I am a sucker for cake books! This one seems useful, lots of info on decorating cakes, how to use the paste food colors, various tips on creating neat looking cakes by cutting, melting chocolate, learned about crimpers-which I had never heard of before- gum paste was a new one for me, to.o. Recipes for frostings, icings, gum paste and others are included. I'm looking forward to seeing this book. Photos look good, but I the Kindle doesn't do it justice I'm sure.
Some techniques I already knew, having had some fun decorating cakes a few years back. Still, a great, helpful resource for someone just starting out, looking for instruction. The pictures were a nice, easy way to not get lost while trying to understand some of the techniques.
Netgalley ARC Review -- Janice Murfitt delivers a very thorough and practical guide to cake decorating. The tips and hints provided throughout the book in special text boxes are especially important to beginning and intermediate cake bakers. For someone wishing to try their hand at something more advanced, Janice provides terrific step-by-step directions with photos to assist at every turn.
