I Want You to Own Me

So I was initially drawn by the cover and only slightly interested in the story. Well it has a nice little plot though if you didn't know you were getting bondage erotica it may be a little intense. The characters were charming and the Dom/sub culture interesting. It almost reads like one of those CEO and secretary romance novels or anime. The sex scenes were detailed enough without being cheesey and they were evenly based throughout the short story. Overall it's a good read for a distraction.

Well that was definitely hot, I typically am not into erotica but this one is actually really good and I will keep my eye out for everything else written by them.

I Want You to Own Me is an interesting novel, a sweet boys' love romance that's book-ended with some rather dark family drama, featuring both a heart-melting power-exchange dynamic and a heart-rending one. Personally, I think it works better because of the contrast, with the darker pitfalls of submission making us better appreciate the brighter heights of fated domination, but there's no question some scenes may be too much for some readers.

Since this is my first experience with Eve Healy, I just have to say something about her Dom/Sub universe. I absolutely adored the idea of a universe where people have primary and secondary genders, the first being masculine or feminine (which we're assigned at birth), and the second being dominant or submissive (which manifests on your 19th birthday). As someone who identifies as submissive first, and any gender/orientation second, this is absolutely wonderful! What makes it even more fun is how deeply biological those traits are, with Doms having almost magical powers of compulsion over Subs, and with subspace being something almost sacred.

Anyway, the story here is of Anthony, a young man whose family always assumed would be a Dom, but whose blood tests reveal is really a Sub. In the blink of an eye, his entire future is gone, his place in the family business erased, and his familial/social ties cut. He's thrown into a life of submission with only the bare minimum of training, and finds himself hating the life - at least until he's stolen away by a new Dom, one with whom he connects.

The darker power exchange still had appeal for me because, as much as it's cold and selfish, the way Anthony's body and mind react was exciting. The helpless intensity of those scenes spoke to me, and I wished he could find a way to enjoy it. The happier power exchange was softer, more subtle, lacking the overpowering domination that I found so exciting, but the romantic intimacy of it was lovely.

I thoroughly enjoyed I Want You to Own Me and am eagerly looking forward to more romances in the Dom/Sub universe.

Definitely not something I was expecting. A story of Dom/sub dynamics where a young man finally figured out that, despite his parents being Dom, he is a sub. A story of experiences and abuse and love and fitting with someone when you’re least expecting it.

This was a short read, but I loved the depictions of BDSM practices. I wasn’t really familiar with it before this book, but I feel like I know a little more about it. I think I was a little confused by the cover because I thought it was manga going into it.

This was my first time reading anything from this author and I actually really enjoyed this book. It was dark, and spicy what more could you need? I loved this and dom/subverse is one of my favorite genres. I really wish there were more stories like this. I thought the story was well written and the characters were just as good like I literally couldn't help but hate those crappy parents and especially Daniel he is just a snake. I liked that the characters weren't overly perfect. Noah and Anthony were so cute and sweet together. I really want more of them honestly. I felt so bad for Anthony at the start of this that it was kinda hard to read without getting mad about his situation and how he was treated. The smutt was detailed enough without being chessy or absurd. It was also evenly placed throughout the story as well. I thought the writing was decent. I felt like the pacing was good and everything was easy to follow. I didn't feel like anything was rushed at any point and thankfully it wasn't a slow burn either. I want to read the author's other works now. They just got themselves a new fan. I hope they come up with more Dom/subverse stuff in the future.

This was a quick, spicy read. I enjoyed it a lot and thought it was very well done. I'm very picky about my erotica but thought the author did a great job with this one. I would read more by them.

I liked the book. So much of spice. The story was also interesting. A different world was created. I just have one word for this. Fascinating.

I mistakenly requested this assuming it was a manga. The writing is good, the story was pleasant, but I’m asexual so parts of it just weren’t for me. I don’t think it’s fair to give it a negative review based on my mistake, so 5 stars!

