So, this book got a five star rating because it was damn phenomenal.
Just the synopsis by itself made me want to read the book asap and don't make me talk about the book cover because holy lord I love it so darn much.
Now into the story!

I was totally pleased with the whole plot and how things progressed. We didn't get an obvious plot because information wasn't just given to us right at the beginning. You had to read the book so you could discover things at its own pace.
There was obvious attraction between Abigail and Jayden but what made me want to see how the story developed was the fact that they eventually created a friendship between them and further into the story a love relationship. Although it was hard for Jayden and Abigail to talk about their past they ended up trusting each other with what they consider their darkest moments and made them easier to live with.

I LOVED Anya Omah's writing and that for me is quite important so I can enjoy the book fully. Her writing just makes you dive into the book and makes you thirsty for more and more. I just couldn't put the book down. It took me a day to read it and I was damn happy with it.

Please read this book because you'll laugh, smile, fan yourself because it'll get hot but most important... you'll get attached to the characters.

Certainly an original plot. Good overall writing and storytelling.

Have you heard of Sexsomnia? I haven't before this book but man it is a fascinating disorder. I am super in psychology so when I saw this unique title I was beyond curious. For those who don't know and haven't looked it up yet, Sexsomnia is a sleeping disorder where a person will engage in sexual activities while asleep. Seriously, this is a real thing and not just made up for the sake of something to write about.

Abigail has sexsomnia and like most disorders, it has greatly changed her life, especially her relationship with men. Because of a traumatic experience, Abigail can't trust herself while asleep. She hasn't had a real relationship in years and is working through a lot and certainly doesn't expect to fall for the rich and oh so arrogant, Jayden King. Jayden is probably one of the most arrogant and self-confident men I have ever read and I totally love him! Don't get me wrong, he was hard to handle at the beginning but seeing how much he cares about Abigail and his sister speaks a lot about his true character.

Abigail and Jayden are both working on opening up to someone. Learning to trust another person to share their past traumas and pains. This book was able to be sexy and endearing at the same time. I really love these characters and see them grow. Both of the main characters have sisters, Alice and Jess who needs their own books because they are just awesome! I thoroughly enjoyed this book and I hope to read more from Anya Omah in the future.

Wow! I chose this book because the cover and the title drew me, and then I thought the blurb sounded great. I've gotta say that this author was a great find!

“I often have people figured out after one sentence. Especially women – I can read them like open books. Abigail Davis, on the other hand, is a mystery to me. Totally different.”

Abigail Davis needs a job. On the morning of the interview for a very plum job, a series of mishaps has her turning up flustered and inappropriately dressed. When she encounters her prospective future boss in the lift, a few choice words between them has her storming off, determined not to bother with the job after all. She couldn’t work for such an insufferable jackass, even if he is sex on legs.

“You’re unpredictable, confident…” I continue, and then suddenly I realize that, more than anything, she’s a woman I could fall in love with.”

Jayden King is pretty jaded. He drowns the guilt and pain he carries around with alcohol, sex, work, and workouts. He barely sleeps. No one and nothing really distracts him from the endless treadmill he’s on. However, he is used to getting what he wants and Abigail Davis is what he wants – in his office and in his bed. He finds her sassiness and irreverent attitude towards him a breath of fresh air. She intrigues him, amuses him, frustrates him, and turns him the hell on. She affects him enough that he’s just about willing to do anything to have her.

Abigail suffers with a sleeping disorder – one that has affected her wellbeing and her love life. She’s taking drastic measures to understand her condition and appease her troubled mind. When Jayden has her vetted, he turns up this surprising and unusual fact about her, which leads him to make a somewhat unethical decision that could cost their budding relationship.

This was a FAB read! There was fantastic, hot chemistry between Jayden and Abby. They were strong characters with clear personalities. I loved how Abby kept Jayden on his toes with her strong will and her unpredictability. It was wonderful to watch him captivated by her, and how she made him feel alive, rather than just existing.

The subject matter was interesting. I’ve never heard of it and just thought that the book title was a clever title. LOL. The plot was great and I really enjoyed how the author incorporated Abby’s condition into.

