Description
Baseball player Kyle Sawyer has many labels: bad boy, delinquent, ladies’ man, fearless outfielder... Only one of them is actually true. But then sweet ballet dancer Faith Gladwell asks him to help wreck her reputation, and everything goes sideways.
Faith knows a thing or two about love, and what she had with her cheating jerk of an ex wasn’t it. When he starts spreading rumors about her being an Ice Queen, Faith decides it’s time to let a little bad into her life.
Lucky for her, Kyle Sawyer—dark, dangerous, totally swoonworthy Kyle Sawyer—is landscaping her backyard over Spring Break. Shirtless. And if she can convince him to play along, “ dating” Kyle will silence the rumors.
But Faith’s plan threatens to expose Sawyer’s biggest secret of all...and that’s a risk he’s not willing to take.

I received this book via NetGallery in exchange for my honest review. I really enjoyed this book. It was super cute and the main characters were hard not to love. Faith is a ballerina wanting to save herself for someone she loves. Her current boyfriend is not him and she gets burned by him. Kyle is a baseball playing bad boy, but really he is not. Faith and Kyle come together to show up her ex boyfriend but what neither of them expected was start falling for each other and for Kyle that would mean her finding out all his secrets. I absolutely loved Kyle, he was not your typical main boy character he was so much more. He wanted everyone to see the bad in him but he was so much more then that he was sweet and kind, passionate and scared. He was everything any girl would want. Faith was a really sweet girl that just wanted to right boy and she never thought that would be Kyle. She loved Kyle for who he was an never judged him for the bad reputation that he had, she saw him as so much more. I loved reading about these two, it was so sweet and romantic, I didn't want the book to end. |

This book pulled me in from the very first page and I read it one sitting. Kyle Sawyer has the whole bad boy thing down. Guys stay away from him, girls try to get his attention. Most of all, he wants to be left alone. There are so many rumors flying around about him, it's hard to keep track of them all. What most don't know is that he loves landscaping. When he lands a new job fixing up a backyard, he doesn't expect to see a beautiful girl emerge with an offer he can't refuse. Faith Gladwell has rumors spreading about her that aren't true. She needs to rectify the situation and what better way to do that than with the help of the shirtless guy currently tearing apart her backyard. When Kyle agrees to help her out, she's surprised to find out there's more to this bad boy than meets the eye. Lies, fear, trust, and love all come together in this great read. What will happen with Kyle starts to feel something for Faith? Will she want to know everything about him, or is this truly just a game of revenge? I have a love of YA. I could read the genre every single day. This book does not disappoint. The characters are well developed and the story plays out perfectly. I couldn't help but fall for Kyle and be sympathetic to all he and Faith were going through. Great story! |

faith gladwell is a good girl. she's driven by her passion for theater and dance, and is not quite happy in her relationship with a handsy football player as the bad boy bargain opens. meanwhile kyle sawyer has done everything in his power to cultivate the image of a bad boy. but he's a bad boy with secrets, his biggest one being that he is in no way, shape or form a bad boy--the rumors about him at school are just that. rumors. when faith's handsy boyfriend cheats on her at a party and publicly dumps her and starts spreading rumors about how she is a cold-hearted bitch, she knows she has to do something to take control of the situation. it just so happens that another of kyle's secrets is that he owns a successful gardening and landscaping business and he has been hired by faith's mother to re-do their yard. when faith proposes faking a relationship to change the narrative, kyle agrees in spite of himself. he and cameron have a history, one that informs who the person kyle pretends to be in the present day. as faith and kyle get to know each other a couple of things happen. one, they have crazy chemistry, faith is stunned by how attracted she is to kyle. she had never had any interest in sex with cameron, but with kyle things are different. kyle is just as attracted to faith, except he is actually terrified, because contrary to the relationship rumors he has cultivated at school, he has no relationship history and faith is the first person he's wanted to pursue something with since middle school. two, both faith and kyle struggle with insecurities and trust. this feels so authentic to me. they misinterpret each other's silences and miscommunicate all the time, but it's because they feel too much, too strongly. and it's terrifying to trust your heart in someone else's hands. especially when you've been burned before. when kyle comes through for faith in a really big way, he tears down the pieces of armor that had been helping him cope with school and his insecurities. in the end this is a super sweet young adult romance. i loved faith and kyle and i loved their story. |

