Sea Red, Sea Blue

I received a free copy of Sea Red, Sea Blue by Jean and Mary James in exchange for an honest review. Real estate agent Katherine Gale is frustrated with her life in chilly Chicago and dreams of the warmer weather and lovely memories of Florida. After a particularly difficult week, Katherine loads up her car and heads south to a new job in Naples. Katherine happily settles in, but she begins to notice connections in her new life to the trying circumstances in Chicago. When she begins to piece the clues together, Katherine realizes she is in danger.

I enjoyed the novel. It was well written and flowed smoothly. I liked the main character and the story. The only thing I did not particularly like was the secondary character, Lee Thorpe. He was secretive and, at times, physically aggressive and violent toward Katherine.

I am reviewing a copy of Sea Red, Sea Blue through Pelican Books and Netgalley:

A love that draws her to an old fishing boat called the Miss Iris an old fishing boat she is destined to own, and it stabs deep when diver Lee Thorpe enters her life. It all feels so terribly right...but something feels very wrong.

When the Peril of her old life invades her new life and the Miss Iris starts to show secrets from a dark past, paradise starts to show its darker side. Soon a night of terror sends Katherine on the Only course she can take but blue waters run red as Lee searches For Katherine.

This is a good mystery has an unusual plot with many twists and turns full of danger, suspense and adventure. Strange and scary events lead Katherine Gale to leave her real estate job in Chicago and move to Naples, Florida to work for her boss' acquaintance and his real estate agency in the lovely and upscale area in Southwest Florida. She remembers a trip to Florida with her father when she was a child and always wanted to revisit Florida so she was happy to move to the Sunshine state. She and her father enjoyed fishing on a charter boat and she decides to go on a charter fishing trip right away. She falls in love with fishing, boating and the ocean and decides to buy her own boat. But at her new job, Kate feels uncomfortable around her new boss and it only gets worse when she realizes that someone is following her. She has no one to trust with her fears since she feels like maybe the danger followed her from Chicago. The story is suspenseful as Kate tries to figure out what is going on. It also includes some interesting side information about boating and fishing. Kate really has an interesting time through the adventures. She meets and gets to know Lee Thorpe, a local businessman, who teaches a navigation class that she takes. But Lee is one of the people following her. This is an interesting mystery that will hold you interest and keep you guessing with a somewhat surprise turn of events near the end. The authors do a good job with character development and description as well as describing the setting and the area.
