A wonderful resource to help children understand how much work a getting a puppy will be. I like that while every point is explained simply, it’s also a useful resource for adults too! With a lot of evidence based. This book breaks down researching, deciding on and training your puppy into simple, easy steps. I decided to test out some of their tips for training my puppy and saw a great response from her! A great tool for all dog owners

Cute book about training your puppy. Perfect for kids AND adults. Good info.

Thanks to author, publisher and NetGalley for the chance to read this book. While I got the book for free, it had no bearing on the rating I gave it.

This is an excellent book for anyone wishing to train a puppy. I recommend this book for adults as well as children. It is easy to understand and covers all bases of dog training. Since I have 2 six-month old puppies, I plan to incorporate this book in our daily training rituals and use it as a standard I can refer back to when needed. Highly recommend!

A great book that has been well thought out and written!
I read through this with my 10 yr old and even learnt a few things along the way too!
It really helped with getting the children to understand the training side of having a dog definitely aimed for older children but can be used as an aid for the whole young family

This is a great book. I found it interesting. Though it's aimed at children, I felt it was a good training guide for adults too. I loved all the tips, tricks and advice and found it easy to read and follow. Definitely a book to recommend for dog owners. Thank you for the opportunity to read and review this book.

This book begins with a very important chapter - “Wow! You’re Getting a Puppy!,” which includes key information about qualities to look for in a puppy, the best time to bring home a puppy, what to avoid when getting a puppy, preparing your home, essential supplies, and finally, introducing the puppy to your home.

Then it’s on to basic training commands, like sit, stay, lie down, and come. Every time a command is taught, Malcom breaks it down into steps so it is easy to follow. The book also explains potty training, crate training and socialization. Other commands that are taught in a later chapter include wait, get off, watch me, drop it, take it, quiet, and more.

Malcom discusses fun indoor games like fetch, find, shell game, which hand, etc. then he goes into explaining Next outside games like agility training and hide and seek.

If all that wasn’t fun enough, Chapter 5 explains teaching your dog how to do tricks like shake hands, cross your paws, ring the bell, spin, and more.

Malcom devotes a whole chapter to potential training mistakes and how to remedy them. And there is a chapter on how to care for your puppy.

This is an excellent book for kids and for adults as well. It covers a lot of basics but also teaches commands and games you can play with your dog.

Thank you to BooksGoSocial and NetGalley for an advance reader copy in exchange for my honest review.

This is a great book for the whole family. When a dog becomes part of the family everyone old enough needs to be part of the training process in some way. This is a wonderful book to help get kids involved. The tips in this book are geared toward children giving them easy techniques. The training process is also a bonding process for the family and the dog. Children will learn the responsibility of caring for their new furry family member, such as helping feed the puppy. But there is so much more!

This was such a fun book. We have a cavapoo (King Charles Cavalier + poodle) and my kids have loved coming up with ways to train him. This book helped a ton, and made training Crosby fun. It would've been easier to have it in print as opposed to an ebook on my kindle, but it was still a great resource!
