Although not a fan of magic and the like I was really attracted by the story behind the curse.
In this book the stage is set for the mystery of who killed the senator's wife if it was not Carlo Mustov who has been accused as a gypsy and was a convenient scapegoat. Wyatt is the son of the detective who did the research into the crime and is thus cursed by the words 'justice is blind' and is unable to see. I loved the way this changed during the book.
I thoroughly enjoyed the novel and this series.
I received the book from Netgalley and the publisher. This is my voluntary review.

The first installment in the Gypsy Magic Serial is Wyatt by Rebecca York. It is an intriguing start to the serial, hooking you in so you want to read them all. After reading this one I purchased the other two even though they are by different authors. Each book concerns different characters but have the overall theme of finding a killer. Each of the main characters have a curse on them but it does not stop them from getting the job done.

Part one is Wyatt Boudreaux’s story. The action and romance quickly build since it is novella in size. It was an engrossing reading that can easily be read in one evening. It has Rebecca York’s fine style of writing that develops the characters, flaws and all to the reader while insuring that they are likable just the same. Wyatt and Alessandra do get their HEA but the killer is not caught.

One of the best parts of this serial is all three stories were released at the same time for a nominal cost. No need to wait to read the next installment, I liked that a lot. How long that will last, I can’t say but the $.99 that I paid for each to find out who is the guilty party while enjoying Garner Rousseau, and Andrei Sobatka’s stories is well worth the price.

Wyatt is investigating the truth about a murder and reconnects with Alessandra who thinks his family is at fault. This is part of a series being the first with gypsy curses and the story winds throughout the 3 books to an ending. Enjoyed the setting and mystery along with the characters.

Ebook from Net Galley and publishers with thanks. Opinions are entirely my own.

I love the authors Decorah series so I was intrigued to read this story.

When the son of a Gypsy has been found guilty of a crime she does not believe he committed, she curses the sons of those involved.

Fast forward a few years and Wyatt, son of the lead detective, has had to leave the police force after being blinded after being shot in the head. He is carrying out his gathers last wish to make sure that the conviction is solid and the execution of Carlo can proceed. This is further complicated by his short romance with Alessandra, cousin of Carlo. It ended badly when she discovered who he was.

But when Wyatt and then Alessandra are targeted by a mysterious attacker they work together to unearth evidence that may just absolve Carlo.

Whilst this doesn't have a HEA, it does end with a happy for now. As the other stories in the trilogy unfold I believe that each couple's HEA will unfold. I did enjoy Wyatt's story and it was a different read. I would definitely read the others in the trilogy.

I’ll be blunt upfront. I’m not a huge fan of serials, I do not like cliffhangers. Hey, every reader has their own enjoyment levels. Yet, recently there have been more of a different style of serial on the market. Ones that end with a “happy for now” with an overarching thread that runs throughout all of the stories within the serial. That type I can enjoy. I need somewhat of an ending, at least to each part of a serial – and in the Gypsy Magic serial I’ve gotten that. To get the entire scope of the story, as well as all the answers I’ll need to read all three parts. That I can do, that’s more similar to a series and I’ve already admitted my series addiction. So here we go:

One mystery, a gypsy’s curse, three men who will face her wrath and the three women who will stand by their men as they search for answers to a murder. The true answers, not what everyone believes.

Wyatt and Alessandra’s romance is intense with a few surprises tossed in as they face each other once again. The past wasn’t so far away that their reaction to each other was completely wiped out. But stubborn people are well too stubborn for their own good.

Wyatt gets Gypsy Magic off to a great start. Magic, murder, mystery and passion. Quite the explosive combination, but I’ve come to expect the unexpected from Rebecca York. Each story has it’s own happy for now ending and leads us into the next – which I’m about to go pick up now. If you enjoy a good mystery with touches of the unusual, then Wyatt is right up your dark alley.

*I received an e-ARC of this novel from the publisher via NetGalley. That does not change what I think of this story. It is my choice to leave a review giving my personal opinion about this book.*

Wyatt is book 1 of the Gypsy Magic series by authors Rebecca York, Ann Voss Peterson & Patricia Rosemoor. I really enjoyed this book, the concept of the storyline was well conveyed and I loved the characters. I look forward to reading the next two books in this series.
