I generally enjoy cozy mysteries but I find it’s a hard genre to do justice to as a short story. Either the author assumes that you’ve read the series and the story doesn’t work as a stand alone tale, or the author has to spend too much time setting up the characters and location. But I did like most of these stories and found a few authors with series that I want to read.

A Selection Box Of Sleuthing....
A selection box of sleuthing from a select group of authors. A mixed bag to dip in and out of at whim. A fun and satisfying mix of tales, a wealth of amateur sleuthing. Enjoyable reading with hopefully a little something for all tastes.

An anthology of nine cozy mystery writers, which offers introduction to the different writing styles of these authors. As with most anthologies one loves some whilst other are not so interesting - in this case I found them all enjoyable and I would certainly follow up on further books by them.
The writers are from various countries and each have their different writing style, not being a great fan if cozy mysteries, I found that I really enjoyed everyone of these stories and will look for more.

Very solid and enjoyable collection of short cozy mystery stories; each story was just enough to tantalise me into wanting to read more if each series and I especially enjoyed the ones from overseas. I found quite a few authors I’ll be reading more of, which is exactly what this collection was suppose to inspire me to do!

I received this ARC via Netgalley and BooksGoSocial, in return for an honest review. This is a short story anthology by nine cozy mystery writers. The great thing about anthologies is that they provide a great introduction to authors you might not otherwise encounter. Each short story is followed by information about the author and references to the series that the short story supports. The stories are placed around the world and with a variety of lead characters. Some offer very unique twists. Probably the most memorable to me was Sarah Biglow’s ‘Treasures in Heaven’, featuring a US military chaplain as she ends her tour in the Middle East. Since I’m also a female veteran, it was refreshing to read a story from that perspective even if I quibbled with some of the officer to enlisted interactions.
In most cases, the authors have done well at navigating the tricky short story format while still providing enough detail and context to move the stories forward. As with any anthology, you’ll find some stories more interesting than others. Any cozy mystery fan should find several authors to enjoy in their longer books.

his is a nice collection of stories with a variety of themes and writers. If there isn't a story you enjoy, there are others to read. I added a few writers to add to my list of 'books to read.'

A collection of short cozy mysteries by a variety of authors. A quick and easy read that makes a great take along, as it is easy to put up and down. Some are better than others, but overall a fun collection. Would recommend.

Mystery Follows Her is an Anthology by eight Authors. I highly recommend the short stories written by Ellen Jacobson, Adriana Licio, and Angela K. Ryan—three authors that I am familiar with and enjoyed reading these short stories in their cozy mystery series.

The other five authors were unfamiliar to me, and their writing styles did not interest me.

I honestly reviewed a digital copy provided by NetGalley and Books Go Social. Thank you.

I really enjoyed this short story mystery collection. There was a good variety of different themes in the stories. And the stories kept me guessing!

This was just fantastic. I really enjoyed this mystery collection! I've been on a real true crime/thriller kick lately and this was a fun way to continue on that train. A collection of works from nine authors, I found each one to be unique and memorable as each story weaved its way to conclusion.
One thing I really appreciate about anthologies is the ability to get a snippet of multiple authors and gauge their writing style to your liking. You're able to decide if this is an author you'll want to look into in the future, and I love doing that. Writing style is a big deal for me - it can either make or break a reading experience, in my world - and I loved having the opportunity to get to know these authors' works and see how they carry out their craft.

This is an enjoyable collection of short cosies.
Generally with an anthology, there's unevenness in quality and appeal of the contents. Here, however, we have a well-matched array of writing. Every story is absorbing and interesting. Packing a cosy mystery into a small space isn't easy as this deceptively simple-appearing genre has certain demands that all need to be fulfilled. A cosy is a complicated thing! The authors all succeed in creating empathetic protagonists, unlikeable victims on the whole, red herrings and a satisfying denouement.
The anthology is made all the more rich by the very different heroines and heroes we encounter, the diversity of setting and atmosphere and the individual writing styles that reflect the culture and personality of each author.
This book is not only entertaining, it's also a nice introduction to authors you may never have come across before. It's always great to discover another talented writer.

A highly enjoyable collection of short stories that made wish to read some of the series.
Not all stories are at the same level but they're all entertaining.
Recommended.
Many thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for this ARC, all opinions are mine.

This was an interesting selection of authors with a sample of stories from each author and then a short biography on each author and their website url to find them. Some of the stories were very better than others but mainly a matter of taste I think. There were a variety and great for short reading periods.

Entertaining collection of short stories that give you a taste of the series they are from. Have added some to my list from the stories I enjoyed.

This is a very interesting project. Nine authors. Nine women. Nine crime stories. This is an anthology dedicated to cozy mysteries. From grand larceny to murder, there is a little of everything here and I enjoyed it all. And the settings are just as varied as the crimes and perpetrators, transporting the reader from busy coastal villages, across homely suburbs, to college towns so, whatever your taste, you’ll find it here.

