Description
A lost soul. A mysterious companion. The path to recovery begins in unlikely places.
Homeless hitchhiker Cindy has nothing but stories and heartache. Though she’s escaped the cruel abuse of her past, fear drives her to wander the open road alone. On the verge of ending it all, she accepts a lift from a stranger in a red sports car that could bring salvation… or a fast ride into madness.
Rolling across America’s vast highways, Cindy unexpectedly responds to her new friend’s curiosity with a flood of buried pain. But as her demons torment her mind, she fears her deepest scars may be impossible to heal.
Can Cindy discover the healing love of self-forgiveness before the darkness consumes her sanity?
Road Home is a beautiful and powerful literary novel. Infused with lyrical prose, deeply drawn characters, and the eternal struggle for redemption, you’ll love Leigh Lincoln’s transformative tale of the journey towards faith.
Advance Praise
Road Home is a story in which a homeless person makes a trip in the US and realizes her truths. I liked the reminders of life such as, "Survival brings out either the best or the worst in people. That raw emotion is hidden beneath the surface waiting to come alive again." and "Life isn't simple; it's complex and hard. We demand too much of ourselves and others." These and other nuggets kept me thinking differently and questioning my own beliefs. While I was hoping for something more to happen, a bit of danger or adventure, it didn't. I see that's because it wasn't meant to. This book is more of a guide to help you understand the rawness of life. It illustrates how the fears of being human affect the outlook and unconscious speculations.
