Description

"A very useful guide and a must-have for anyone considering the self-publishing book and ebook process." —Emily-Jane Hills Orford for Readers' Favorite.

There are many books telling you how to self publish your book for less than $100 or virtually free. They recommend CreateSpace or IngramSpark. Or Smashwords for ebooks. You can do that, but you will get a book that will look like it was self published and not a professional product that will compete with books from traditional publishers.

William Allan's new book will tell you:

- Why you need and how to get professional editing, cover design and page layout
- Where you can publish your manuscript
- And get online distribution for as little as $245

It also tells you which three publishers offer extensive marketing and promotion with every proposal they issue to authors. Allan's book lists 12 reasons to self publish your book and 25 ways to market your book.

The title of this book emphasizes it is aimed at finding inexpensive, quality book publishers for authors so they can market their book with confidence. With the marketing advice in Allan’s book, those authors will know their book has a far better chance than most of finding an audience and being successful.

There are no guarantees in the book publishing industry today. Allan cannot and will not guarantee your book will sell thousands of copies.

What he can guarantee, if you follow the ideas in this book, is you will enter the market with a book that has all the prerequisites for success.

You will be preparing to market a book people will want to read rather than a book they will be sorry they purchased.

"A very useful guide and a must-have for anyone considering the self-publishing book and ebook process." —Emily-Jane Hills Orford for Readers' Favorite.

Advance Praise

“You have finished writing your book. After much consideration, you have decided to take the self-publishing route to see your book in the market and retain full control of the entire process all the way to the final game of marketing. It’s a big job, but where do you start?
“First, you must have your book properly edited. Then you have to look at layout options and cover design. You have to consider cost. How much are you willing to pay for the end product? So many questions.
“Perhaps one of the biggest questions is whom to trust. Who in the self-publishing industry is not going to overcharge you and take advantage of you? Especially if it’s your first book and you’re at a loss as to where to start and how to go about the process.
“Look no further. William Allan has written the book for you.
“How to Self Publish Inexpensive Books and Ebooks: U.S. Edition is a very thorough guide which will walk you through the process carefully, step by step.
“From editing, to layout and cover design, to the actual decision of whom to trust, and then the final process of marketing and getting the book recognized by readers everywhere, this author has answered all of your questions and more. There are lists of trustworthy book and ebook printers and publishers … in the United States, including rough estimates of fees charged and links to their sites … There are also lists of sites that will review your book and the fees.
“A very useful guide and a must-have for anyone considering the self-publishing book and ebook process.”

The best thing about this book is that it isn’t filled with a lot of extraneous writing. (Don’t you just hate it when you have to read through many pages of worthless material to get to what you need?) The author carefully gathered together many sources from editors to self-publishing companies that will help from making your book the best that it can be, to finding the perfect publishing company. What more could you ask for?

If you were to type "how to self publish inexpensive books and ebooks" in the Google search bar, you would spend weeks or even months trying to figure out what option or publisher to settle for as a writer. I wish I had this book in 2014 when I was getting into self-publishing. The author does a great job of compressing information on publishing ebooks, from the publishers, their rates and the pros and cons of any option. I am still self-publishing and thanks to NetGalley for this has been such an insightful read.
PS: Did I mention that it's also short? Like he does not want to bog you down with unnecessary stuff?

As the title suggests, William Allan offers a treasure chest of information to anyone who might be considering self-publishing a book. The narrative kicks off with an introduction of 12 viable reasons in support of self-publishing. All information is laid out in layman's terms. It was easy to follow. Many questions on where to begin and how to get started are answered in chronological order.

Helpful guidance is provided along the way to assist anyone considering publishing their first novel, be it a paperback or ebook. Many valuable resources had been compiled and were listed to include: market strategies, price schedules and contact information. Most importantly, the author helps remove the mystique about the world of publishing that's often intimidating to debut authors.

I would recommend this book to any aspiring writer who has given serious consideration to publishing their first piece of literature. It's a good place to start.

I offer my gratitude to NetGalley and BooksGoSocial for this digital edition in exchange for an unbiased review.

Snappy and short, clear and concise. A well researched guide to self publishing which, above all, is readable and presented in a straightforward manner. Certainly helps to give a good grounding to, what is, a potential minefield!

Do not waist hours or even days of your precious time googling information on self-publishing. All you need is this novel. It cuts right to the chase and gives you all the information you need to be able to self-publish that book that has been sitting on your computer waiting...

This is not a big book, but it contains a HUGE amount of good information. Mr. Allan also has an evaluation of every aspect of publishing, so this is really helpful for new authors. Since most of the info is "perishable" with change of services etc I hope the author will revise the book every year or so.

This book is great!

Allan very concisely gives the low down on self publishing for the lowest prices you can find. I love how he literally takes out all the work on your part and lists your options and prices you will be looking at. Awesome source for any perspective writers!

There's a lot of good information about the self-publishing world. Alan provides the website for each publisher recommended as well as an overview of their services. He also indicates whether a publisher has a phone number authors can use to contact them or not. There are quite a number of names that a simple research for publishers may not have uncovered. It should be noted that while Alan makes mention of a number of publishers he did not personally test out all of them. Therefore an author who was planning to self-publish would still need to do their own research. A good way to do that would be to start with this book as a reference point.
Thanks to NetGalley who provided a free copy of this book for my honest review.

I loved this book. I found it very helpful full of useful information and answers to many questions about self publishing and considering working with Ebooks. If you are thinking about publishing your own book this is a helpful tool to help you decide what is best for you.
