Description
A fairy king desires her mortal heart. She’s losing it to his huntsman.
Eveline Forsyth has one wish: to finish her grueling blacksmith apprenticeship and leave behind the mining town that claimed her parents’ lives. But Eveline’s hopes for a better future are shattered when she’s claimed by the Fair Folk—a cruel fae civilization of sylphs, known to murder mortals for sport.
When Eveline attempts to flee her would-be killers, she’s kidnapped from her home and brought before a powerful king of the Fair Realm. But rather than condemn Eveline, the king takes an interest in her—one that only grows as Eveline seeks to escape captivity in his court.
Eveline soon discovers that the Fair Realm is as alluring as it is treacherous. But for every friendship formed—first with the king’s mercurial sister and then with his rakish huntsman, Alder—Eveline uncovers a new dark secret about the Fair Folk’s war-torn lands.
And when Eveline finds herself falling for Alder instead of the king, she’s thrust into a deadly game of court intrigue that could cost not only her own life, but the lives of everyone she’s come to hold dear.
The Fair Realm is no place for a mortal maiden. Good thing this blacksmith knows the deadliest weapons are formed by fire.