I found this book pretty compelling and really sexy, with excellent dialogue between the two main characters. It was just my cup of tea!

I have never heard of this author before and I also had no clue what Sexsomnia was so going into this book I was blind and OMG this story was beyond wonderful. I want to read more by tis author but when I googled her, it looks like she writes in German, but really this book was probably one of the best books I have read this year.

The story is pretty fun, it stars Abigail who is just graduating grad school and got incredible grades but she is hiding her body behind baggy clothes and its been many years since she had sex. Plus she lives with her sister and sleeps in a closet because she can't sleep in the same room as someone else.

The story starts when Abi heads to a job interview for Jayden King, they meet in the elevator where he insults her and she tells him where to put his job. Jay is bored. He is beyond bored and while Abi was dressed terribly she was not boring and so he decides to hire her. But well Abi tells him, he has to be interviewd by her first to see if he is someone she WANTS to work for. What results is a love/hate/friend/douch kind of relationship and like Jayden I was not bored either. This book was fun, interesting and I loved every second of it.

Now lets discuss the sleep disorder which plays a big part in the story, Sexsominia. Did the story need this partof the story NO!! If this was a story about Jay and Abi and their relationship it would have been wonderful but what Jay does because Abi is in therapy and taking part in a sleep stufy well made this book just incredible. It opens up the discussion of what would you do? and was just wow.

This book was increibly well written and I loved the entire story and all the characters. I loved Jay and Abi together, they are a couple I will not soon forget.

The book’s gorgeous cover and title first caught my eye but when I read the synopsis I knew this was a story that would be just that little bit different.

Yes, this story is about an uber wealthy businessman but having felt slightly jaded with the genre to date, I found this storyline pleasantly refreshing. It helped that the author knows how to write extremely well and to tell a good story. I read the reviews, well the ratings, for the German version of the book, which was released prior to the English version, and the story was definitely a hit in Germany so I felt confident in giving this book a read and quickly moved it to the front of my TBR list.

The story centres around two main characters: Jayden King (aka the businessman) and Abigail Davis, Jayden’s soon-to-be employee. Despite Jayden making a less than spectacular impression on Abigail, when meeting her on her way to a job interview with him, he sees something in this determined young woman that intrigues him and despite initially sending her running in the opposite direction, he sets about getting her to accept him and his proposal. When attempts to reschedule her interview with him fail, Jayden resorts to other tactics to entice her to meet with him. With Abigail’s feisty personality, Jayden finds her reluctance to bow down to him refreshing and he finds the challenge that she throws in his direction more enamouring than irritating.

Abigail is the character with the condition to which the book’s title refers. Living with painful memories connected to her condition, she finds it hard to trust but with her sister gently nudging her along she starts to open up to Jayden and after accepting his job offer, develops an easy working relationship with him, despite his flirtatious personality. Jayden is also not without his fair share of pain but together they learn to trust and to appreciate that their past lives should not hold them back from a happy future.

There is a twist or two in this story and a couple of unexpected events for Abigail all of which add drama to what is essentially a nice romance story. I would definitely recommend this book to others as I feel that more readers should really appreciate the penmanship and storytelling abilities of this little-known author.

For now, I’d like to hope that a story about Jayden’s sister will follow especially as she is an interesting female powerhouse of a character in a male-dominated business world.

The title alone was enough to intrigue me...

Yeah, I had to take a chance on an author I'd never heard of. The title and cover were just too intriguing to pass up. And yes, I did Google Sexsomnia to see if it was an actual sleep disorder, or just something the author came up with. And I discovered it's real. Now I'm even more intrigued, right? Well, let me tell you. I'm so glad I was. I found a new author to stalk...I mean follow (wink).

Having already read the synopsis, I was aware of Abigail's issue from the beginning. My curiosity almost killed me as I waited to learn the details about her condition. I didn't expect to enjoy her character so much, but she won me over almost immediately. Actually, her first contact with the almighty Jayden King resulted in my 'girl crush' This girl who was suffering, broken, struggling to survive and get back up after a devastating event blew my mind... and his. She didn't back down when he was a jerk. She didn't crumble under his cruelty. She didn't bow and scrape to be given a chance at the job she was there to interview for. Nope, she stood up to him and served it right back. I was mentally cheering her on while at the same time thinking to myself what a different approach to making a first impression on a prospective boss. At the same time I was giggle-snorting and thinking, "Don't try this, it only works in fiction."

