This book has a lot of great information for chronic pain sufferers. Some I have already tried and they work, some were new to me. Either way, the balance is not only just using natural therapies, but also balancing that with dietary adjustments to help as much as you can. This book gives you a lot of great natural options that you can try and find what works best for you.

The one thing I am not pleased with is the author’s approach to essential oils. As a certified clinical aromatherapist, I NEVER recommend a brand of Essential Oils. While I agree that GC/MS (third party) reporting and some other items are critical for ensuring quality and purity (you’d be surprised how many brands claim to be pure but are nothing more than fragrance oils cut with a small amount of essential oils to make the claim), I do not make recommendations. I questions the author’s stake in doTerra as it is a Multi Level Marketing scheme and there have been some issues in the past. She should lay out several reputable brands and then share that she prefers doTerra, but just a single brand is biased in my opinion.

I found Pain Erasers really interesting to read. The reason why I wanted to read this book because I suffer from lower back pain so I was interested if this book could help me. The book was easy to read and straight the way I was interested in how Michelle suffered from pain. This is a book I will definitely come back to and read a section at time because I don’t won’t to miss any thing .
Thank you NetGalley for letting me read this book.

I am guessing most of us deal with some type of pain on a daily basis, especially if you are over the age of 40yrs old and in average health. If you don’t suffer now, the chances are high that at some point in the future you or a loved one will!! That’s why I was eager to read Pain Erasers by Michelle Schoffro Cook. I had read one of her other books titled The Ultimate pH Solution and I found the book very informative about how the acidity in your body affects your overall health. Most doctors don’t talk about this connection and Cook’s research was very comprehensive.

Pain Erasers is focused on natural remedies to overcome or lessen chronic or acute pain. Cook starts off by telling the reader about her story with pain. She was in a severe car accident that left her with a partially-severed spinal cord and later experienced the unbearable agony of a broken back. She didn’t want to deal with the awful side effects of opioids, so she started experimenting with natural remedies and found what worked to alleviate the pain that plagued her. Now, she is sharing with all of us so we can all live a happier, healthier and pain-free lifestyle.

I loved the layout of the book. Cook creates a profile on the different pain conditions, describing the problem and then listing the best remedy for that type of pain. So, if you suffer from back pain, you can look at that profile and find the natural remedies that might work for you. She includes a brief history of the recommended herb, its properties, how it works, and its effectiveness. Each of the profile recommended remedies were well researched.

I am a big fan of trying natural remedies first before using typical western medicine. If you are a fan as well, you will find a lot of great information in this book. It’s a book I will keep on hand and return to as the years progress.

This is a good book to have in on hand. I loved hiw she used essential oils but I do not favor 1 brand over another. I liked how she broke down the herbs background and how to use it safely. If you can get over the slight push for doTerra this is a great natural remedy book.

Good reference book for someone who wants to use alternative medicine, and get away from big pharmaceutical. This would be great for recovering addicts who want to treat body ailments without relapsing. It’s also well organized that anyone can find what they need when using as a reference book later on.