The Bad Boy Bargain Kendra C. Highley Book Review: ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ + I absolutely loved this book. It's well written and kept me hooked right from the start. I probably shouldn't have started reading it so close to bedtime because I was struggling to put it down and it was the first thing I reached for when I woke up. It ticks all the right boxes for me and I would definitely recommend it especially if you like your sweet teen romance novels. Kyle Sawyer also known as the local bad boy. His reputation is enough to make the girls swoon and the guys leave him alone. He plays baseball and keeps his private life to himself. Everything you think you know about him may not quite be true but he doesn't care. It's what he wants until Faith. Faith is a ballerina and dating the most popular boy in school but the more she gets to know him the more she realises maybe he isn't the one for her. She needs to be brave and cut him loose. What faith doesn't know is that her boyfriend has already figured her out and is out for revenge. She needs a plan to get back at him and Kyle falls right into her lap. Kyle isn't everything she thought he was and maybe that isn't a bad thing. I loved both of these characters and the twist of events is perfectly crafted. 5 stars + for this little beauty. Thanks Netgalley for the book in exchange for a well deserved glowing review. This book is fairly innocent however does have a mild sexual reference and therefore I'd say it's aimed at the 16+ age group. Expected publication: November 14th 2016 |

I'm a sucker for the revenge/bargain plot line and this one sounded adorable. I loved Faith and Kyle. They're both such good people and I really enjoyed being in their heads. I loved that she was obsessed with his arms and he was obsessed with her legs. Every time it was mentioned, I couldn't stop grinning. Oh, I have to say, Faith's BFF, Violet, stole every scene she was in and I would happily read her story. Bonus points for present and positive parents. Sure, things were a bit predictable, but I was so wrapped up in these characters, I couldn't turn the pages fast enough. I was a bit disappointed at the seemingly abrupt ending, but the epilogue was fairly satisfying. Overall, it was a quick and cute read. I'll definitely be checking out future works from this author. **Huge thanks to Entangled Publishing and NetGalley for providing the arc free of charge** |

I loved Kyle and Faith bantering and flirting, and while we were given both points of view, I am not sure I completely understood Kyle's reasons for living his lie. I loved his relationship with both his father and grandfather, and enjoyed this unusual family dynamic. It lacked females, but it also wasn't dysfunctional. Terrific to see two men raising another fine young man. Faith is sweet, and yet she wants revenge, against the nasty ex-boyfriend, who is ruining her reputation. I do not like these characters in YA, as they usually come across as a trope or stereotype, rather than a fully developed character. The story plays out predictably, and the more we learn about the two leads, the more we cheer them on. There is one intimate scene late in the novel which doesn't quite fit in with the romantic sensibility of the overall novel. It seems too abrupt more than anything, but it is lovely, so maybe I am over-reacting. Overall, this is flirty and romantic. If you like the Entangled Teen brand, you are sure to enjoy this one as well. Copy provided by publisher, via Netgalley, and received with thanks. Released November 14. |

This sweet, adorable romance ticked all the boxes for me. It was a quick, entertaining read that left me with so many good feels. I'll definitely be checking out more of this author's work in future. Faith has been trying to work up the courage to finish with her bf of six months, Cameron, but she's a nice girl and she doesn't want to hurt his feelings. When the cat is out of the bag, Cameron shows no such concern for her when he runs off with another girl straightaway and then starts spreading malicious rumors about her around school. Faith needs to put a stop to it and the solution magically appears in her backyard. Kyle has lived behind his manufactured rep for years and the strain of keeping up a facade is really getting to him. When Faith enters his world, for the very first time he's forced to confront the reality of his situation and he doesn't like the corner he's boxed himself into. As he grows closer to Faith, he begins to question everything about himself and the path he has chosen. Faith starts to fall for the sweet boy who is nothing like she expected. She quickly realizes something is amiss but it takes a bit of toing and froing before Kyle can summon up the courage to tell her who he really is. Gosh, I just loved this story in its entirety! Not only is it an entertaining well-written story with great characters and the appropriate amount of emotional depth but it is packed full of so many positive messages for teens. I loved how the author explored teen identity vs societal perception and how powerful the message was about being true to yourself. I also really adored Kyle's personality and how thoughtful he was when it came to winning Faith's heart. He was so respectful of her and he took the time to get to know her and find out the things she liked and took a real genuine interest in same. Not because he wanted to get her into bed but because he truly liked her and wanted to understand and support her. It was a different take on the hot bad-boy type and I really found that refreshing. The writing is great and the pacing is perfect. I genuinely can't find any fault with this book. I loved it so much I'm planning on purchasing a paperback copy for my 16-year-old son because I think it will be a great read for him.