Also, if you like me are one of those people who love to read crime but who not always want to commit a week’s reading to unravel the mystery at hand, this series is for you. A few hours and you’ll go from beginning to end of one of these whodunit tales.

Interestingly, I discovered that some of the characters come from previous novels/series written by the authors, hence this stray-like stories serve as corollary to such series. Other stories, however, introduced characters in a way that indicates this are their origin stories, much like those of superheroes, and that they soon will have their own series.

While I enjoyed all the stories I nonetheless have my favorites. Among them is Buried by the Beach, by Ellen Jacobson. Why did I like it so much? Well it’s hard not to like a redemption mystery that is shrouded in comedy and has a no-nonsense lady as protagonist.

I also particularly enjoyed When The Clock Chimes Two, by Adriana Licio. Is the voice that sets this tale apart. That, and a protagonist that feels completely out of her element within a crime tale. Add that to an exciting and satisfactory conclusion and you have a favorite.

Now, my favorites are the result of some personal preferences and not of difference in quality, because in that sense this anthology is an even one.

Rarely does a short story collection hit a jackpot. This one does.
Nine women authors. Nine wonderful stories. My favourite genre. There was nothing not to like. My favourite ones were Buried in the Beach by Ellen Jacobson and When the Clock Chimes Two by Adriana Licio. I discovered new authors as well.
What more could I ask for?

Thanks to Netgalley and Books GoSocial for the ARC.

A Cozy Mystery Medley

I enjoyed this book of cozy mysteries. It was a collection by various authors. The book has a little bit of everything. Muggings, Murders, Robbery, Theft, Humor and a lot of happy endings.

I enjoyed getting a taste of writing from so many different authors. It gave me some new favorites. Since there are several different stories you can read them in different settings as you have time.

It was the perfect book following a bit of heavy reading. It really lifts your spirits. I would recommend this book.

Thanks to all the different authors, BooksGoSocial and NetGalley for allowing me to read a copy for an honest review.

A very nice selection of cozy shorts with several stories garnering enough interest for me to go and find some full sized stories. Each story is different just like each sleuth is different and although these are short they grab your attention. Looking forward to seeing more from these ladies!

A little hit and miss, though more hit. That's the trouble with short stories though and it's likely purpose of persuading the reader to seek out full length stories from those featured. Here, yes, there are a few I believe I will try. Thanks to Netgalley for the reading copy.

We have some wonderful cozy mysteries that span dangerous city streets, quaint villages, and locales across the globe as we follow along with the feisty female sleuths of various ages as they solve crimes. You’ll love this collection of intriguing and light-hearted stories. Included are the following titles:

o Catch a mugger in THANKSGIVING AND THEFT by Dianne Ascroft
o Dig up hidden treasure in BURIED BY THE BEACH by Ellen Jacobson
o Open up a case in CLOSED OUT by Tamara Woods
o Pray for justice in TREASURES IN HEAVEN by Sarah Biglow
o Escape the blame in RING GONE ‘ROUND THE ROSES by Aubrey Elle
o Try on some clues in THE MYSTERY OF THE STOLEN RING by Beate Boeker
o Search for the suspect in WHEN THE CLOCK CHIMES TWO by Adriana Licio
o Catch the culprit in HIJINKS IN AJIJIC by Vikki Walton
o Locate the missing loot in VENDORS AND VILLAINS by Angela K. Ryan

This intriguing set of cozy mysteries provides strong story lines that hold the reader’s complete attention as they move through the action and build up suspense. The characters we meet are well developed, interesting and likable. The combination of suspense, intrigue, and (my favorite) humor, will lead the reader to a satisfying solution to the crime.

How wonderful to have so many great stories in one collection. A great read on a lazy Sunday afternoon.

This is a series of cozy mystery novellas and short stories by talented but perhaps not as well- known authors. It is a good variety of locations, types of crimes, origin stories and continuing adventures. In other words, a little bit for pretty much everyone. I enjoyed the variety and have started to read some other stories by these authors.

Thanks to Netgalley and the publishers for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

A collection of short mystery stories to not only entertain you, but introduce you to new authors and series that you may not be familiar with. I found several new to me characters among the stories presented here that I am excited about following up and reading more about. I love that it gives you a taste of multiple settings, a variety of main characters and interesting mysteries to enjoy! While I enjoy a good murder mystery, it was fun to read mysteries that didn't revolve around a murder case in each story. Don't worry though if you like a good murder mystery, this collection has that for you as well! Fair warning though, this collection will have your TBR pile growing as you'll find some new authors to seek out and binge read!

I was unfamiliar with most of them but I'm assuming that they are all series characters and the perfect introduction to their books. I plan on researching several of them. Nice length and all well written. I received a copy of this ARC in exchange for a fair and honest review.

I do like to keep an anthology or two on my bookshelf and this is a pleasure to add. Whether it's to dip in and out of between longer books, or for grabbing when you have less time than you would like to read, this book is perfect.

Funny, Charming and all things cozy, it has also introduced me to a couple of authors that I shall be investigating further.
