Before you start reading this book, please make sure you have several hours to spare because you will not want to put it down until you get to the end. Don't assume anything, just keep reading because the end will make you say OMG! This book is amazing and it will be a bestsellers.

So many fantastic twists and turns in this one. I never saw the direction that any of the twists were going in and yet, they all fit perfectly. Highly recommend when this pubs in Jan 2018. The best I can advise on this is to go in as blind as you can and really just enjoy the ride!

Absolutely diabolical in its gripping, enthralling twists and turns! Just when your mind relaxes and you feel as though all the plot points are in order, twist! It's as if the authors had a party and shouted, Plot Twist! randomly at each other while writing. A classic page turner chronicling abuse, deceit, and well-orchestrated plots. Readers will love this more than any psychological thriller they've read in quite some time.

Wow. So many assumptions! And most of them are false! Alternating between Vanessa and Nellie, we see a marriage gone wrong and a woman attempting to prevent the newest woman from marrying her ex. But there are many secrets to be unlocked and a past to be uncovered. What are the real motives and who is at fault? This is a roller-coaster ride of thrills and you will be surprised at the end as well! Great thriller!

This book is going to be one of the BEST books of 2018! I can feel it in my bones. It's dark, gripping, intense, and filled with unexpected twists and turns that you won't see coming!

The Wife Between Us surprised me. To be honest, I thought it would be yet another book about a jilted wife, yet it was so much more. The suspenseful plot builds right up to the last page, with wonderful twists and turns. I highly recommend.

I must start off by saying that I am very stingy when it comes to giving books 5 stars, but this one REALLY deserved it.

This is one of the best books that I have read this year. I actually don't quite know how to write this review without giving anything away. It was initially a slow-burner but picked up pace afterward. Lol, it REALLY picked up and so many times I actually had to go back and read something as I could not believe what had happened and I was utterly shocked. It had me enthralled from the first page and I read it within a day. I could not wait to see what happened next.

My advice is, go in blind, do not read too many reviews. I've had too many books spoilt by reviews that gave away too much. You will totally be entertained. Oh yes, free your schedule because you will not be able to put it down!

It is very rare that when I finish reading a book, I go back to the beginning to re-read it. I had to go back to understand how the masterful writing had me so twisted. This book, from page one until the very end, kept me off-balance and guessing. From the clever dialogue to the engaging characters and intertwined stories, this page-turner kept me reading long into the night. My recommendation in three words: Read this book!!

Wow... this was just a fantastic read! I loved the story and way that it had me completely sucked in right from the beginning. The things I thought I knew kept changing as the authors slowly revealed new details in the most thoughtful manner. In a story about marriage and identity, the authors use creative ways to keep the reader guessing about why things have developed the way they have. This is one of those books it is hard to review without giving away a lot of important information to the plot, I just know that I highly recommend it if you are looking for a psychological thriller. It’s a story as old as time. Good looking, suave husband dumps current wife for a newer model. Ex-wife slips into self medicating with booze and begins to stalk hubby’s new girlfriend. We know this story…..or do we? This is one of the most twisted, confounding, surprising stories I’ve ever read. Without giving away plot twists, there’s not much more I can say, except her your hands on this book. Everyone will be talking about it

This was a great story. The storyline was unlike anything I have ever read before and I was captivated from the very beginning until the very end. This story had so many twists and turns, along with deceit, lies, betrayal, hurt, revenge and everyone played a part in this game and they played it so well. I didn't know what to believe; who was telling the truth and who was lying. There were moments where I was thinking all of the characters were crazy. The ending was completely unexpected but when it came to the end, all of the puzzle pieces fit together and it was unbelievable. This is the first book I've read from this author and I would definitely read more. I think this book would be perfect for readers who enjoy a good mystery book, and/or have enjoyed books like Gone Girl.

I don't often give 5 stars. But this book was just that good. Very hard to put down. Great, believable characters, subtle plot twists that packed a punch. I rooted for all the women in this novel. Do yourselves a favour and buy this book.

Excellent story...the lives of four woman are entwined in ways that seem random, but are the result of machinations by one or more of them. What is real and what isn't? It's hard to figure out the villain in this intricately woven story of love, lies and deceit. Lots of surprises move the story along.

The main character seems to have lost her husband to another woman. But that is not entirely the case. I have never read a book with more twists and turns that can't be anticipated even a little bit. I was enthralled through the entire book. Even the ending had a huge surprise. I can't recommend this book enough.

I couldn't put this one down. The chapters rotate between a new bride whose dreams are coming true and the ex wife who can't quite move on with her life. Just when you think you know what's going on, you discover that you have no idea. The story flows smoothly from front to end and the mysteries are slowly revealed as you go through the pages. Greer Hendricks knows how to get your attention and keep it. I look forward to reading more books by this author.