Well, I've found another author to obsess over!

I vaguely remembered seeing the cover and blurb of this book on Goodreads and couldn't get the concept out of my head. The idea of secondary genders that define the way the world works and how people are treated is an interesting concept that I've come across in manhua/manhwa/manga but not usually in books (especially not western ones). So needless to say, I hunted this down first chance I got.

And I loved it.

Not only is the gender concept fascinating, but the writing itself is wonderful. I actually had to put the book down for a bit to get over some second hand embarrassment involved with Anthony's training (and then spent hours cooing over Anthony and Noah's relationship because oh my gods, cute!) And while yes, some of the characters' features are mentioned to the point of obsession (Noah's fang, for instance), the whole reason behind this is that the narrator is actually obsessed with said feature. I didn't find this off-putting as others did, but I can understand why they did. (Personally I found the repetition amusing--Anthony really couldn't even get passed Noah's face, he would have loved him just for that!)

Essentially the publishing blurb on this title is very accurate. Anthony Griff finds out he's not a Dom and his parents immediately sell him to the highest bidder: Daniel Abbot. But Daniel is an abusive Dom and an all around jerk. When Noah breaks in to burglarize the house Daniel bought for Anthony, Anthony begs Noah to take him with him. Noah is the first Dom to ever actually care for or even be remotely kind to Anthony and Anthony falls hard. But when Daniel comes searching for Anthony, Noah faces more than just petty theft charges and it takes a lot of finagling for Anthony to get himself out of Daniel's hands for a second time--and back with Noah where he belongs.

This book was stupid cute and well written. But all that said, don't go into this expecting some masterpiece of literature. This is more like a light novel in style and content. It's erotic boys' love. And it's damn good!

Definitely a quick and easy read! I absolutely adored Noah. The concept of Dom/Subs in this book was interesting as well. Only took a star off because of some of the “play”. It was well written and I loved the consent with Noah, but overall not my typical cup of tea. I would recommend!

Welcome to a different world and a different way to see BDSM! Be sure to check warnings! I really enjoyed this book and seeing the characters develop! Will look for more books by this author.

The cover is what caught my attention to this book, I love the details of the characters and the softness of the colors. This was my first Dom/Sub story, and it did not disappoint. The initial story line was definitely spicy, I loved the way the author went all in and was very detailed without it being cheesy. The sex scenes were nicely placed, it was too much throughout or jumbled together. Great story line, just the right amount of spicy, and short enough to be a quick read.

Such a cute addition to this series and in this world. I appreciated the smut, the heat and the character development for such a short novella. Looking forward to any others in this series!

I had the pleasure to read Eve Healy’s “I Want You to Own Me” as an ARC and it has seriously been a pleasure because there have been so many emotions and so many things and and… I was so damn cheering for Noah and Anthony and I was seriously NOT let down at the end.
Due to moving and then having a while no internet connection, this review comes a little later. But in total - it was a good read.

What really throw me was that lack of content warnings. Not for the graphic sexual parts but just for the more triggering situations (emotional abuse, dubious consent). Some warning prior would have appreciated.

Overall, I found the premise of the book to be interesting. The idea of either being a Dom or a Sub and it can be seen in someone's bloodwork isn't something I have come across before. What I felt like was a plot hole was that Anthony wasn't effected by Doms until he found out that he was one. If he was a Sub and it's something that is written in DNA, you'd think that there were have been early signs.

Anthony was failed by all of the adults around him, especially his parents. 100% garbage people. When Anthony and Noah got together I was overcome with joy. They are so sweet and kind one another that it warmed my soul <3

This was a fun and sexy quick read! I loved these two characters so much! It was also well written. Highly recommend if you are in the mood for an omega verse!

I immediately fell in love with the cover of I Want You to Own Me and was absolutely not disappointed. Even though the cover doesn't quite look as *hot*, as the book turned out to be. It was so interesting, to read about these characters and their relationship and the development of their Dom/sub roles.
