Review to come mid-August on my blog/other places.

I received this book from Netgalley/the publisher in exchange of an honest review.

SO I am a big fan of plants, outside and inside. Well, inside I mostly kept succulents/cacti, but over the past two years I have added some new ones that are growing well, and I am always looking for adding more plants to my home. And at the start of the year I already made good on that part with 5 new plants (tiny ones, but also a medium Sanseveria). But I can always use new suggestions, but sssshhh don't tell my hubby, haha.

But the first steps are introductions and some basic tips on how to get started. Supplies, rooms to put your babies in, pots (plus a fun DIY to paint your own Terra-cotta pot which reminded me of a day when I was a kid when we did that), and much more and I loved it! Though, it seems, just like when I read books, I would just be unable to answer questions if someone asked me about my favourite plants. I would just be like, that green one? Haha. I am TERRIBLE with remembering names.

And then we start with plants! And I was just SO hyped to see what plants we would get! And I was happily delighted to not just get fun information on the plant + about this pet including difficulty levels and likes/dislikes + some background on the plant/others like it and deets on how it grows/propagates/other functions + at times some mythology/bonus facts, but also a delightful craft to do with the plant (like with the pothos on how to train it to climb on certain things) or a fun green idea (I so want to try to make that herb salt). AND we also get a fun if you like this plant here are other suggestions. I was just so excited and decided there and then that this is one book I will be adding to my collection when the book comes out.

I did have a laugh when we came to the herb section, also named Eat Your Pets. Oh my!

Next up is the section on basic care + feeding + all the other things. Plants are a big responsibility and in this section we get all sorts of help/deets on what to do, and I really enjoyed this one.

I liked how the book ended with how to gift plants/host a party/share your plants. Fun if you have plenty of friends/family who like plants, I just have a neighbour who shared a few of their plant bits with me and I may also give some to her when my plants are growing bigger!

All in all, I really enjoyed this book and I am so happy that I was able to read it! I would recommend this one. Fun crafts/ideas + great suggestions for plants (sorry hubby) + lots of information.

Such a delightful and informative book about houseplants! Written for children, this book details how to care for a selection of houseplants, provides some background about the plants, and includes craft and activity ideas. I loved the format and scope of information. The suggested playlist is a fun idea too!

Thank you NetGalley and Storey Publishing for this advanced copy. All opinions are my own.

This was book was a brilliant read, really informative for children and adults, with lots of handy tips and facts, a challenge rating for how easy it will be to look after the plant and likes and dislikes. A really good book for someone wanting to look after plants but not sure where to start or what to grow. There are some great eco tips and gift ideas too. This will make a lovely present for someone.

Thank you to Netgalley and Storey Publishing for this ARC copy.

So, I’ll be honest, I requested to an ARC of this book through NetGalley for my own plant understanding & I am not disappointed.

the way the book was written, it’s easy for a preteen & myself to truly understand the differences in care some plants require, how to recognize the the different types and what to do with those plants.

I love how it’s gives you plant suggestions and care instructions. How to manage different types of plants and care tips and suggestions.

This is a great book for preteens/teens desiring to get into plants and for adults too. I learned a ton & will be reading this again when I go to “adopt” some new plants for my home.

This is a wonderful and informative books about plants for children! It is colorful and visually pleasing. It has a lot of great advice on how to take care of different plants, which plants to choose and where to place them, and even some ideas of plants to give as gifts to different family members and friends. This book would make a great gift for kids who are interested in taking care of plants, and it would be useful to a child writing a paper on plants and plant care. Even an adult may prefer this entertaining and easy to understand book on plants to one geared toward adults that may be drier and less fun to read.

Wow, I love this book! I am not great at looking after plants so this is a really great book for me. I love the conversational nature of the writing and the illustrations that’s company the photos. It is informative and easy to follow. My children have also really got a lot out of this book.

A lovely guide to choosing and growing pets for kids. I love the concept of a plant "pet." My husband is allergic to all animals with hair. A book like this might help get buy-in from my kids to try plants instead of fish.

There is a lot of text, so this might be best for older elementary kids. But there are great crafts and ideas for younger ones. The pages are colorful and there are lots of images.

Thank you NetGalley & the publisher for the ARC. I will purchase for my library.

While not every child may have a furry companion, Bea's message emphasizes that everyone can find a companion in a plant!

This delightful and informative book caters to children while also proving valuable for adults. The well-organized format and thorough information are notable.

An absolute joy to read! This book is written in a playful, inviting, and accessible voice, filled with delightful and colourful illustration that help you digest the information. The information is easily organized and so enjoyable to learn! I have some experience with houseplants and indoor herbs, but still learned useful information that makes me excited and more confident in incorporating houseplants in youth programming.

WHAT A COOL IDEA! Mother and daughter authors, a child's perspective! I know this says 8+ but my 4 year old LOVED this book!!!! We are planning a date for him to go pick out his new plant pet, that he can learn responsibility to take care of, have in his room as his own, and watch it grow! I loved everything about this book, the message, the purpose, and most of all a little girl following her dreams and becoming a young author! I can't wait to see what else she accomplishes in her life. I talked to my son about how a girl a friend of his age wrote this book with her mother, and we spoke about dreams and goals, and he was so proud of her! This book is a full circle moment, and we will be continually referencing and purchasing a hard copy when available! Thank you Netgalley and to Beatrice, thank you for you following your dream and sharing your creative mind with us all! Belle, motherhood.... you're doing a great job, thank you for raising a young lady who has so much to offer the world.
