Description
It’s not that Jen hates Christmas. It’s just that she would be quite happy letting December slip by without so much as a flicker of a fairy light.
But when her friends surprise her with a weekend away, fate has other plans… and soon Jen finds herself snowed in in the last place she would ever choose to be – Babblebrook, a sleepy Cotswolds village that takes festive cheer very seriously. Worse still, it’s where her snooty older sister, Julia, lives.
Before long, Jen is swept up in the charm of village life, helping Ted – her long-time best friend and short-time college fling – with preparations for the Christmas Fair. And when she bumps into the handsome stranger she met on the train from London, things seem even brighter...
Then a secret is uncovered that forces Jen to question everything. Is Jen ready to let go of the past and admit that all she wants for Christmas has been in front of her all along?

All I can say is wow! This was like a hallmark Christmas movie in a book! I loved every single part of it and was upset when I was finished
Excuse me studly, bookish, humorous, volunteering to sing to a small child, hunk? We need your name, please. Not me all hot and bothered by an intelligent man referencing classic literature....
This Christmas Rom-Com has equal parts humor and secrets, centering on the importance of community and emotional growth- it's excellent!!
In the tiny town of Babblebrook, Jen mets her college friends to celebrate yet another December birthday. The issue? Her estranged sister lives there, Jen doesn't have a significant other, and she's slightly embarrassed by her lack of career. Feeling less than and constantly on edge, Jen runs into the Train Man and he asks for her phone number! 💃🏻 Slightly hungover the next morning, the group realizes a blizzard is descending and they must get out of town ASAP... Except the trains aren't running and Jen can't return to the city. She's stuck. Can you already guess where she'll have to lodge?
Trying to stay out of the house and make the most of her impromptu vacation, Jen visits and makes new friends, texts and meets up with Train Man, and finds purpose serving those around her. That art show? My nightmare. 🤣 Same, Jen! But that kiss?? Same Jen! 🥰
I loved the drama, character arcs, and slow history reveal. My exact thoughts 50% in "Oh. Not Anthony?", 55% in "HIM?!? What?? Of course!" Y'all! And OH MY HEAVENS THE REVEAL! The drama! The heartbreak! The red flags! Leave, Jen! Leave!!
Before she can, we have the BIG reveal of what has kept Jen pigeonholed for so long- what lead to the big sister riff! Gah 😭💔
Jen is forced to face the past she's been hiding from for years now. A relief for her and readers! Lee lovingly coaches Jen through a healing journey while she tries to save the local Christmas Fair for this sweet town she's grown to love. Can she pull it off last minute or is this one more failure Jen will rack up?