Jayden was sex in a suit. He was used to women flocking to him and having to fight them off. So much so that he was bored with the process. He was tired of them telling him what they thought he wanted to hear and being so obvious that it took the fun out of the experience. He wanted a challenge and since they weren't providing it, he concentrated on his work, needing the mental stimulation to distract himself. What he needed to be distracted from is something you'll have to learn for yourself. No reason for you to be deprived of the frustration I suffered while waiting to have that little question answered. It's part of the journey that you don't want to miss.

Abigail lives with her older sister, who is also her best friend. She's the one that always tries to talk her off the ledge, but seldom succeeds. She is is also the one that is there to pick up the pieces when Abby falls apart. When she finds out that Abby told Jayden what he could do with the job that she was there to interview for she sighed with frustration, and acceptance. Knowing that her job as the voice of reason would never be finished. While she was very proud of her sister, she was very aware of Abigail's tendency to speak first and think later. She was concerned for her sister, but at the same time found her sass and confidence to be one of the things she loved most about Abby. So, she laughed, and then she tried to convince her to give it another go.

Jayden was not used to being turned down. Actually, he doesn't remember it ever happening before. Being the successful business man that he was, he found that unacceptable and determined to win her over. Now, out of all the hundreds of applicants for the job, of which he didn't know any of their names, all he could think of was Abigail Davis. But the big question was, which did he want more? Ms. Davis in his office or in his bed? Or maybe... both?

Let me tell you, this story is H-O-T! and it's sad, and it's suspenseful. It kept me totally invested and flipping pages all night long. I couldn't stop reading once I started. I needed answers, and I needed more office sex. I needed more bossy alpha caveman behavior that provoked feisty witty comebacks that resulted in passionate explosions of the best kind. And now that I've turned the last page, I need more Anya Omah in my life. I want more! The line forms here...

This was an interesting book. Both main characters overcame traumatic challenges as the story developed. Their romance was far from conventional but kept me engaged.

What an interesting read!! I liked Abigail from the very first page- she was such a dynamic character. And of course Jayden was just the perfect ideal of an alpha male. I loved how Abigail put him in his place straight off.

The subject matter was intriguing & the author did such a good job of telling a fascinating story with a difficult topic.

I look forward to reading more by Anya Omah.

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

I really enjoyed this book, but I agree with the reviewer who said for some reason it wasn't quite a 5-star book, It's a good solid 4.5 though.

The plot and storytelling are definitely fresh and imaginative. That's so hard to find in this genre sometimes, so major kudos to the author for that. I will definitely look for more of her work to enjoy in the future.

Jayden and Abigail are interesting people, and I liked spending time with them. I think my hesitation to give a full 5 stars though is due to their personalities in a way. They were both just a little too over the top for me. I loved Abigail's unpredictability, and I loved Jayden's loyalty, but their adherence to their troubles got a teensy bit annoying. At least they both managed to come around.

All in all, I highly recommend this book to anyone who wants a book that is both fun and interesting to read. You can't go wrong with this one.

My Review of Sexsomnia - Sleepless in Manhattan
by Anya Omah
My Rating 4.5 Stars
Wow, who would have thought that Sexsomnia was a real thing. But after I read this incredible unique book I had to check it out, and Yep it’s real!
What can I say I really enjoyed the storyline of this book and it kept me captivated page after page. I haven’t read this author before but will keep my eyes open for more from her, as the writing was very well done the plot never weakened. The characters were appealing and felt real and the movie played in my head as I read each page of Jayden and Abigail, even though there were a couple times if I had been Abigail I would have throttled this man. This was a very sexy, fun read. The Cover was just as unique as the story but I’m a new fan of Ms. Omah!

