This is the third book I have read by this author and I have to say it is sooooo different to her previous two. She has taken The Camera Lies to a WHOLE different level of darkness and I for one ab-so-lu-te-ly LOVED it!

The start of the story ensured that I was well and truly intrigued and had to keep turning those pages. I mean how can you murder someone and not know it? Like Konrad, I was desperate to know more and Konrad becomes that wrapped up with Matthew's story that he delves into something that he will wish he had left alone.

To start with the story very much focuses on Matthew and events surrounding the murder. As it goes along though it becomes more about Konrad.

Konrad is someone that has it all but that still doesn't bring happiness. There is no love lost between Konrad and his wife. She is happy to play the doting wife as Konrad provides her a lifestyle that she loves and as his manager she seems to boss him around in his work and home life. I did feel ever so slightly sorry for him.

The Camera Lies is a dark and twisted read that had me engrossed throughout. The story takes unexpected turns that at times left me feeling quite breathless. An extremely clever story and my favourite of the authors so far.

I was immediately drawn to this psychological thriller and not just because of the cover. The whole TV angle sounded fascinated and made me want to add it to my wishlist straight away… And I have been looking forward to The Camera Lies ever since. There is no doubt that this thriller delivers. The fact that the main character is a TV presenter making documentaries investigating miscarriages of justice is refreshing and definitely makes The Camera Lies stand out from your typical psychological thrillers. This story goes full speed and never slows down… There is a lot of action involved in the plot and it will have some surprises in store for you. BUT. And here comes the reason I had to take away a star from what is otherwise a booming thriller: I was able to see a huge plot twist/revelation coming REALLY early on… And this kind of put a damper on the whole reading experience. I kept hoping I was wrong, and it might just be I read too many psychological thrillers in the first place, but I like being surprised and I was disappointed when I realized that my suspicions were right. Still, there were other elements that did manage to surprise me and the whole case is without doubt both intriguing, twisted and disturbing. Trigger warnings for adult content and graphic scenes! All in all I can definitely recommend The Camera Lies to those who like their psychological thrillers fast, action-packed and twisted.

Great entertainment and riveting read

Konrad is investigating a 2 year old murder for his TV programme. He ignores anonymous warnings to stop his investigation and so finds himself personally threatened as he becomes more and more determined to find out what really happened.

An attention grabbing opening chapter as Konrad interviews the murderer who insists he has no memory of the event and would never have done such a thing. However the forensics and film footage of the crime seem to leave no doubt of his guilt. Meanwhile Konrad's marriage is not going so well, and he is tempted to return to the woman he loves but gave up. He then starts receiving chilling messages from a stalker who wants him to give up his investigation into the murder. To what lengths will the stalker go to get their way? Plenty of interesting characters with twists and surprises to keep the reader guessing almost from the start.

There are some sex scenes but they fit in with the context (I'm not a fan of erotica). Just enough chill factor to keep the book very exciting, but not so much as to be totally scary. There was a murder scene towards the end which I found unnecessary to the story, unpleasant and upsetting.

A 5* rating from me. This was a riveting and fast moving read all the way through, cleverly written to keep the reader guessing. Great entertainment!

This book was quick paced, kept me turning the pages & fully interested with great characters & shocking surprises.

I loved that the tv documentary Konrad was working on throughout the book kept the story going with essential information- not only for his show, but in the discovery of Tessa Carlton & how she fit into his personal life. Very well written, and a thrill to read!

This is my second read by this author and I really enjoyed it. Again the author wrote a unique storyline which had me applauding her again.

Konrad Neale is a television presenter. The book starts with Konrad interviewing Matthew Hawley a convicted murderer. Matthew has no memory of murdering his wife but everything pointed towards him being guilty. We also get a good insight into Konrads personal life.

I found this to be a well written fast paced thriller. I’m looking forward to reading more from this author.

Journalist Konrad came back to fame with this new show “The Truth Behind the Lies”, interviewing convicted murderer Matthew Hawley, who is in prison for killing his wife Helena. The TV show is on British television.
His private life looks good on the outside, but his wife Delia is a terrible woman who makes him beg and buy fancy stuff for her to get some action. He’s in love with Lorna, his mistress and is trying to get back with her after he realizes that being with his wife is depressing him.

Little does Konrad know that interviewing Matthew is bringing out a crazy stalker and trouble for him and his family.

This story started out slow, but then started to become a fast pacing thriller that left me on the edge of my seat. The ending was not quite a surprise, but it took awhile to get there.

Will check out other books by this author!

I received an advanced ebook copy through NetGalley from the publisher and author of this book for an honest review.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book.
It was totally different to most psychological thrillers that I-ve read.
Just when I was convinced someone was innocent, evidence was thrown into the mix that proved their guilt.
If you want a book that you will not want to put down, this is for you.

I really enjoyed this book. I liked how the story started of like a documentary to slowly draw you in and then all of a sudden the twist and turns started and kept you guessing to the end. I will definitely be reading more from this author. Thank you bloodhound books and netgalley for giving me the chance to read this book

I think this may be the psychological thriller to beat this year. This book is full of twists and turns that I never saw coming. Just when I thought I knew what was happening, I was blown away with another expertly delivered twist. I could not stop reading this book, I just had to know how this was going to end and I was not disappointed. I can't wait to read the rest of her work because I think AB Morgan is going to be the next big name in this genre.

Wait...what?!? You're in prison for murdering your wife yet you don't have any memory of it! That would pique my interest for sure. And so I found myself in the same boat as Konrad , a TV presenter of hard-hitting documentaries, seeking to find out a whole lot more about the circumstances surrounding Matthew's murder conviction. Unfortunately for Konrad, he'll wish he hadn't, as he begins receiving disturbing threats to stop digging. Didn't anyone warn him about curiosity killing the cat?

The story is centred around the interview Konrad has with Matthew, and Konrad's attempts to find any missing pieces to Matthew's story. As we read along though, Konrad's personal life, with his detached, unloving wife, also becomes a focal point. Essentially, the author is spoiling us with two stories for the price of one.

Starting off slowly, it took me a while to get into, however, as one reads along, the story inevitably sucks you in until you're on the edge of your bed, sacrificing sleep to see what the next reveal will be.

A very clever novel that will keep your brain cells revved up. Top it off with chilling scenes and delicious twists and we have a splendid story on our hands!

A 4.5 ⭐️ rating from this Bibliomaniac.

I would like to thank Netgalley, Bloodhound books and the author for an ARC in exchange for my honest opinion of this book.