I really loved this book! I read it in the wee hours of the night until my eyes drooped shut. I am looking forward to more books from these ladies. I understand that Pekkanen normally writes in more of the “chick lit” genre and I think that is part of what makes this book so readable! The writing made this feel like a quick and light read, but the suspense had me sitting on the edge of my seat – what exactly is going on here? You’ll think you know and then you will be tossed into a completely different direction. A couple of times. It’s hard for me to write a lengthy review because I don’t want to give too much away…

Really, the synopsis tells us to “assume nothing,” referring to the twists in the plot, but that is actually one of the themes of the book as well. We see relationships and circumstances from the outside and we make our assumptions when we really have no clue what is going on underneath.

Aside from the great writing I also appreciated the psychological aspects of the story – with her mom having psychological issues that gave her even more reason to doubt herself – and the main character who I found to be very likeable. Sometimes in stories of suspense the main character can be annoying or kind of a bad person, but this antagonist was easy to root for, especially as the story went on.

I’d recommend this book for those who liked Behind Closed Doors and The Girl on the Train. Though it’s maybe not quite as dark.

A riveting read with twists that you do not see coming as you read this. Nellie is a beautiful young woman who is sought after by Richard, a wealthy businessman who wines and dines her. Nellie is overcome by the goodness of this man who wants to protect her nurture her with the all the love he feels for her, she feels like the luckiest woman alive, but....... without giving away too much of the details of this rollercoaster ride of a read this was a read that takes you in one direction and just when you think you know where it's going it turns
another way. I plowed through this one in a few days because I just had to find out where it lead to.

At last, a book that kept me reading until the very end wondering how it would end. Just when you think you know it all, a surprise comes along to make you say that you never saw that coming. Loved it!

There were a few times I felt Vanessa should get her act together, but then I have never walked in the shoes of those she might represent so I tossed away the "really?" thoughts and just went with the story. So glad I did as I really enjoyed this book.

Vanessa's marriage might be over, but is that a good or bad things? Richard might be sweet and caring, but is that a good thing? Emma, the "other woman" is not what she appears to be either which means you spend a bit of timing wondering, huh?

You might think this is about a young woman who is engaged to the “perfect” man. You might think it is about a vengeful ex-wife. You might think it’s about a wonderful, caring man that is recovering from a miserable marriage. This book is actually about that and more. This book will keep you guessing until the very end. It’s engaging and twisted. The characters are very well developed. It will definitely keep you up all night trying to figure out what you think you know opposed to what’s really going on. I highly recommend this book!!!

The title of this book would lead you to believe that you'll be reading about a woman who is obsessed with her ex husband and the new woman who has become her replacement. You would only be partially right. As the synopsis says, ' assume nothing'! You'll think you have things figured out and then there will be a twist that changes everything you thought you knew. This is a very well crafted story which will keep you engaged until the very last page.

Wow. What a crazy, sad, thrill ride of a book! From the book description, it sounded like the typical jilted ex-wife jealous of the new and younger girlfriend. But once you start reading, it becomes an entirely different concept and much separate from the typical ex-wife of a cheating husband storyline.

At first I was led to believe that the story was from two separate perspectives - the ex-wife and the new fiancee. But as the story progresses it becomes something entirely different. I was a bit confused at first because it seemed like I was reading two different viewpoints and the author was incredibly ingenious to lead the reader to think that way. As the story of the main heroine, Vanessa or Nellie, unfolds, there are incidents where you wonder if it was all in her head or if there was something wrong with her. Once again, the author cleverly wrote it to lead the reader to think that way. But then, as the layers begin to peel away, those incidents in the book becomes clearer and you realize that the main character wasn't crazy or messed up after all.

In the Wife Between Us, love was so twisted and so abused. I don't think one single person in the story even knew what true love was, except for the relationship between Nellie and her aunt - their love was real and honest and I think that was what kept Nellie sane throughout all the craziness of her life as a wife and then trying to piece together all the missing parts of her marriage.

I won't give any spoilers in my review, but I thought the book was very well-written. At some points there were bits of confusion, but then as the book delves further into the story, the mangled parts became clearer and then I was at the "ah-ha!" moment when everything was explained at the end.

Although the ending was satisfactory, there was still the character of the husband's sister - what was her motive? Was she just as unbalanced as her brother was?

There are many elements of abuse in this book - emotional and physical. I could really feel Nellie's painful descriptions and the pitfalls of her wondering if she was going crazy. The author pinpointed how abuse can usually be. Sometimes one doesn't truly see it until a turning point in their lives and then they feel the fear of someone else being abused just the same. There wasn't anything too graphic to read about the physical abuse but for those who have suffered through some type of abuse in their past, certain parts could be quite painful.

