Date reviewed/posted: May 13, 2021 Publication date: June 8, 2021 When life for the entire galaxy and planet has turned on its end, you are continuing to #maskup and #lockdown to be in #COVID19 #socialisolation as the #thirdwave ( #fourthwave #fifthwave?) is upon us, superspeed readers like me can read 300+ pages/hour, so yes, I have read the book … and many more today. I requested and received a temporary digital Advance Reader Copy of this book from #NetGalley, the publisher and the author in exchange for an honest review. From the publisher, as I do not repeat the contents or story of books in reviews, I let them do it as they do it better than I do 😸. Combining science and efficacy to fit the hectic schedule of modern life, the Grayshott Plan is almost too good to be true! Miss Edgson has written many books on gut health and this is a great addition to her library...and yours. AND it will save you thousands of spa fees...mind you, I want to go to a spa...well, I want to go ANYWHERE....these days. The concept of gut health is well explained and easy to understand and the recipes are seriously yummy. I made the plum and fig chutney last night - I would have had to be force-fed porchetta but the chutney was lovely on my tofu and chicken stir fry. If like me, you cannot afford grass-fed beef or organic vegetables, I imagine that you could fudge it and eat the lower-cost versions and still have a healthy gut but there is ZERO DAIRY in her plan which does not work for me. AT ALL as cheese that does not come from an animal is udder nonsense! The recipes are well written and understandable by cooks of all levels and the photos make the food very appealing to myself and other lovers of food out there. What I especially love about the book is that it uses mostly whole ingredients instead of pre-prepared and packaged foods. I do draw the line at making my own cheese beyond a quickly-made mozzarella, and canning tomatoes but the more "ingredients" you use the better. My one nephew says that I never have any food in my house, only ingredients --- that is why I cook so much. I also refuse to eat or cook with Frankenfoods such as "chick'n" and its 88 ingredients vs. 🐔chicken🐔 having one. As always, I try to find a reason to not rate with stars as I simply adore emojis (outside of their incessant use by "🙏-ed Social Influencer Millennials/#BachelorNation survivors/Tik-Tok and YouTube Millionaires/snowflakes / literally-like-overusers etc. " on Instagram and Twitter... Get a real job, people!) so let's give it 🍲🍲🍲🍲 (you want 5 🍲? GIVE ME CHEESE!)

I was pleasantly surprised on how informative this book was. Although it is mainly a cookbook, it has a great deal of information on good gut health as well. Most of it is in line with what I have found to be true for me as well. The recipes have beautiful pictures, which is always a plus! My only complaints are that the serving sizes seem to be so small that I doubt many of the meals would fill me, though they are plated beautifully, and many of them seemed to be made with expensive ingredients and are labor intensive. As a busy momma, I'm not really the target audience, I guess. For those with gut problems who enjoy cooking and have more time to do so though, I feel like this book would be well loved! A few of the recipes are less labor intensive and I did enjoy the information section prior to the recipes.

Good Gut, Great Health is a great cookbook with lots of information on gut health and how to improve and heal one's digestive tract. There is a 21-day plan to follow, as well as a "post plan" plan, to restore the digestive system and give information on how to add different foods back. There is plenty of information here but this is mostly a cookbook with beautiful photos, as well as delicious recipes. My one complaint is the very small serving sizes for these recipes. I also do not think fasting is a good way to restore a digestive tract, like is suggested and scheduled here in the plan. But I thought there were many delicious recipes and I plan to try a few of them at least.

This book is beautiful! I can't wait to start trying these recipes. They all look so tasty and healthy and the photos are gorgeous. I received a free digital copy of this book from NetGalley in exchange for my honest review

Interesting premise, lovely photographs, and a lot of gut-health theory behind a 21-day healing plan and a less-restrictive, but still quite restrictive, sustainment. Organic proteins and vegetables are the core of the diet. Grains and dairy are off-limits. Those struggling with digestive issues may find this to be a helpful reset. It may be expensive to continue long-term. I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Super helpful for people with digestive issues (like gerd). If you focus on what you can eat, instead of what you can’t, this book has lots of wonderful recipes and recommendations. It’s a 21 day plan to start healing gut issues but the book also includes after the plan recipes. If you are use to eating whatever you want, the plan will be an adjustment but your whole body will thank you for it.

Good Gut Great Health is a terrific book for anyone exploring issues of the gut. The book begins with excellent information about gut health and the process of healing through diet. This task often seems very overwhelming but I found this title to be easy to follow and contained good options to talk to your daughter about. The truly outstanding section is the recipes. The recipes are easy to understand, have ingredients you already may have at home. I also appreciated the ways to make the dishes in different ways. Highly recommend for anyone looking to improve gut health.