Sexsomnia by Anya Omah was a well written, original, sexy office romance. Jayden and Abigail are a great couple. Their chemistry is off the charts, and the story leads up to many steamy scenes.

Loved the way the author made Abigail so strong, capable, witty, and vulnerable at the same time. She stood up to Jayden and didn't fawn all over him. Their one on one conversations were hilarious!

Jayden started out as the typical rich, arrogant, decadent, and damaged alpha H. Was great to see how his relationship with Abigail really changed him.

This was not a typical cookie cutter type story. Kudos to this talented author for coming up with something so fresh and entertaining. Even the villian is dealt with in a satisfying way.
A great romantic page turner!!!

No cheating, no cliffys, a great story, great pacing, and a satisfying HEA!

I received an ARC via NetGalley for a voluntary and honest review.

**I received a copy of Sexsomnia from Net Galley in exchange for a voluntary and honest review**

Sexsomnia by Anya Omah is the first book that I've read by this author and I have to say that it was interesting as this is a real condition. I'd give it a solid 4 stars I really loved the heroine but the hero, I wish he had been more honest. But in the end he redeemed himself when it came time to serve a big healing amount of justice and whoop a*_* and fix what the court system would not for Abby.

Abigail Davis seems to always run late whenever she goes somewhere but when things go bad before her interview and she arrives in non professional clothes a bit late. But when she meets the owner of the company and they verbally spar little does she know that Jayden King is very interested in her and not just as his personal assistant. When she tells him of her secret and that she's going to take part in a study, Jayden does everything to be the person next to her in the testing labs. Abby proves to be the best assistant he's ever know and the woman that Jay can't live without.

Jayden King is a very successful businessman and just one meeting with Abigail will change his mind forever giving him a fantastic personal assistant and future soul mate. But when he finds out that she has sexsomnia he decides to do what it takes to help her even but she can never find out that he's her sleep study partner. There will be some ups and downs but in the end Jayden and Abigail must decide if what they feel for each other is a everlasting love.

It was the first book I've ever read by Anya Omah, and it won't be the last :)
I really liked Abigail, the female character: she knows what she wants, she doesn't let anyone dictate her life or walk over her (see the first encounter with Jayden).
Jayden, well, I must admit that I really liked him until his decision not to tell Abigail about his involvement in her study: I felt like it was a little forced. I mean, she confessed everything, about her past, about what happened to her, while he didn't say anything in return, nor about HIS past, nor about what he was doing.

I liked the dialogues between Abigail and Jayden, really captivating, funny and witty!
Another thing that caught my interest was the sexsomnia topic: a really interesting subject to talk about !

It was an interesting, different story. Not your run of the mill boy meets girl. I liked it well enough, but I couldn't identify with the characters. 3 out of 5 stars.

Initially, I skipped past this book because while the cover was intriguing, it was also off putting. When I decided to read the blurb I was curious. Then I reread the blurb and decided that this just sounded too unique to turn away. I am so glad I decided to delve into this work by Ms. Omah.

Abigail is struggling to overcome a traumatic past and in the process is allowing all kinds of new things into her life. One of those items is Jayden. He’s overconfident, egocentric, and one heck of a book boyfriend once this story gets to moving. Jayden is that wonderful alpha hero that absolutely must have his woman at any cost. Unfortunately, there is a cost and he almost loses her due to some of his earlier decisions.

I had never even heard of sexsomnia but I can totally see it as something that would knock a person off kilter when they learn they have it. What kind of trust would it take to sleep next to someone if you were the person suffering with this condition? To know that at any point during the night, while you are completely unaware, you are making sexual advances towards the person next to you.

This is a fast paced read with a couple that are both emotionally scarred and somewhat unwilling to let it go. Told in dual points of view, I absolutely loved Jayden’s train of thoughts. He is such a man. Sometimes you’d like to just smack him a good one for his idiotic ways. Of course, that’s all a part of what makes him incredibly appealing.

I am very thankful that I had the opportunity to read this ARC in exchange for an honest review. It will certainly be one of those books that I’ll always remember.

Safety - The H considers having sex with another woman at the very end of the book but it is only a brief thought and he is very drunk; he is interrupted from his thoughts