I would definitely recommend this book to someone who loves a good detailed and twisted thriller. Prepare to keep reading until you stop to the very end because the writing is so engaging and deceptive that you'll want to know just what is going on.

Every time I got a notion in my mind as to what was going on a simple sentence would turn things on me and I would have to question what I knew about the characters or what I had just read. The twists just keep on coming.

I enjoyed this book. Although, it was confusing. I switched back and forth betwwen Vanessa and Emma. Vanessa is married to Richard who is very controlling. Vanessa can't just leave Richard because he would find and punish her. She must cook up a scheme to make him want her out of his life. Richard begins an affair with his secretary, Emma. But, then Vanessa has a bit of conscience and tries to make Emma understand what kind of man Richard is. It all backfires and in the end it is all explained why. And the biggest surprise is in the prologue. But don't read it first, as I did. It will not be clear.

Vanessa's marriage has only recently fallen apart, her husband now engaged to his assistant, "my replacement," and she can't seem to let go of the past. In several calculated, daring moves, Vanessa risks everything when she tries to break apart her husband and her replacement.

I cannot even begin to explain how much I loved this book. It is by far the best thriller I've read in 2017 (or ever), and without a doubt, I believe this will be the next thriller-turned-movie we see in Hollywood. The authors did a fantastic job executing the twists and turns that keep you guessing until the very end. Their writing is smart, captivating, and alluring--three aspects every reader looks for in a good psychological thriller. The main character, Vanessa, displays shudderingly accurate depictions of a woman on the brink of disaster and sabotage.

I highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a good story!

WOW. What a book. Absolutely gripping. I can see this one soaring to the top of the charts for sure. I was just before half way through it and I literally had to put my kindle down to stare out of window to digest and make sense of what I had just read. Highly recommended !

I read The Wife Between Us in three days. In a perfect, perfect world, I would have finished in just one. If I'd ignored eating, sleeping, and other people. (I'm much too fond of all the above these days.) Yet I want to stress that this is a compelling read.

To those seeking a thriller, a plot-driven thriller with twists and turns, I can honestly say that The Wife Between Us satisfies. Readers meet a woman--an emotionally distraught woman--and follow her through the darkness, into the darkness, and perhaps out of the darkness too. (Or I could be trying to trick you.) Through this woman's story readers get to know Richard and "the replacement." (One woman is getting replaced by another. One woman has been cast aside. Another has been chosen as the perfect wife.) It's all about the suspense and drama. Who wronged who. Who's telling the truth. Who's lying. Is it a matter of life and death? To those seeking a character-driven novel that is complex and thought-provoking, The Wife Between Us more than satisfies. I can honestly say that to me more than anything it's the CHARACTERS that stand out as unforgettable. It's a rare read because it's both.

I loved the characterization. I loved that the characters lived. I loved the brokenness and vulnerability. I loved the fragility of everything. I loved the writing. There was never a place you "wanted" to stop reading. Because the moment you read the opening sentence of the next chapter, you needed to keep going.

I loved that it would pair so well with many classics I've read and loved in the past. Jane Eyre. Rebecca. To name just two.

I think this could easily be a great movie. But would a movie trailer spoil it all?! Probably.

With that in mind, she moves to New York. She meets a young woman, Samantha, and they become inseparable roommates. Nellie teaches pre-k children and loves it! She also has a job working with Sam at Gibson's as a waitress. Things seem to be working out for her in her new life. Then she meets the most handsome, charismatic man, Richard Thompson, and her world is turned totally upside down. Richard courts her for a while and shows her all of the things that she has never experienced. He takes her to operas, teaches her about fine wines and food, and is always surprising her with little getaways and flowers. Now she's engaged to this wonderful Prince Charming. What could possibly go wrong? The get married in Florida, so her mother and aunt can attend the wedding. Richard operates a very successful hedge fund company and travels all the time. Nellie is left alone quite a bit. Seems her whole world revolves totally and completely around Richard and their huge beautiful home. She becomes isolated from her family and friends. She becomes depressed, and there are those horrible phone calls with the breathing on the other end. What is she to do? Her husband is always there to protect her from whatever issues she's having, but something just doesn't seem right. He seems to be working more late hours and sometimes staying at the New York apartment he keeps, while he's in the city. Is Richard having an affair? She has to find out. If so, with whom? How had her marriage fallen apart like it has? Why is Richard so secretive? This book kept me reading into the pre-dawn hours. I didn't want to put it down. If you like psychological thrillers, stalking, intrigue, and who done it, this book is definitely for you. I was shocked so many times throughout this book. It's never as it seems. The plot was magnificent. And the character development was superb and complex. The reader could relate to all of the characters and the emotions that they were experiencing. The ending shocked me as well. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and cannot wait to read more from this author!!

