Victoria, brilliant inventor and daughter of an American self-made millionaire enters into an arranged marriage with István Farkas, crown prince of Taliskia, an obscure kingdom deep in the Carpathians. He marries her for her dowry. She marries him for a rare metal mine located in his country.

But a mysterious bomb explodes during the ceremony. Victoria's father is killed. She is severly injured, while her fiancé escapes unharmed and returns to his country.

While recovering from her wounds, Victoria wows to find her father's killer. All clues point to Taliskia and Istvàn himself is the prime suspect. Under a false identity, Victoria travels to Taliskia to investigate. There, she discovers a nest of intrigues and an old legend. The locals still believe a giant wolf haunts the palace grounds...
