brandr, as well as the return of Villette, Lotti, Eurielle and another newcomer, a bigger threat than anyone could have imagined.
DRAGON SIEGED is a story of secrets and lies, betrayal and vengeance, obsession and madness, magic and mayhem, acceptance and family. The character driven premise, once again reveals the history of the Dragon Kings and their clans who now reside on Zora, told through reflection, introspection and emotion. The characters are desperate and determined; the romance is limited but fated.