No spoilers here, this book should be enjoyed without much knowledge of what to expect. Exceptional writing from these two authors propels the drama in this book, "The Wife Between Us". I highly recommend it to anyone who likes clever and twisty story lines. Be prepared to learn that what you think you know about Nellie and Vanessa and Richard, the main characters, may not be even minutely close to the truth about them. I loved the build up in the suspense--the authors painstakingly create an original and satisfyingly meaty meal of a book. So many details the writers give you that you don't know what to do with them.. at the same time you can feel the wheels turning in your brain--trying to figure--what the hell is going on here.

This book was everything I expected, everything I didn't expect, and everything more. It was a thrilling, suspenseful, binge read I couldn't put down.

I don't often get surprised by the twists and turns of a thriller. This one was the exception. Great plot, well told tale. While I felt confused through much of the book, the pieces finally fell in place at the 96% mark. Stay until the end on this one. You will not be disappointed.

This book was extremely good. Right up to the end of the book there are plot twists and information to digest. All so seamlessly done it is incredible. Psychological thriller with more complex personalities than I have experienced in a while. I will read anything this talented author writes.

The Wife Between Us is a must read!!! The twists in the plot always surprised me. When I thought I knew what was going on, another major twist. Even at the very end of the book another twist totally changed the story. This book comes with my highest recommendation.

Having never read anything by the authors before, I had absolutely no expectations when starting this book, except for an enjoyable few hours. I got that and more! This book took so many twists and turns and double around a that my head was spinning in delight as I strived to keep up with the pace. To say that I devoured this book would be inaccurate. I feasted on it not just while reading it but as it replayed in my head for a few days afterward. Kudos to the authors for creating an excellent book where nothing seems right but it all seems so very real.

As soon as I read the description for this novel I knew it was right for me. It grabbed me on the first page and after many twists and turns it still had my attention until the last page.

I stopped and said "wait, what just happened?" so many times while reading this. Fantastic work.

A twisty, unexpected, shocking, memorable tale that will leave you wondering what you just read. Two women. One is older, one is younger. One marriage is over, the other is about to start. Just when you begin to understand each woman's story and you say, “I’ve got this” and you start to predict what happens next… bam! Surprise! Details are uncovered that leave you feeling ambushed and flabbergasted. This book does an excellent job at illustrating the importance of perspective, and how different stories can arise with each individual person’s view on events. Each individual may experience the same situation differently depending on how they interpret it. This book definitely fits into the psychological suspense genre, because it emphasizes the unstable psychological states of its characters. I really enjoyed this book. It drew me in right away and then when I got comfortable with its direction, the authors dropped bombs that had me confused. This book was like a puzzle for me and I wanted to figure out how the pieces fit together. I stopped and said "WAIT, what just happened?" so many times while reading this. I thought that I was following the story carefully and understanding the plot. I thought that this was the typical spurned ex-wife story and naïve trophy second wife story. But it is not. It definitely had me guessing until the end. I predict that readers will want to circle back and reread this book once they understand the real perspectives. I definitely plan to do this.

First word that came to mind once finished was Wow!! This book was not what I thought it would be and many times things were not what I expected to happen. I have to admit that the beginning of the book was a little slow for me. The first 2 characters had me confused as to who was who, I actually thought at one point that maybe they were one in the same. Which then led me in the wrong direction of where the story was going. Once I was back on track in my own mind and with the story I could not put it down! The twists and turns kept me guessing and definitely had me wanting to find out what was going to happen next. The main character at first was just a sad shell of a woman that she once was...her memories drowning her. By the end she became a strong and brave woman with her voice back! Great read!

This book was mind blowing. What starts out as a "typical" love triangle--- Jilted wife, new lover, and the man who brings them together twists and turns to be anything but typical. Who is Vanessa? Who is Nellie? Who is Emma? And why is the man so desirable?

You can’ judge a book by its cover nor make assumptions about a person by what they project on the outside. The book’s blurb says “assume nothing” and that is good advice because THE WIFE BETWEEN US is an ingenious tale where no one is who they appear to be and everyone is engaged in mind games and manipulation.

Certain details are omitted in this complex tapestry and not brought to light until the half way point in the narrative. While it can be a bleak read at times, each character in the diverse cast is presented with intriguing depth without distracting from the action thus leaving readers wanting more from authors Greer Hendricks and Sarah Pekkanen.

Impressively intriguing best describes this tale of love, marriage, divorce - - actions and reactions as it follows the emotions and experiences of its narrator who may or may not be telling the truth. There is true genius present in this “not so straight-forward” tale by authors who have created the gold standard in solid suspense.
